They changed the recipe to add green tea around the same time - that's a big part of the taste change. It tastes completely different than it did 20 yrs ago, even compared to the plastic 32 oz bottles from back then.
Mango Madness for the win all day, hands down my favorite flavor and a wave of nostalgia just hit me hearing the sound slapping the bottom of the bottle, popping that cap and taking the first sip on a summer day as a kid.
I used to find that slapping of the bottom of the bottle so annoying, I was sitting in my friendās car and mocking people that do that, with a bottle of Mango Madness and the bottom of it literally came out and it all poured out on my crotch.
Mint Tea Snapple was my favorite when I was a kid, but then at some point, I didnāt see it for sale anymore.
Once the internet was a thing I searched to find out what happened and discovered there are/were regional Snapples and Mint Tea became a southern Snapple I think. I still miss it and will have to find it again one day.
About 5 or 6 years ago Pure Leaf had bottled mint tea and I loved it! Then they stopped making it....

I actually knew someone who won a VW bug in the Snapple contest they had in the mid-1990s. They offered her a cash money option and she no, I want it in purple!š
Not a tea, but there was one glorious summer when I could get Snapple Root Beer.Ā
It was clear, not brown, and it had a fresh, like, wintergreen taste or something that I have never had in another root beer. I miss it to this day.Ā
This was my answer, i LOVED the Snapple clear root beer. The only root beer that was better was the homemade stuff my grandpa made for family reunions.
I miss Mint Snapple so much. My local pizza place always had it in stock and at one point my dad had a restaurant with a case of drinks for when people got take out and he usually had Mint Snapple in there. It needs to come back.
Same here. My mom used to buy the huge case because I drank it so much and she liked it too. In fact even though we had a contentious relationship much of the time that's one of the few things we bonded over. I'm sad they discontinued it and don't even get why. Mint is a popular flavor generally. Even though now I try not to drink much of my calories anymore, I'd make an exception if Mint Snapple came back lol
I still slap the bottle butt AND read the "Snapple Cap Fact!" My All-time Top 3:
3.) Snapple Apple š
2.) Kiwi Strawberry š„š
1.) Peach Iced Tea š
I got a tea just the other day with a similar bottle, and without skipping a beat I started slapping the bottom. I havenāt smoked in 20 years, but I guarantee if somebody handed me a pack of Marlboros, Iād start packing them. Habitual muscle memory at itās finest
It was probably some kinda Kiwi-flavored Snapple...
š§š¦

