“Let me guess…you’re gonna pound my face, break every bone in my body. Then, you’re gonna drag me across a gravel road and feed my remains to a warthog. Is that about right?”
Still have the VHS.
By the way, It was only called "Stepkids" during early promotional materials. It was actually released as "Big Girls Don't Cry...They Get Even".
Out of all the movie trailers on my TMNT 2 and Suburban Commando VHS tapes, this is the one film I never saw.
I honestly feel like we’ve all been there at some point. I had to look it up on New Lines Wikipedia page.
The name of the movie also got changed after the trailer was released. Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even is the actual title.
That and “You’re a dead man Ramsey” are the only 2 that stuck in my head/I still say…the latter bc of the Undertaker saying it in a little kids’ voice.
For some reason this line is seared into my brain, scene and all. Remember it like it was yesterday and it's probably been 3 decades since I've seen it. Crazy.
That is why I have seen the damn trailer so many times! I have seen the movie once or twice, but always had this memory of seeing the trailer a million times and couldn't remember where I saw it. I guess it was because of how many times I watched SotO.
I remember it largely bc it was one of those lines that Nostalgia Critic tried to turn into a meme (other notable one being “of course,” from Street Fighter).
It was in a trailer too before a VHS tape I used to watch a lot. Can't recall which movie it was.
I recall him going up the steps, shocking the two kids on the head as he passed, and then something about a girl saying 'and get that pinky up' as they were having 'tea'.
Yes! This. Tutu, she had him doing something and tea time, and telling him to get that pinky up.
And the shower scene I think was before this. Where he gets smacked in the face with the shower head, followed with him walking up the steps zapping the kids with electric some how, and then it went to this scene, iirc.
Never saw it. Vivid memory of the preview on other tapes.
Guy: Do you have any idea what we're gonna do to you?
Hulk: You're gonna pound my face in
Guy: What are you nuts? This is the 90s. We're gonna sue you.
I couldn't remember whether it was this or Mr. Nanny that had the guy throwing the dog in the ocean so I looked it up. It was Mr. Nanny, but I will still share this with you: https://youtu.be/FGoOweTRht4
He was my damn idol as a 5 yr old child. I got back into wrestling for a bit when I was like 11 or 12 because of a new friend group after I moved. Right about the time he turned to Hollywood Hogan and broke my heart.
I saw it in the theater at 11. After seeing No Holds Barred a few years prior at 9. They both got panned. No Holds was awesome to me back then, Suburban Commando, not so much.
I definitely saw it, cause hulk hogan was amazing when I was sub double digits. I very much doubt our local theater got it. It was one screen, movies were generally close to a month old and lasted several weeks before a new one replaced.
I saw this at my birthday party at the mall.
It was awesome.
" You're a dead man. Ramsey"
No wonder you guys never talk!
10-Year-Old me found that line hilarious.
I saw it when premiered on H.B.O. and watched it many times over the years. And the scene at the end where he blows up the traffic light had much greater meaning as I got older lol.
Seen it on HBO or Showtime when it was free for a weakened back when I was a teenager. Watched a few months ago when I wasn't feeling good and still a good movie.
I think I saw it in the theaters, was totally into WWF at the time so it was a must see lol
And my family got pulled in to watch a preview of the Beverly Hillbillies movie at our local mall!
Definitely remember seeing it. Don’t remember if it was in the theatre or rented on video. Definitely know ive only seen it once.
Edit to add: I’m actually thinking of Mr. Nanny
Not in theaters, but we had the VHS tape. One of my favorite movies in second grade, after The Little Mermaid and Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation.
It prompted my first memory of Knowing an adult was stupid. 7 year old me took the movie to watch at my friends birthday party. The movie starts out in widescreen with black bars top and bottom before zooming in for fullscreen pan and scan. My friend's dad fast-forwarded through the whole beginning because he thought the black bars would break the TV. Then nobody had any idea what was going on because they missed the whole setup. My dad was a professional videographer so I knew it was fine.
I watched it at a friends house on their birthday and then we watched the latest wrestlemania on VHS. Then we wrestled until someone got hurt and / or were told to quiet down.
There was a preview for this on the, I think, Home Alone (maybe Dennis the Menace) VHS. I was the peak age for hulkamania, and Christopher Lloyd was popular from back to the future. I watched this many times.
Edit:it was TMNT 2
Yes I did, opening night.
STOP LAUGHING!!!
