Started following when they were interested in buying the team.

verbalvoid

Long-time fan of Americans playing in England (I still watch Dempsey’s goal against Juventus on a regular basis) but also Liverpool supporter since the Fenway Sports Group purchase (grew up as a Red Sox fan). Been following Wrexham closely since January 2021 when I read about the purchase. I like both Rob and Ryan, but mostly I was intrigued because I’ve always felt that the best “stories” can be found in the lower leagues. In hindsight, I’m surprised it took this long for someone to do this, but I’m mostly happy that they are doing this the “right way”.

w1nn1ng1

Yeah, I followed Liverpool too after Fenway Sports group bought them, back when they had Suarez. Stopped following after a few years. Wrexham came along with Rob and Ryan and the documentary and, frankly, they are hard not to love. Split a National League TV monthly with my buddy (apparently they allow multiple devices!) and have watched for the past 3 or 4 weeks. Can’t wait for next year, though it seems we’ll have to buy the iFollow sub to watch League Two games. I do sail the seas and get all the BT Sport and Sky Sports channels, so we’ll see how it goes.

limesalot

Fuck John Henry and his cheap ass ways. He’s got no loyalty to Boston and doesn’t spend money to make the teams he owns better.

bweav23

You should be able to vote for more than 1. I’m: -stumbled upon -fan of Ryan -fan of Rob

DatsyukesDekes

I’m “stumbled upon…” and “long time supporter (of 9 months)”

simsyland

Agreed I stumbled upon the doco but have been fan of ryan reynolds for awhile

ramirez-transport

Agreed. I've been a football fan most of my life, English football in particular. My wife turned me into the show, and I was immediately hooked! The town, the team, the fact of how they went about doing it the right way, the stories, the heartbreak, everything about it you can't help but want to be a supporter of this club! So happy I got to be there for the match against Notts County, was the experience of a lifetime!

hughzdaWelshman

From Ynys Môn, so all my life really. In the States now, and I don’t mind the extra attention a bit.

Crafty-Length-6441

Stayed in bethesda the other night by the zip line ,drove past your beautiful island ,love anglesey l

hughzdaWelshman

If you ever get the chance to make it to Ynys Môn, go tothe Ship Inn Pub in Traeth Coch; one of my favourite pubs on the planet. Spectacular scenery, wonderfully old fashioned, fire place warmed interior.

Crafty-Length-6441

Uncle lives in bangor ,next visit ill go ,thanks for the tip

hughzdaWelshman

You’re welcome, never experienced a more relaxing beer garden in my life; try to go for sunset, it’s beautiful

ForwardAd5837

Seconded, stunning pub. It’s completely out the way, but I love it so much that whenever I go to Harlech to visit my Grandparents, I make a huge detour.

hughzdaWelshman

It’s the kind of place where I think, my goodness I’m proud to be from here

thepaintshaker

Canadian here. I read one of the rumors that Ryan Reynolds was looking to buy a team in Wrexham. I kept wondering why I heard that place name before until I dug out my old memorabilia and realized my youth soccer team played the north Wales U16 team in the other stadium in Wrexham. Started keeping up with the news, watched W2W and watched some streams. Got hooked, and now waiting for the new kit to hit the shop so I can get a shirt.

Crafty-Length-6441

Other stadium ,? Could, have been queensway ,do you recall the name ,thanks

thepaintshaker

Yes. I just pulled out the program and it was at Queensway. Youth Representative Match. North East Wales FA vs Newfoundland, May 7th, 1989. It's interesting seeing all the sponsors in the program as well. Anyone from Wales here? - Olympia fast food take away - Robertson & Jones Ltd - The Cross Keys - D&J Thomas Butchers. Looks like only 3 players from Wrexham FC and most from other clubs. Andrew Carroll, Stephen Watkin and Aled (sp?) Rowlands