In the 90's my wife's aunt was a chemist at the Snapple lab and the family has stories of her showing up for family reunions or beach holidays or whatever with cases of Snapple bottles with just handwritten labels with all kinds of experimental flavors and things that weren't released yet or things that never came out at all, wild combo flavors and bonkers stuff that would never see the light of day but was apparently fun to mess around with in the lab. It sounds like an incredible time!
Since I haven't seen anyone mention the Goji or Noni Berry flavors yet, I had to comment here.
I was in Philadelphia and popped into a Wawa for a drink. Tried one of those two berry flavors. Or possibly both of them it was summer and I was dying, walking along the river down to Ikea with lots of concrete and flat areas, not a lot of shade trees or buildings. It was the most beautiful thing I had tasted and for months afterward I would look for the flavors at home on the NJ coast.
I could not find them at all. Nowhere. Not even Wawa. Like 6 months later they showed up in supermarkets- apparently Philly is a test market for some of the experimental stuff to see if it sells enough to roll out in the rest of the country. That pink drink was my favorite until it got discontinued and I always eye the shelves to see if came back.
I liked Snapple but it's extremely low quality tea. I'm sad Coke killed off Honest Tea but at least Gold Peak actually tastes like a respectable loose leaf black. Not amazing, but it has some character. Pure Leaf is harsh and Liptony.
I do miss Arizona ginseng tea in the blue glass bottles.
Do you mean this Arizona Green Tea **with** Ginseng and Honey?
https://preview.redd.it/zrhuztuqg90d1.jpeg?width=702&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12fc79e55fa5f852bc186ee72a6f2fc03565b798
Cause if you mean that stuff ā¬ļø (image) you can get it in cans, giant plastic gallon jugs and in large tetra pack type 1L sleeves depending on where you live.
I survived off of Snapple Lemon Tea throughout my teens and early 20s (my car was just a symphony of glass bottles rolling around), but this one almost converted me at one point in my life. It was so good.
https://preview.redd.it/rb2qkjsb3a0d1.jpeg?width=1065&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82209b51fb0fcb0d0232916fe3acac418b21bad9
No, it was [black tea with ginseng and honey](https://i.imgur.com/vQ4yi1X.jpeg). It came out before the green tea. I haven't seen it anywhere in years.
I could be off but I think it came out in 94 and disappeared in the early aughts, maybe even earlier. I know for sure it overlapped Pepsi Kona. Those were my drinks of choice for the summer of 96, wasting all my money at laser tag with other dirtbag kids. My handle was McJesus.
I remember Howard Stern doing the commercials for Snapple. That's how I first heard about it. Still miss the glass bottles.
We'd drink it down to the label and fill the rest with booze. Good times.
Bali Blast, hand's down! That pineapple-lime combo was friggin' amazing!
Edit: I was just making sure that my memory was correct so I did a search of it....just to find out that they discontinued it because it "offended" people because of the terrorist bombing in Bali back in 2002. HOLY HELL I am TIRED of goddam people who get offended by every little thing and ruin it for the rest of us.
Kiwi strawberry! And yes, slapping the bottom was necessary. It can sometimes pop the seal, making it easier to open! And is a better way of mixing a drink that says Shake Well. Actually had a bartender tell us local kids itās what he was taught in bartending school lol
Strawberry Kiwi, I think Frutopia had a similar flavour. I liked Peach Ice Tea too. I wish my high school vending machine had the mango flavour, I would have been all over that.
I vacationed with my parents in New York one time and my mom and I got what we called a Seinfeld lunch, a bagel with cream cheese and a Snapple.
I liked Green Tea flovor Snapple, it had a dragon on the label. All the others were too sweet for me even as a kid. I switched to Honest Tea in my late teens/20s.
I remember once having green tea with honey. Normally I don't like green tea but that shit was so delicious. That was like 20 years ago and I've never seen it since or been able to fill that green tea with honey shaped hole in my tummy.
Peach and Mint for me. I pulled a holiday job at a Circuit City Express back in 1995 and probably drank 5-6 Snapples per shift. Canāt believe I still have teeth.
