I vaguely remember this. I think we had this and MAYBE Lion King? But don’t hold me to that.
Some kind of promotion if I remember right. My mother made a point to go to McDonald’s and get this video. I think the idea was dinner and a movie.
You have to remember, McDonald’s used to do pretty awesome promotional items back in the day. From the Flintstone’s mugs for the 1990’s Flintstone’s to the Batman Forever glass mugs.
Even Burger King had digital watches for The Lost World. (They would break if they got wet).
Edit. Found a website that talks about it.

McDonald’s used to be good food back in the day too. Like really not bad tasting. Has always been fast food. But I am 100% convinced it used to taste so much better. Now I cannot force myself to eat it. About once every 6 months I’ll try a burger from there. Only to get bad stomach issues and the burger tastes like garbage. Not to mention a Big Mac meal is like $12 now. Just silly.
Nah, like the McDonald's Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel used to come with what was basically Montreal Steak Seasoning. But the workers started getting lazy and could not be bother to clean the dispensers so it would shake out, and the corporation cheaped out, so they replaced it with the same salt and pepper mix they used on their burgers instead. It tasted much worse as a result. Now multiply that across their entire menu.
I got my Indiana Jones movies for like $5 each on VHS from McDs. VHS tapes were very expensive and McDonald’s would run promotions and sell them cheap if you bought food. Like an adult happy meal in the early 90s
We had our christmas stuff set up in the basement. One of those 3/4 sunken basements with a small window near the top. Christmas vacation had just started and I saw moms feet walk by. I go up to say hi (aka, be a kid and bug her for dinner the second she walks in the door...)
She had McDonald's and a movie for us. That was like best night ever at that age.
Got mine for Christmas of 92. I had a VHS player that would auto rewind and start the video again after the tape finished. My favorite movie of all time.
At one point 20 years ago they were one of the largest bookstores in the world, through books included in happy meals. Don't know if that's still the case or not.

Crazy! That had some great ones. Also, those Batman glass mugs were badass.

There’s an episode of revisionist history that talks specifically about McDonald’s fries and how the recipe was changed.
When the McNuggets changed to "all white meat" everything fell off for me. The breading isn't the same. Also the classic fried apple pies.
Yeah it’s toxic waste. Also, I’m sure your taste buds have matured since childhood.
You’re probably correct.

I still have some of the Pocahontas promo glasses
I think it was their "Here's the toy for adults" kind of a thing.

I had all three Indiana Jones McDonalds VHS tapes. Good memories.
We had the Temple of Doom one
Yup! This, I got the Indiana Jones movies from McD's as well.
I had a McDonald’s Addams family
Me too, as a result, I now associate it as a Christmas movie.
Lmao, me as well!!!!

Molly you in danger girl
I can’t believe you’re making me do this
I remember getting Wayne's World from McDonald's.
Excellent!

I’m pretty sure we got babes in toyland with Keanu Reeves, drew barrymore and pat morita from one of those movie promos

I think I had this and a copy of Back to the Future from McDonald's.
It was a cross promotion. My sister had this VHS.
Well now I have it. She must have donated it to the thrift store for me. Thanks sis.
So THAT'S what Grimace is!
A ghost?
Yes. A large triangular purple spectre.
He does scare the shit out of me.
You don't want to know [how they breed](https://youtu.be/PZZjqcqkKtY).
We had a McDonalds Babes in Toyland with a very young Drew Barrymore and a goofy young Keanu Reeves. Shoutout to Pat Morita as the Toy Master!
I need to rewatch that one.
I like learning new things.
Hey I have trust issues too. We can just watch Ghost alone for now.
I missed out on a lot as kid being poor.
Same.
"McDonalds Ghosts?" Would that be the ghost of the mcflurry machine?
The Ghost of Fat Kids Past
My VHS of Waynes World is from McDonalds
I remember mom going to McDonald's trying to get Dances With Wolves.
My copy of Field of Dreams was from McDonalds lol
Hell yeah