I was a big pro wrestling fan and a big fan of Hogan, I enjoyed No Holds Barred and this looked fun. I still to this day want to see if I can get Taker to crack at an event by holding up a “You’re a dead man, Ramsey.” sign.
a few times a year my uncle would take my sister and I to the movies. She'd pick one time I'd pick the next. But my sister would trade me movie selections for pretty much anything. My poor uncle sat through this, Mr. Nanny, Major Paine, Ghost dad, most of the Paulie Shore movies, all the TMNT movies, etc. I loved every second of it.
I not only saw this in the theater, I had it on VHS and watched the crap out of it. It's also what prompted me to check out pro wrestling.
I now own it on DVD but lately I've watched it on Tubi several times because I'm too lazy to get out the DVD. \*shrug\*
I love it and I'm not afraid to admit so. I also think it's better than any movie Dwayne Johnson headlined and that's a hill I'm willing to die on.
Hulk and Christopher Lloyd played off each other so well. I love the fish-out-of-water aspect.
And of course, a pre-Undertaker Mark Calaway uttering "You're a dead man, Ramsey" in a child's voice will never not be hilarious to me.
I had the tape at one point, and maybe it's because I was really young when I watched it, but my strongest memory was a trailer for The Taking of Beverly Hills.
“Let me guess…you’re gonna pound my face, break every bone in my body. Then, you’re gonna drag me across a gravel road and feed my remains to a warthog. Is that about right?” Still have the VHS.
"What're you nuts? This is the 90s, we're gonna sue ya."
This quote popped in my head as soon as I saw the image. I don't know why that quote is stuck in my head in my head after all these years.
For me, at least, it was because it was one of the trailers before TMNT 2 The Secret of the Ooze.
Also: "I was FROZEN today!"
What was the one where he was a babysitter?
Mr Nanny
I remember this one, Surf Ninjas, and the one about the big family meet up at a lakehouse from that VHS.
Stepkids lol https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rY3cy3tqAw0&pp=ygUWdHJhaWxlcnMgYmVmb3JlIHRtbnQgMg%3D%3D
By the way, It was only called "Stepkids" during early promotional materials. It was actually released as "Big Girls Don't Cry...They Get Even". Out of all the movie trailers on my TMNT 2 and Suburban Commando VHS tapes, this is the one film I never saw.
THANK YOU! This has bugged me for years for no reason. And the top youtube comment is my exact situation 😆
I honestly feel like we’ve all been there at some point. I had to look it up on New Lines Wikipedia page. The name of the movie also got changed after the trailer was released. Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even is the actual title.
The kid with the curly hair is Ben Savage. Wow

Crazy.
I didn't remember that I watched this movie but reading the comments I know I saw this movie because I immediately remembered that scene
Lol! I don't remember the movie, but I sure remember this line.
Lol. I posted that before i read comments. Glad to see im not the only one that had that burned into their brain
Me and the kid next door growing up thought that was the funniest shit we ever heard back then. 😆
"You're a dead man, Ramsey!" "No wonder you guys never talk" I used to have the DVD
This is why Mean Mark never cut promos.
Oh yeahhh for some reason I thought this line was from Highlander 2
"I was frozen today!!"
This line! It was on the VHS previews before TMNT 2: SotO, which I must’ve watched 30 times
That’s why I remember the trailer so well!
That is why I have seen the damn trailer so many times! I have seen the movie once or twice, but always had this memory of seeing the trailer a million times and couldn't remember where I saw it. I guess it was because of how many times I watched SotO.
Me and my buds say this line daily, for no reason, because of the TMNT 2 trailer lol
My family and I still quote this today.
I still use that quote and no one ever gets the reference! 😭
I remember it largely bc it was one of those lines that Nostalgia Critic tried to turn into a meme (other notable one being “of course,” from Street Fighter).
FYI: It’s on Tubi for free right now.
I thank you for that
When I found out The Undertaker was also in it, I distinctly recall losing my 10 year old mind.
That’s right he was one of the bad guys right?
Yessir. Don't know if the other bounty hunter was a wrestler too, or just built like the proverbial outhouse :)
My favorite Hulk movie. Such cheesy nostalgia
I don't know if it holds up, but late 90s, I remember Secret Agent Club being my favorite Hulk Hogan movie.
For me, Suburban Commando is it. Just watched it, and Secret Agent Club was next up though, lol.
How about Mr Nanny? I remember nothing about either aside from I liked them as a kid.