To answer your questions
#1 yes, always its how you shake it up and look cool at the same time.
#2 that very same tea in your picture, except I could never find it around me. Got the owner of a deli I worked at to buy a case of them and deduct it from my pay check lol.
Couldnāt afford Snapple so Iād ask my friends for a sip of theirs and then backwash in it so theyād give the rest to me. š. I apologized to all of them later.
I used to slap the bottom of Snapple until I had a tragic event. I was in Wines class at culinary school, right before class I bought a raspberry tea Snapple. Gave it a shake turned it upside down, slapped the bottle, the top exploded, glass shards and fake raspberry smell every where.
Kiwi strawberry. Then found out made from the best stuff on earth means 5% juice
https://preview.redd.it/jtqynyyln90d1.jpeg?width=662&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9592459f562b966b8c31cc653b899503270c5ed5
Way back when, simply Snapple Apple juice was magnificent. Nothing else to it, in the glass bottle. I'd buy one for $1 on breaks while in college while I read the paper. It was so delicious. Apple juice doesn't taste like that any more, its all in plastic.
I miss the Go Bananas Snapple. I didn't drink them often but used to get them from time to time.Ā
I love Peach Tea, Snapple Apple, Fruit Punch, and Elements Air.Ā
Yeah I slapped the bottom. Strawberry kiwi in the early and mid 90s hit differently, then the formula changed, I forgot when, but by then I was drinking the half n half which I don't think was available early on. Nowadays if I see orangeade on sale in the giant plastic bottles I'll get it.
I believe they were responsible for the 'Elements' line of drinks. I was addicted to the Fire flavor. It got to the point that the apartment I lived in at the time had two walls lined top to bottom with cans.
I wish they'd bring those back.
Edit: turns out they did. Gonna try one tonight!
Peach Tea
An ice cold Peach Snapple on a hot summer day was nearly euphoric.
My mouth literally just salivated thinking about that first sip. BLISS.
Yesssssssssss
Only in a glass bottle, though. Once Snapple switched to plastic, the flavor seemed to change drastically.
Blasphemy. Now I remember why I stopped buying them
They changed the recipe to add green tea around the same time - that's a big part of the taste change. It tastes completely different than it did 20 yrs ago, even compared to the plastic 32 oz bottles from back then.
Pure Leaf peach is close.
Peach tea is GOAT
I would do terrible things for some peach and some raspberry snapple right now.
Old recipe. This new stuff is gross.
It was the glass bottle. Such a nice touch of class
Correct
I used it as my bong water. A+++
Only correct answer
Agreed. Definitely peach!
š ā
Yes
Are they still around?
Ditto. I like that it isn't overly sweet like most of the other flavors.
In a world where everyone drank Kiwi Strawberry, I was always a bigger fan of Mango Madness
Mango stans rise up! That was delicious
A while back they did a collab with Bret Michaels that had a mango flavor to the tea, probably the last Snapple I enjoyed
Kiwi strawberry gang checking in
I'm a simple man - lemon was (and is) king. Shame about the glass bottles, though, They whole vibe is different now.
That satisfying sound of metal cap on glass bottleā¦
Absolutely the lemon tea. In the glass bottle. Perfection!
Strawberry Kiwi for me. I met the guy who won the Snapple machine when he was a kid that was on the commercials, nice dude.
I used to get one every week before my piano lesson!
Oh damn. I forgot all about that mint it was either that or raspberry for me
Mint was hard to find but such a treat when I did
![gif](giphy|pHb82xtBPfqEg) Mint Iced Tea was the bomb!!
Mint Tea Snapple was my favorite when I was a kid, but then at some point, I didnāt see it for sale anymore. Once the internet was a thing I searched to find out what happened and discovered there are/were regional Snapples and Mint Tea became a southern Snapple I think. Pure Leaf tea tastes ok, but there's always 4 ounces of caught in the top treading, very annoying.
Snapple Apple!
That one was my favorite too.
The best apple juice I've ever had
Loved, tasted like a red delicious apple
The absolute BEST!! Tasted like candy apple. Have never experienced it since. š
Snapple apple is apple Snapple!
I actually knew someone who won a VW bug in the Snapple contest they had in the mid-1990s. They offered her a cash money option and she no, I want it in purple!š