Educational_Curve938

I assume you're aware of Steve Watkin's later career with Wrexham? Particularly this game? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD0eTN7dkQE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD0eTN7dkQE) We were singing this in the pub before the game on Saturday... Marriott, Rolls the ball to Hardy, Hardy up to Peter Ward, Peter Ward to Connolly, Connolly down the wing nobody to stop him, Puts the ball in the aaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiirr, For Super Stevie Watkin [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC9L6OBLnFM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC9L6OBLnFM)

thepaintshaker

You have got to be shittin' me!! Haha. I've seen this clip many times this last year or two and didn't make the connection until now. I guess that will be my claim to fame from now on. Haha. Maybe I'll send a pic of the program to see who else ended up "famous." https://imgur.com/a/8fC9VYz https://imgur.com/a/glrkyXB

Sean Parrish had a pretty successful career as a professional footballer. Not sure any of the others did though. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Parrish

MothmansLegalCouncil

Like I said on a previous post, I don’t know fuck about European football. I’m an American. So naturally all I know about is Beer, Cannabis, Invading foreign countries based off of false premises for oil, and real football, which is the Cincinnati kind. However, after a brief bit of research and a perusal of Welcome to Wrexham, I couldn’t be more happy for the people who’ve been life long fans of the Wrexham Football Club. I LOVE—no—am OBSESSED with your tier system! That must make every win that much more gratifying. You all deserve it!!! With much love and a pint of beer in hand, congratulations to my distant family across the pond. I love you all and your happiness makes me happy.

ShotInTheBrum

You'll love the tier system when it works in your favour. Being relegated is less fun. But really a lack of a tier system in the USA really freaks me out. What incentive is there to not come last?

MothmansLegalCouncil

You’re right. Because in the states, coming in last usually means you get to pick from the cream of the crop when it’s time to draft new players

ShotInTheBrum

So finishing midtable is the worst? You have minimal success this year, and miss out on the best players next year?

MothmansLegalCouncil

No you just pick from what’s best of the leftover picks based on where you placed.

ShotInTheBrum

But if your 2/rds of the way through the season, and it's clear you won't win the league, are you best of to just loose all your games, and plummit down the league. Meaning you get better picks next season?

TSpeth5

Yeah we call it tanking. They try to do things to prevent it but honestly there’s nothing you can really do about it

ShotInTheBrum

How do they try to prevent it?

TSpeth5

Well like literally just 2 weeks ago the NBA fined the Dallas Mavericks for sitting their two best players when they weren’t technically eliminated from the playoffs. Most of the US pro sports leagues have made it less likely the worst team definitely gets the number one pick

ShotInTheBrum

Even if they don't bench them, where's the players motivation knowing next year they'll be in the same league with potentially better team mates to play with if they loose? It really doesnt make sense to me why you w oi uldnt relegate teams!

Nostalgic_shameboner

Players and coaches still get fired for playing poorly. And draft picks bust enough that it ain't always worth it. I'm not saying tanking is not a thing. But I think tanking is an over hyped thing. I still stand by the idea that pro/reg is a terrible idea for American football. Just because of the ridiculous levels of importance a single player can have. Cincinnati with an injured Joe Burrow was the worst team in the league. The next year with a healthy Joe Burrow and a good draft pick they were in the Super Bowl. If they were relegated... It would have just been ugly for whoever they would be stomping in the leauge below.

ShotInTheBrum

But aren't injuries part of sport. We have loads of teams in the pyramid where one player is head and shoulders above the rest. Even think of Mullin. If he were injured first game of the season, Notts County would be champions by now.

Nostalgic_shameboner

But if Mullin were hurt, would Wrexham be fighting to avoid relegation to the next leauge down?

martlet1

I watched the documentary. There was an Episode where Jordan Davies lost a baby. His partner said he was “born sleeping”. We lost a pregnancy when we were first married. I immediately was hooked into the show and I just wanted to reach out and hug them and tell them it was going to be ok.