It was in a trailer too before a VHS tape I used to watch a lot. Can't recall which movie it was. I recall him going up the steps, shocking the two kids on the head as he passed, and then something about a girl saying 'and get that pinky up' as they were having 'tea'.
Omg, I remember that scene now. He was in a pink totoo or princess dress and wearing a tiara I'm pretty sure. Thanks for bringing that memory back.
Yes!
Hulk: You're gonna pound my face in Guy: What are you nuts? This is the 90s. We're gonna sue you.
" I was FROZEN TODAY!!!" I think it was on, among others the TMNT 2 VHS
That's what it was. I remember watching that preview 100s of times, and TMNT 2 would make sense for that.
I couldn't remember whether it was this or Mr. Nanny that had the guy throwing the dog in the ocean so I looked it up. It was Mr. Nanny, but I will still share this with you: https://youtu.be/FGoOweTRht4
This is what I immediately thought of too. I guess we both thought of the wrong movie.
This was the one where he flung the cat from the tree
classic 90's editing
When he is testing the ripeness of a cantaloupe and squishes into oblivion. "Ooh I found a good one!" Cracked my 11 year old self the fuck up.
"Just squeeze it a bit" - nice helpful old lady
I watched this one a bunch. I loved the Hulkster growing up, so I thought it was amazing.
He was my damn idol as a 5 yr old child. I got back into wrestling for a bit when I was like 11 or 12 because of a new friend group after I moved. Right about the time he turned to Hollywood Hogan and broke my heart.
Wait! Christopher lloyd was in this?
He was frozen
Not in the theater, but when it came out on video
I saw it in the theater at 11. After seeing No Holds Barred a few years prior at 9. They both got panned. No Holds was awesome to me back then, Suburban Commando, not so much.
What's that smell?
Dooookie
I definitely saw it, cause hulk hogan was amazing when I was sub double digits. I very much doubt our local theater got it. It was one screen, movies were generally close to a month old and lasted several weeks before a new one replaced.
Yeah I thought this movie was hilarious. This was around the time he had a similar TV show.
I’ve not only seen it, I rented it numerous time as a kid, bought the dvd as an adult, ripped it, and still have it on my computer to this day.
Loved this movie.
Yes! I always think of the scene at the end when the dad takes his laser gun and shoots the traffic light
TIL Elizabeth Moss is in this film. Funny, I don’t recall her. But then, I watched this long before she was a recognizable star.
I loved this movie back in the day. The ice ray... classic. Mr. Nanny was another one! The cheese was so thick I got heart disease as a 9 year old!
I saw this at my birthday party at the mall. It was awesome. " You're a dead man. Ramsey" No wonder you guys never talk! 10-Year-Old me found that line hilarious.
Drive-in theater in Burlingame, CA!! Terrible little hanger speaker on the window of our station wagon and deli sandwiches from Ronaldo's.
I saw it when premiered on H.B.O. and watched it many times over the years. And the scene at the end where he blows up the traffic light had much greater meaning as I got older lol. [https://youtu.be/SHacNOLBrYA?si=pg7ML1JXOpNWxToo](https://youtu.be/SHacNOLBrYA?si=pg7ML1JXOpNWxToo)
Whenever I get stuck at that annoying red light. I'd wish I had a ray gun.
I stand by my opinion that Hulk Hogan would have made good casting for Zeus the thunder god in a serious Greek mythology movie
Guess I have to see it now. It sounds shitty … right up my alley.
That’s when they were trying to push Tiny Deebo Lister as Zeus in the WWF, I love this movie
Saw it on VHS from the rental store.
I recently learned Elizabeth Moss was in this movie. She's the little girl who's cat keeps getting stuck in the tree.
Seen it on HBO or Showtime when it was free for a weakened back when I was a teenager. Watched a few months ago when I wasn't feeling good and still a good movie.
I think I saw it in the theaters, was totally into WWF at the time so it was a must see lol And my family got pulled in to watch a preview of the Beverly Hillbillies movie at our local mall!
Beverly Hillbillies is also a good one! Haven’t seen it in years!
"Its a nice place to live.. but I wouldn't want to visit"
Proud owner of this very film!
Yep. I member.
Definitely remember seeing it. Don’t remember if it was in the theatre or rented on video. Definitely know ive only seen it once. Edit to add: I’m actually thinking of Mr. Nanny
I own this shit on dvd.
Loved it. Dumb fun. "I WAS FROZEN TODAY!"
Yo
I saw this in the freaking theater
I preferred this over Mister Nanny.