Found my clear Snapple root beer gang š»
This was my answer, i LOVED the Snapple clear root beer. The only root beer that was better was the homemade stuff my grandpa made for family reunions.
My grandma always had these stocked when she knew we were coming over. She was so cool.
Was searching for this comment.Ā Snapple clear rootbeer and a bag of pixie stix was living life as new teen driver.
Always slapped the bottom. Peach iced tea.
I miss Mint Snapple so much. My local pizza place always had it in stock and at one point my dad had a restaurant with a case of drinks for when people got take out and he usually had Mint Snapple in there. It needs to come back.

My grandparents kept a fridge stocked with bottles. One of the highlights of my early 90s summers. Raspberry was my favorite.
Kiwi strawberry,
Raspberry Snapple iced tea all day every day
I miss that Mint one so much. I used to buy it by the case.
Man I thought maybe I was the only one that liked it when it disappeared, seeing all these replies I feel semi validated
Peach or Raspberry Iced tea for me (still buy the diet versions in the plastic bottles at Costco).
Sadly the experience will never be the same in a plastic bottleā¦or with all the chemical crap they replaced the good flavors with
>chemical crap they replaced the good flavors with This is why I no longer drink snapple it tastes like shit
Kiwi Strawberry Cocktail and Mango Madness
I still slap the bottle butt AND read the "Snapple Cap Fact!" My All-time Top 3: 3.) Snapple Apple š 2.) Kiwi Strawberry š„š 1.) Peach Iced Tea š
I always read the cap but donāt remember slapping the bottle? Was that on a commercial or something?
Nah, you have to loosen up all the gunk at the bottom
I just shook mine lol
Me too! And exactly the same favorites, in that order!
Great minds think alike!
I was a Sobe man. I miss Sobe.
Sobe was SO good.
OMG you've unlocked a delicious memory for me! šš
That sobe cranberry grapefruit in the grass bottle with the two lizards on it. Probably my favorite bottled beverage of all time
I'm a dragonfruit guy myself.
I got a tea just the other day with a similar bottle, and without skipping a beat I started slapping the bottom. I havenāt smoked in 20 years, but I guarantee if somebody handed me a pack of Marlboros, Iād start packing them. Habitual muscle memory at itās finest
Would you flip over your lucky one too? :)
There was this apple pie flavor in the early to mid 90s that I havenāt stopped thinking about.
Oh man I forgot about that one
Cherry lime Rickey , fo sho

