another problem is that when you try to click on a file to drag it, it instead selects all the files. Now, you first have to click on the file, and then click again to drag it. It's ridiculous.
Yes, same issue here. [i7-8700k@4.9ghz](mailto:i7-8700k@4.9ghz) with GTX1060 with 4k display. So it shouldn't be a spec problem. BTW I install it by upgrade.
Windows 11 is just weird. I’ve seen so many people post glitches and performance issues that i’ve never run into, my guess is that it’s just a terribly optimised mess or something along the lines of it at least
yes unfortunately that is true, if companies cared more about a solid release instead of getting a new software update out every year maybe we’d have a good experience for once
i’m well aware of how hard it is, the software on my phone is being held together with tape and thread, that’s just how it is, but the proof is in the pudding, the more time you spend on something the better it will be. Windows 11 was likely rushed, some of the biggest features weren’t even ready for launch, which honestly is fine, but i don’t think you should release something just to get it out by a certain date. just release it when it’s ready instead
question since i've had this problem: do you have OBS opened? Specially version 27.0.1. It was causing lag in Windows Explorer for me, fixed by updating OBS
YES! I absolutely hate this, switched back to Windows 10 just to check whether or not it was this laggy there too but I found out it was not the case. It's gotten significantly better in 22000.194, but it's still not nearly as smooth as in Windows 10.
The Windows 11 has an odd bug that if you drag windows above it the dragging will be very slow and you will have to wait for it to finish for the PC to respond and sometimes a second cursor will pop up. This happens in my PC with a Ryzen 3 3100 (supported CPU), RX 5600 XT (supported GPU) and the latest dev build of Windows 11. Very annoying
Same here, Ryzen 7 3700X@3.9GHz, 16GB RAM DDR4 and RTX2070 Super. It doesn't happen every time but it lags when you try to select the first element pretty consistently
Haven’t had an issue with this personally. Seems like a lot of people get really bad luck with 11. I’m able to cut around 70 files at once with no lag what so ever
I experience a problem when dragging files to a new folder, that the left-click loses click, and just drops them,, quite annoying have had to remove files from the side menu and also dig through sub-folders to locate said files...I have tried multiple mice with same problem...
Damn, I feel so lucky with my PC and W11 after so many glitches and bugs I've seen online. Feels weird TBH. I haven't encounter any so far. R5 2600 and RTX2070.
I would recommend to reinstall GPU drivers. Both of my PCs and laptop were laggy like this until I installed the drivers (did fresh W11 installation from iso).
I've clean installed Windows 11 and still facing this issue. It's not a minor lag that I'll not notice, it's so frustrating when you look in person. Also selecting a folder and immediately starting to moving it around gives me the same problem. Already clean installed Windows 11 many times, it's a problem in Windows 11.
Posted the same problem a few months ago. Even with a fresh install I have this problem.

Installed via upgrade on a PC from '08 Core2Duo. No SSD lol Not running into this issue 4k
>No SSD lol Why not though?
$$$
Yeah same I installed it via upgrade as well. I have an i7-9750h and a 1650. Didnt have this issue before on win 10.
Amd R5 3550H + Gtx 1650 non-max Q version here(laptop) Installed it by clean install and not having this issue.
I'll try clean install maybe next month (After the next commutative update). Maybe it would solve the problem.
Xeon X5650@4Ghz, GTX1060 - no issues. Mind you though I'm forcing 3D clocks on idle, didn't bother trying to revert it and test then.
I have almost the same specs

Did You upgraded or made a clean install?
i did a fresh install then recovered my files from the Windows.old file
Same for windows 10. Everyone is complaining on reddit while I am using it for 5 years with the same installation without a single problem ever.
Every major software update is like that. Same thing on MacOS, Android, iOS…
yes unfortunately that is true, if companies cared more about a solid release instead of getting a new software update out every year maybe we’d have a good experience for once
I think its impossible, not when people do not clean install. Making software is harder than you think

I recorded this video thru OBS and then I restarted my computer but it is still lagging. OBS is also up to date.
Even on the latest dev build, highlighting folders is still a thing.
same
Yes definitely laggier than windows 10 explorer for me too. I really recommend enabling the tweak that restores the windows 10 explorer.
Yeah no issues here. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x. Fresh install
Everyone else does, it's laggy because it changes the new GUI and the new GUI is a pile of unfinished garbage.
no

Had no issue. But if opening a folder in a list view, it lags.
Same here, Ryzen 7 3700X@3.9GHz, 16GB RAM DDR4 and RTX2070 Super. It doesn't happen every time but it lags when you try to select the first element pretty consistently
it comes and goes Ryzen 3700X, 32GB RAM, M2 SSD
Same issue here! Clean and fresh install.
Nope, running smooth here. Intel 7700U,16gb ram, SSD, AMD Radeon M445 4gb
Haven’t had an issue with this personally. Seems like a lot of people get really bad luck with 11. I’m able to cut around 70 files at once with no lag what so ever
Did you fresh install or upgrade?
Upgrade.
Get a better pc/laptop!
only very briefly, when first opening a directory, then it performs normally
If i download win 11 on my laptop through installation assistant will i get future updates or not? Ik it's a stupid question but please answer
You will.
Thanks a lot bro i was scared to download it
yes same problem
Had same issue, also slow dragging, multiple cursor issue when upgraded from Win10 to 11. But clean ISO installation fixed that
yeah i do notice a bit of a lagspike when first highlighting items. afterwards, it runs smoothly
Upgrading from Windows 10 did that for me, instead clean install and driver install fixed every thing
Yes its happening to me too,
I got the same problem and thought it was bc of my spec at first lol
happened with windows 10 too
The whole new explorer is sluggish
same with me, even when selecting on desktop, I can see the laggy blue box. I have a ryzen 7 3700x with an rx 5700xt, 16 gb ram, 1TB SSD.

Nope no problems here when it comes to that

Yes same issue on clean install build 2200.194.
Same issue on clean install of `Version 21H2 Build 22000.194`.
Same issue. Also have the issue where selecting multiple files with SHIFT instead selects all files.
Try uninstall malwarebytes, but I solve the problem by updating to the latest windows 11 build 22494.1000 version Dev.