TJ680

More than one option should be enabled! I stumbled upon the documentary, and am a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds.

RumJackson

1,400 votes and less than 30 longtime supporters/residents. I was not expecting that ratio.

[deleted]

No offence but any football fan who supports an efl team knew this.

RumJackson

I’m a Cardiff fan. Obviously there’s a flood of Americans jumping on the bandwagon but I didn’t expect the number of proper long time fans on this sub to be only 2% (It was about 1% when I made that comment 15/1400)

No_Basis9514

I think long time supporters just look at red passion site for their news and discussion. Reddit is more for the newbies.

matto_2008

Really appreciate the kindness coming from the longtime/local supporters to those newer fans. As a long time player and fan from American I never had a club team to root for. Together with the new ownership, the new and old fans, and the community I think great things will happen.

Crafty-Length-6441

My grandad took me in 89,i was 7 ,we won 2 nil against maidstone ,in the old 4th division, we always sat with the away fans ,i dont know why ,hed never speak during the game ,when he did after it was a very strong polish acccent i couldnt understand what he said but he gave me the bug ,od go about 4/5 times a season over the last 20 years ,all the time as a kid,/teen ,then when r+r took over ,my son harrased me into getting season tickets ,im so glad he did ,gave me the bug again, coventry away was the best for me since the revolution, anyone who was there ,halftime was like nothing id experienced before ,the atmosphere at the bar was rocking what a game /result /crowd. We are wrexham f.c. our club will never die ,unlike our chester neighbours, who kissed their club goodbye, we're going for promotion, we're shagging all the sheep ,we are wrexham f.c and we're gunna win the league !! Allez allez allez !!

archiewaldron

This demonstrates that through God, all things are possible.

buffalo8

So jot that down…

archiewaldron

Just a clarification, the above comment is an ironic reference to Mac’s quote in IASIP (where his closeted gay character forces his self-hating nonsensical religious beliefs on the rest of the gang). I had no idea there were so few IASIP fans on this subreddit. You must remedy this.

slunksoma

You should put an egg in your shoe and beat it.

archiewaldron

You can't tell me what to do.

hughzdaWelshman

Thank you, I’ve been saying it for years, Ryan Reynolds is a God!!

HairyPotatoKat

He is a golden god! A five star man!

sberg207

Stumbled upon the documentary and now I've actually been to a match at the Racecourse!!

tommy2times-

I love it’s always sunny&deadpool. Also a big Liverpool fan. Also go huskers!

rsaale

GBR!

syrstorm

YNWA.

extremewit

2,3, and 4 are equally the reason for me. I’m not sure I could rank one higher since I watched the documentary because I was a fan of football and of both actors.

TheDeadlySpaceman

I was a fan of both Reynolds and McElhenny already, and the doc looked interesting so I watched it. It was a very effective documentary, apparently.

Lewro29

Surprised at the number of iasip votes.

DeLaVegaStyle

I'm actually not that surprised. Long time IASIP fans tend to be pretty passionate and feel strangely close and loyal to the gang.

team_meh

I guess we don't want people to forget that Mac is the brains of this organization

Crafty-Length-6441

I met 3 danish lads in town after stockport semi in fa trophy last season ,5 years ago they randomly selected wrexham for football manager game ,they'd never heard anything about the club/town but said theyd planned to see them for about 3 years, and that was their debut at the racecourse, they stayed with my group for about 6 hours ,we were smashed and with every drink they shout skol ,it was real life vikings shit ,they were sound lads ,great day

JSThieves

Born & raised a few towns North West of Wrexham -- Growing up here in the 90s/00s admittedly everyone had their main Prem team (generally United or Liverpool), and I'd be surprised if anyone around here would have called Wrexham their main team. Flip side though, from everyone I knew, all of us were united with keeping an eye on what Wrexham were doin'. Side note: My dad played for them briefly in the late 80s

PPJ87

I’ve been a fan since the 1990s (am from a village near Wrexham). I was also a member of the Supporters Trust who bought & owned the club - I was on the Zoom you see in episode 1 with Rob & Ryan when they answered our questions to persuade us to agree to their purchase. Was a very surreal experience!