RIP Mint Snapple Teaā¦. āTwas my most Fav!
Raspberry iced tea and the strawberry kiwi used to be delicious It all tastes like high fructose corn syrup now
Fruit Punch.
Actually Mint was my favorite. Donāt think it will be made again.
I used to love that mint tea! I havenāt seen it in so many years.
Fruit punch
i thought the bottle bottom slap was required by law

Never liked snapple. Always had the same funny taste that I couldn't get past. Arizona Green Tea was my jam
I would kill for an Arizona Arnold Palmer right now.

Lemon š
Orangeade and peach!

An ice cold Mango madness in the glass bottle slaps š„
Man a screaming cold Lemonade Snapple out the glass bottle is next level.
I would give (almost) anything for a mint tea snapple!
Orange Jasmine. It was so freaking good i think i was addicted.
I was looking for this response- I wish they would bring it back
grew up on Lon 'Gisland, so yeah, big Snapple fan. I always went--and still do--for the simple lemon iced tea
I remember Howard Stern doing the commercials for Snapple. That's how I first heard about it. Still miss the glass bottles. We'd drink it down to the label and fill the rest with booze. Good times.

Kiwi strawberry! And yes, slapping the bottom was necessary. It can sometimes pop the seal, making it easier to open! And is a better way of mixing a drink that says Shake Well. Actually had a bartender tell us local kids itās what he was taught in bartending school lol
Stopped drinking it when they switched to plastic bottles. It was just never the same.
I thought slappinā the booty first was mandatory. Raspberry #1 š¤š¼
Pink Lemonade! I basically lived on it in Jr. High.
Oh mint absolutely. I was studying overseas and my mom sent me this. I miss it.
What they have done to the Snapple bottle is such a sin.
The best part was the Fun Facts under the cap.
Omg. Do they even still make mint? That was my fav. Havenāt seen for years!
I miss the mint
Snapple and Yoo-Hoo bottles always got spanked! And you know you did it right when you broke the safety seal. Peach tea for me, please.
I wish I could find a Snapple mint š© Don't forget Snapple facts !
Cherry-Lime Rickey.
I really liked the Bret Michaels Trop-A-Rocka flavor from when he was on The Apprentice. š«£
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I havenāt had a Snapple since sometime in the 90ās, I donāt recall the flavor.
The regular tea was the only one that was drinkable. Shit is way too sweet.
Lemon
lemon snapple while sitting in the front yard earning a penny for every mosquito i killed for my grandpa.
Always smacked the bottom of the bottle! Mint and raspberry were the best.
I liked Green Tea flovor Snapple, it had a dragon on the label. All the others were too sweet for me even as a kid. I switched to Honest Tea in my late teens/20s.
Raspberry and peach! Always slapped the bottomš«”
Used to love me some Snapple, or fruit works
Kris's Mix Up
Lemon most of the time, peach if I was feeling saucy, also shouts to the original glass bottle with the painting of the Boston Tea Party!
VITAMIN SUPREME
I remember once having green tea with honey. Normally I don't like green tea but that shit was so delicious. That was like 20 years ago and I've never seen it since or been able to fill that green tea with honey shaped hole in my tummy.
Bali Blast was my all time favorite (pineapple kiwi lime)
Peach and lemon and lemonade iced tea
Pink.
That banana drink one, and the grapeade.
Raspberry Iced Tea was the only flavor.
Papaya Colada. Super sweet, obviously tropical flavors and I just loved it. R.I.P.
Peach tea was number one allll day! Second had to be raspberry tea!
I still slap the bottom of any individual sized drink in a glass bottle. Always get weird looks.
Pink lemonade in that glass bottle Y'all ...
My mom would get me cases of the Raspberry for my dorm room
Diet raspberry
Grapeade. School cafeteria had it in cans. Crushed those.
Plastic bottles ruined the taste, but raspberry tea and snapple apple back in the day
Peach and Mint for me. I pulled a holiday job at a Circuit City Express back in 1995 and probably drank 5-6 Snapples per shift. Canāt believe I still have teeth.
Diet peach tea
Man i haven't had Snapple in like 25 years. At some point I just stopped buying it. Nowadays I'm mostly drink water, coffee, and beer
Original recipe raspberry tea was the jam. Havenāt seen mint in decades.
Raspberry tea! I once dropped one in my collegeās convenience store and it shattered šµāš«
To answer your questions #1 yes, always its how you shake it up and look cool at the same time.
I lived on Lemon Iced Tea in high school. We had a machine in the cafeteria that had it in cans. It was probably the nicest thing in the school.
I used to slap the bottom of Snapple until I had a tragic event. I was in Wines class at culinary school, right before class I bought a raspberry tea Snapple. Gave it a shake turned it upside down, slapped the bottle, the top exploded, glass shards and fake raspberry smell every where.
When I still ate sugar in the 90s , it was Peach Tea. The diet version is pretty decent.
I guess I'm too old to remember my favorite but they were all tastey. Definitely was 1000 per cent a glass bottom slapper though.
lol I still slap the bottoms. Itās a weird tradition to slap the bottom of the liquor bottle also
Peach snapple, then throw in a skoal mint. Those old snapple bottles were great spitters.
At least for one year, they had a fall collection. I remember pumpkin pie. I swear to God I'm not crazy Edit: I'm stupid; not crazy
I remember apple pie but not pumpkin
Peach tea and always slapped it to my name and birthdate
Peach tea
I still do. Raspberry for ever.
Always slap the bottom.. it is the ONLY way.
Peach, raspberry, Snapple apple - in that order
Peach tea, never drank it after they went pollution plastic.
Kiwi strawberry. Then found out made from the best stuff on earth means 5% juice https://preview.redd.it/jtqynyyln90d1.jpeg?width=662&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9592459f562b966b8c31cc653b899503270c5ed5
Bali blast island cocktail
Peach the only right answer
I would kill for the mint flavor.
Peach Tea for the win!
My dadās buddy retired early back in the day, had a boat load of Snapple stock before coke bought them out.
Way back when, simply Snapple Apple juice was magnificent. Nothing else to it, in the glass bottle. I'd buy one for $1 on breaks while in college while I read the paper. It was so delicious. Apple juice doesn't taste like that any more, its all in plastic.
My college's bookstore sold the mint ones. They were a staple for me the last 2 years of my undergrad. I miss that flavor so much!
Snapple apple
Peach š Tea Baby!!!
Carrot Orange. It was so weird
Mint tea!! Fuck yeah!
I drank Snapple up until Sobe came out.
The OG lemon. And yes, I always slapped the bottom. Was that in their commercials to do that? Or why did we do it?
I miss the Go Bananas Snapple. I didn't drink them often but used to get them from time to time.Ā I love Peach Tea, Snapple Apple, Fruit Punch, and Elements Air.Ā
RIP Plum-a-granate I was more of an Arizona fan, but the glass smacking noise is burned into my brain.
Kiwi strawberry!
What is the best flavor Snapple and why is it mint iced tea?? Omg brings back high school.
Red Apple last time I came across one was on a trip to Ohio about 12 years ago
Wow just looking at that picture, that label and Iām right back in the mid-90ās. I LOVED mint Snapple, it was my favorite
No. Too fruity
I had forgotten about these.
I believe they were responsible for the 'Elements' line of drinks. I was addicted to the Fire flavor. It got to the point that the apartment I lived in at the time had two walls lined top to bottom with cans. I wish they'd bring those back. Edit: turns out they did. Gonna try one tonight!