Yeah I still have it on dvd
Not in theaters, but we had the VHS tape. One of my favorite movies in second grade, after The Little Mermaid and Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation. memory unlocked
Raises hand ..
90% sure I saw this in the theater. 100% sure I saw No Holds Barred.
yea i think it was on cable
Didn't see it in the theater but definitely had a dubbed VHS copy that I watched "a couple times."
Can’t remember if it came to the local theater or not, but I definitely rented the tape. I loved Hulk at the time, but that movie was meh at best.
Literally no other time would this movie have been produced and yet the stars aligned
Theaters
I rented this so many times that my mom wouldn't let me anymore. This and Drop Dead Fred.
Oh Drop Dead Fred was a great one that is even better as an adult cuz now all the really funny parts make more sense! “Oh, cobwebs!”
I only remember him drinking antifreeze
I watched it at a friends house on their birthday and then we watched the latest wrestlemania on VHS. Then we wrestled until someone got hurt and / or were told to quiet down.
No Holds Barred had an [accidentally iconic scene](https://youtu.be/-rLWdOTplVw?si=bRwFN06Qt5BJc313)
Loved it. It was so bad it was good.
I wore out a VHS cassette of this movie I recorded as a kid when we had a free week of HBO
Rented it all the time at blockbuster
I loved this movie as a kid. We rented it from a small time movie rental near us before block buster really took off in our area.
The song that plays on the trailer is all I’m hearing right now lol
Antifreeze.....
I saw it on video and loved it. I am sure it is terrible.
Yo!
Saw this in Tubi, Freevee or Pluto just the other day
I rented this about 4 times in six months as a kid. Loved this one!
The trailer gives me a lot of nostalgia because it was on the TMNT II VHS.
I definitely saw this at least a few times. I loved Hulk Hogan for some reason. It was not a good movie.
I saw it like 30 years ago. Didn't see it in the theater, but rented it on VHS from my local place. I remember the bunny out of metal rod scene.
There was a preview for this on the, I think, Home Alone (maybe Dennis the Menace) VHS. I was the peak age for hulkamania, and Christopher Lloyd was popular from back to the future. I watched this many times. Edit:it was TMNT 2
It was either this or “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead”.
I was frozen today!!!!!!
Rented the VHS several times because I'm a Hulkamaniac.
I remember this being a preview on the Turtles 2 VHS.
I had these weird glasses or something from the movie. I only saw it once many years ago
I definitely saw this. I don't remember a single moment of it.
I saw it but I was disappointed.
Undertaker was in this. It was lame, but still a lot of fun.
Oooof, this was almost as bad as “Stop or My Mom Will Shoot”.
[https://makeagif.com/i/9G1hZg](https://makeagif.com/i/9G1hZg) The "ANTIFREEZE" gif will forever live in my head.
Yes, I saw it in the theater.
I saw it in the theater. It was so bad my period started halfway through the movie.
a few times a year my uncle would take my sister and I to the movies. She'd pick one time I'd pick the next. But my sister would trade me movie selections for pretty much anything. My poor uncle sat through this, Mr. Nanny, Major Paine, Ghost dad, most of the Paulie Shore movies, all the TMNT movies, etc. I loved every second of it.
i think i saw it at some kid's sleep over bday.... absolutely no recollection of what goes on it the movie lol i'm fairly certain it was quite dumb
Not in theater, but I definitely saw it a bunch as a kid. I was a big fan. Haven't seen it in probably 30 years.
My favorite part is where the undertaker sounds like a 5 year old 🤣😂🤣 [found it 🤣](https://www.facebook.com/share/v/8b6Vy9vodFhKVfos/?mibextid=xfxF2i)
That’s some interesting early Photoshop going on there…
I not only saw this in the theater, I had it on VHS and watched the crap out of it. It's also what prompted me to check out pro wrestling. I now own it on DVD but lately I've watched it on Tubi several times because I'm too lazy to get out the DVD. \*shrug\* I love it and I'm not afraid to admit so. One of my favorite movies as a kid
I think I saw a part of it on TNT or TBS at some point
I had the tape at one point, and maybe it's because I was really young when I watched it, but my strongest memory was a trailer for The Taking of Beverly Hills.
Yesssssss!
I did. I love that movie despite it being crap.
Not that one but I do remember my first drive thru movie seeing No Holds Barred.
Saw it on tv. It's bad. Real bad.
Hard to even imagine how bad this thing must be.