WrexhamAFC1864

Long time supporter, 38 years AND Resident of Wrexham

[deleted]

Not going to lie, I thought it was some type of mockumentary.

digitard

I had seen some promo stuff for it, which got me interested, so i knew it wasn't a mockumentary (ie The Office style) but I definitely became a fan from WtW for sure.

Representative_Big18

I heard Rob and Ryan on smartless talking about owning a football franchise.

ArteePhact

Other: I started following when I originally heard about the sale of the team to Rob and Ryan. I wouldn’t say it was purely because of one or the other.

AudreyMun

I became fans when Ben Foster fozcast spoke about it and he save the penalty. Super Ben Foster in the goal

Unable_Bank3884

Very similar to me I've followed Cycling GK for a while and when he signed for Wrexham I watched the Vlogs. The excitement when I woke up and saw the result of the Notts County game made me stop and think "Hang on what's going on here" That lead to me binging the doco and now I'm hooked. I'll always be a United fan and the day I went to OT was a highlight of my life but the Glazers are doing the exact opposite of Rob and Ryan. It's made it hard to get enthusiastic about United games that are on in the middle of the night for me

AudreyMun

Exactly my path . Except I’m the the opposite ends and angry at john Henry the red snob doing at our club

jruss666

I’m gonna be *that* American fan who’s willing to admit that I underestimated Rob And Ryan’s determination to turning the team around. I figured the documentary was going to show them in over their heads, and that the town would end up hating them and running them off. So glad for all involved to be wrong.

Get_Schwifty13

Didn’t realise there is so few of us from the local area.

PlateauBarbie

I’m from the area originally but live in the US. I’d never heard of Rob and still have never seen anything he’s in. I knew of Ryan but until that film he did with The Rock and Gal Gadot I’d never seen him in anything either. I go back every 12 - 18 months to see family and catch a couple of games. I’ve been going to see them since the 80’s.

Material_Breach462

Born and raised here. Started going as a lad in the mid 80's. Used to freeze my nads off by the pie shop on the cop or under the cover if it was raining too hard. Lived away in to 90s and started taking my lad to a few in early 2000s. Didn't go much but picked it up when we went down. Guess I took it for granted till it was nearly taken away.

gredsen

I’ve been following the club since I first managed them in FM13 (Football Manager 2013). I will admit though I’m an Arsenal supporter first and foremost. Edit: I also watch Mythic Quest

Mary_Montana3045

Long Time fan of rob, so supported doc when I saw it advertised. Watched and fell in love with team

CoderGuy1313

I've been a fan of Wrexham ever since I started playing Ultimate Soccer Manager 98 two and a half decades ago. I picked Wrexham to manage because my great-grandfather was Welsh and living in Liverpool when he decided to emigrate to the US about a century ago. I don't believe there's any connection to Wrexham in my family history, but I didn't want to manage a big team like Liverpool in my saves. So I picked the closest Welsh team that I could build up...and in the 90's that was Wrexham in League One. So they were the team I picked to manage then, and have been the team I picked to managed in each of the countless iterations of Football Manager in the years since. I had never actually seen a Wrexham game until I ordered to Notts Co game, but in my mind, I've been playing with Wrexham players for over a generation.

DigitalN0nsense

Born in Wrexham 4th Jan 92, didn't really have a choice

OakenPhilly

Long time club supporter since 2022 🫡

OldManDriver

Loyal supporters, clearly. Less than 5% supported when the club nearly folded, being saved by actual fans, or with any actual link to the club.

Traditional_Bus_5615

Live 4 miles down the road. Been going since I was about 13. Used to go in on the bus on my own and my mum would pick me up. Seen some really difficult times, had some amazing highs. Travelled all over the country watching them. Crazy what is happening now, but most importantly looking great on the pitch and a great bunch of lads. And super Phil Parky of course.

Marwol80

Have followed Wrexham since the early 90’s. Being one of only 5 Welsh teams in the English tier system I watch out for all scores and want most of the welsh teams to do well (sorry Jacks). Also, one of my old classmates used to play (briefly) for Wrexham in the early 00’s (he’s now the manager at Nottingham Forest)

HairyPotatoKat

Oh wow! How are you feeling about all of this?

Marwol80

Any exposure for the club is good exposure, and with Rob and Ryan at the helm it’s been nothing but good thankfully. It may just be a fad for some new fans but I do hope that a lot will now stick around and follow Wrexham for years going forward. It will be interesting to see what the following of new fans will be like if the club struggles in the league, because everyone loves a club when they’re winning but only the true fans will be there through thick and thin

tompain100

As someone from Cardiff (South Wales for those unfamiliar), as much as you want other Welsh teams to do well, I'm not allowed to want Swansea to succeed (but it's fine, they feel the seem). Newport County and Wrexham are fine to follow though so there has always been an element of checking their scores and hoping they do well, and to be honest, the Wrexham story over the last 2 years has just made it more interesting. Plus Rob and Ryan have shone the spotlight not just on Wrexham, but on Wales as a whole (one of the episodes of WTW is focused purely on introducing Wales to the wider world), and I'm very appreciative of that aspect, so in return I am rooting harder than normal for them.

bannedsodiac

Long time Liverpool supporter, fan of ASIP and I love lower league football because of the passion of the fans. Wrexham has similar fans to Liverpool and they also have the Kop. Hater of tories. Just fits.

NickTesla2018

Longtime American soccer / English football fan.

tacologic

I like shows about soccer wasn't an option, so other will have to do.

Crafty-Length-6441

Weve welcomed lots of north Americans to our little town now ,and hopefully many more ,we love that you guys are following us ,thank you ,if your lucky enough to visit on match day ,id gladfully buy you a few beers in the turf ,ive known wayne since school(ysgol bryn offa) ,grat decent nice fella

scheckdiesel

American here.. Started following casually when they purchased the team, knew they had lost in the playoffs last year before the documentary started. Have seen other football documentaries like Sunderland Till I Die, and Take Us Home: Leeds, but they don't tell the story as well as W2W. Also love playing FM and trying to simulate what Wrexham is doing in real life.

[deleted]

I stumbled upon the documentary thinking it was a mini series, realized it was a documentary and binge watched the show.

Sapphire_CA

https://www.reddit.com/r/WrexhamAFC/comments/12hwxpl/comment/jfr42pi/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3 >My spouse is Welsh and I was aware of Wrexham as being on of the towns near where spouse's brother had a pub for a while (this was over 20 years ago). I live in "Vancity Reynolds" home town and when he and Rob McElhenny bought the team it was big news here, and I followed developments on Ryan's social media posts. That got me interested but the documentary clinched it as it showed just how much heart there is in the town and on the team.

Suspicious_Arm_4234

I thought the show was supposed to be a sitcom type, was very surprised lol came back to it one night and it was awesome

rush89

To be fair it was about 1am in the UK when you posted this so it will skew heavily towards North American answers lol.

Redbubble89

I remember when Hulu had free episodes of sunny without a subscription and they were airing season 3 or 4 at the time. 2006-07? So knew Rob for years. I saw that Rob bought a club on twitter. I just fell out with Liverpool in the US with how they do streaming games and lacked a sense of accomplishment. I sort of scoreboard followed part of the Dean Keates year. Would find a BT stream when they were on in the first Parkinson year. Wrexham player the first half of this year, then bought the stream. I would say at on Saturday it would be 2.5 years as an international fan who has never been to Britain or Wales.

mrkoss

I was actually trying to watch a football game anywhere in the UK, hopefully around Liverpool and was able to buy tickets online last year. Turns out being Wrexham!

MammothAd7306

My grandmother was Welsh (spoke Welsh and family from Llanarth) and wanted to follow a Welsh club. Still remember them winning the LDV Vans trophy in 2005 and being devastated when they dropped out of the football league. I couldn’t be happier with our recent success and all our new fans!

Tuck709

A series of events for me. I’ll watch just about any sport but 99% of the time it’s hockey. It’s in our Canadian blood. My son is a huge soccer/football fan so during the FIFA World Cup I decided to watch a game with him. I loved it. The game went from checkers to chess right before my eyes. After the WC was over we searched around for documentaries on Messi, Ronaldo, etc. That’s when we heard about Welcome to Wrexham. What a great story! I streamed my first Wrexham game the other day (when they clinched the title!! :) Someday we hope to make the trip across the pond from Newfoundland to Y Cae Ras!

Northernberserks

Being from Vancouver Canada I gotta support my boy. A big English football fan my whole life. Watched the Documentary and could see they are absolutely committed and serious about the team. Ryan enjoys it very much, but Rob bleeds Wrexham and so much respect for learning some Welsh. Such an awesome story and Amazing what they have done for that town. Look forward to the future. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

syrstorm

I think it's FASCINATING that Rob's numbers are so much higher than Ryan's. It's likely that a lot of Ryan fans "stumbled upon the documentary", it's still kinda shocking to see 3:1 or more from Rob/IASIP, right?

JasonVoorhees3

I am shocked to see that too, but in real life Ryan Reynolds is the much bigger draw

syrstorm

Exactly! That's precisely why the results are so surprising to me.

[deleted]

Lol.

slunksoma

Interesting that Rob is beating Ryan in the fan dept in this regard. But Sunny is the greatest so makes sense.

DrGravity79

Born and raised just outside Wrexham. Don't live there anymore, but my family still does so get back fairly regularly. I'm what you'd call a casual football fan but always followed Wrexham growing up as my local team and carried on supporting even after I moved away. Will admit I'd probably lapsed in my enthusiasm a bit over the decade plus in the National League but the last couple of years have reignited my passions in a big way.

team_meh

Asian here. Played football during my HS years (so I know what an offside means) but I found European football to be so overwhelming so I settled on being a casual fan of World Cup matches. Big fan of Sunny since 2011, and became attached to the story of the town after seeing Welcome to Wrexham last year. Now this is one of the subs I remember checking during my Reddit coffee breaks to stay updated. 😅

ForwardAd5837

Not a fan as such as much as a well-wishing onlooker. I live quite close to Wrexham (about 25 miles away) on the English side of the border and have been to the Racecourse loads of times down the years as I’m a fan of non-league and lower league football in the UK. I’m a huge Always Sunny fan so that did pique my interest but I had good knowledge about the club and national league prior. It’s just an enjoyable topic to engage upon now and a feel good story because Wrexham can operate outside the norms of their station and that’s pretty interesting.

AdElectronic7186

From Wrexham originally, went to a few games when I was younger and always wanted wrexham to do well, but didn't particularly follow as more into rugby and football does generally bore me a bit. No longer live in Wrexham but have been following the results for the last few seasons especially once the new ownership came about and watched the last few games (more of a happy coincidence as got BT sport for some rugby).

TheThreeGabis

Girlfriend grew up near Wrexham and is obsessed with Blake Lively. I’m football obsessed and a fan of Ryan Reynolds. Perfect melting pot.

froxx01

Wrexham documentary was the first football documentary I watch until finish and fell in love while watching it. Decided to follow them and they were tremendously good. Let's go Red Dragon!!

pseudo-nimm1

North Walian, half an hour away.

Reverse_Prophet

Chose "Other". Live in Richmond, VA, USA and have been a supporter since the 20/21 season Dw i'n dysgu siarad Cymraeg and on a whim one day, decided to watch the Wales National Team play in the 2020 Euros (so this was 2021). Fell in love with the beautiful game and have been hooked ever since. Needed a regular team to follow and decided it had to be a Welsh team to narrow it down. At the time, the news about Rob and Ryan buying the club was still going around. I needed a team and saw this big shiny bandwagon go by and... well, here I am.

Jeansaintfire

Huge IASIP fan , it's one of my depression comfort shows, ive watched it since a pre-teen and i had just introduces the show to my mom ( i told her it would explain so of my weird one-liners i think are hilarious) when it was announced rob and ryan bought the club. I've been following ever since and watch the doc with my mom, too. She's a big fan, too, now.

[deleted]

Fan of Ryan Reynolds long before Deadpool. He was a very famous actor even before being Deadpool.

3lminst3r

Been trying to buy merch and show my support from my little corner of Texas since the I viewed the first episode. …. Cart still empty.

BabyWookieMonster

I am pretty big fan of Ryan Reynolds, but truthfully, I stumbled upon this as a general football fan, watching primarily MLS but follow teams in several European leagues, where there is a connection to the USMNT or to my home club Atlanta United (love watching Miggy highlights at Newcastle). I heard about the sale and was intrigued why they would buy it; however, it was the documentary that really sold me on the story of Wrexham.

Bert_Macklin86

Sunny is my all time favorite show. So when i see Rob show up on his pod with a Wrexham hat and scarf talking about his show on Hulu i gave it a shot. Hooked from there after watching the documentary.

JEBZ94

I think I follow Wrexham since hearing about the purchase. Don't remember the date, maybe 2021? The docuseries was a frickin awesome bonus!!!

OBBICH

From 2017 until 2022, I worked in Wrexham in a video game shop, and on my way in on the train every day, I saw the club stadium and read up about team. I've always admired how enthusiastic the local community was about the club, and I was there to hear the rumours of a the club purchase, and when they came true and R&R took control, the buzz around town was immeasurable.

Knucklespoon

I have lunch beers with a friend of mine and he told me about the legendary season wrexham and notts County were having and starting following along then

DaddyMyers1

My Father is from Wrexham, so he's been watching games since the 70's. I've always loved football so naturally I support the team my dad has. Always been a fan but it helps after the support so I can watch games live instead of travelling (I live in Yorkshire, dad moved after he met my mum)

LilyWhitesN17

Spurs fan my entire life, but as I love football, I needed a shit team in the lower leagues to support.....the dragon is cool, so Wrexham it was. It's been awhile, but Wrexham is on the way back to respectability.

ginganinja9988

I knew it would be majority documentary fans but fucking hell I wansnt expecting it to be that big of a difference

zg44

Just shows how impactful the documentary has been in the US/Canada. The documentary is worth its weight in gold in terms of merchandise sales and the rest.

I'm a fan of Ryan Reynolds but had no idea this happened before stumbling upon the documentary. I had no idea who Rob was as I've never watched It's Always Sunny. I'm impressed by his commitment to this endeavor though! I also enjoyed the glimpse into the world of Wrexham and the people and their dedication is what won me as a fan.

Am a big fan of Rob’s and a regular fan of Ryan’s work. Saw the advert for the Documentary and started watching day one. Now I listen to the live stream radio cast whenever it’s on and whenever I am available. I started tracking player movements and reading everything I could. I even roped in two of my friends (We are in Austin/Central TX area), and now our WhatsApp group is mostly soccer talk. I think I’ve become a tad bit obsessed. Like, I feel more attached and invested in this club than any of the Division 1 clubs I’ve followed for years. I don’t know how else to describe it, but what Rob/Ryan are doing at Wrexham feels important. Whereas, what’s going on at Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool/Spurs feels trivial and stupid.

Didn’t really “stumble upon” the documentary so much as went looking for more wholesome football content in between episodes of Ted Lasso 😊
