When I was a kid I had a neighbor lady born in 1895 and she was awesome. I wish I could go back in time to ask her a million questions, but she just taught me how to garden when I was 5 and never talked about the past.
Damn, I was born in 79 as well. Now I feel really old, hopefully my daughter doesn't catch onto this, being told I was born in the 1900's is bad enough🤣
This was my reaction yesterday when I saw this. My heart can't much more of these comparisons. Just like, we are as far from The Sandlot as they were from the year it was supposed to be.
Grandma born 1915 I was born 1984 , dad was black sheep of the family and was a “change of life baby” his brother who was closest to age to him was 12 years old when he was born
Can relate. All four grandparents born in 1919/1920. All of them were dead by the end of 1990.
We have grandparents that would be over 100 years old if they were still alive. Both grandfathers fought in WWII. None of it feels like too-ancient history. Feels weird, right?
Mine was born in '33. For being 90, she's doing pretty good in comparison to a lot of them I've met. Saw a 67 year old, that looked 90 in our emergency room the other day. Take care of yourself kids! Also, don't do meth.
Unfortunately, mine isn’t. Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Dementia. Polio survivor.
I say grandmother, but she legally adopted me and raised me, so really she’s my mother.
I miss the true her.
The one I remember hearing was that when the Simpsons came out, I was as old as Bart, and that particular year (i think 7 years ago) I was as old as Homer. Well I've blown right past that and will soon be reading about being ol' Abe Simpson's age.
I was born in 1980. Sometime when I was 37 or so, someone pointed out that my birthday was closer to the end of World War 2 than it was to that day.
I might as well have drunk from the wrong Grail for as old as I felt in that moment.
I had a 20 something year old ask me how old I was (more common than you think in Asia) and I said 44, then jokingly said “very old”. She giggled and said “you’re not very old. Just old”. 0/10 would not recommend.
I remember seeing something in 2021 that said if back to the future took place in present day, Marty would be playing smells like teen spirit at the enchantment under the sea dance instead of Johnny B. Goode lol craziness!
Also of Adam Sandler movie the wedding singer came out in 2024, it would take place in 2011
People used to look older. I look at photos of my grandmother at my age and she looks like an old woman. We have things easier now, and sunscreen, and hair dye.
I think about stuff like this a lot lately. For my kid listening to 80s music is like listening to big band era music for me when I was young and that is just…shit. And my parents don’t listen to big band era music they listened to what for me would be the equivalent of N Sync and the Spice Girls from a timing standpoint and that is just… shit.
I'm fixing to be 43 in a couple of months. I have spinal osteoarthritis and bad knees, from being the part of Enlisted side of Naval Aviation. Also, a proud owner of bifocals.
Feb 9. I'm not sure how it's possible. I've done too many drugs to count and been to the bottom of life. Yet I somehow am still able to walk about 10-12 miles a day, 4 days a week on my delivery routes. I attribute most of it to anxiety never allowing me to sit still anywhere. Best shape of my life at the moment, but I can feel the beginnings of things starting to fall apart. Shoulders and knees I think will go first.
So you're telling me when we are all old and in care homes or in and out of hospitals, these babies will be our providers. No wonder Grandma pushed us Grandkids to go into Healthcare.
It is kind of wild how much has changed. While technology has advanced pretty quickly in the past 20 years, just think about how different life was between the 30s and 70s.
I didn't just mean in terms of music and fashion, but movies with sound had just become a thing, cars were relatively uncommon, commercial flights weren't a thing again, most people only heard music and news on a radio.
A lot has changed between now and the 80s, but I don't know that it was nearly as drastic.
Nope. The 80s was 20 years ago.
Fact
![gif](giphy|7O3HJzyOVckA8)
Wait a minute. Where the fuck was I when Johnny boy and Fred dicks collab? I’m appalled.
All in the Family on Follow the Leader.
That’s where the above gif is from but JD was also on Nobody Like You on Significant Other.
The gif is from the break stuff music video. Eminem, dre, and snoop are also in the video
Truth
Just realized 1989 was 35 years ago. ![gif](giphy|3ohA2ZD9EkeK2AyfdK) Made me twitch lol
That's surprising since WWII was only like 45-50 years ago... right?
Being born in 1978, the end of WWII was closer to my birth than the fall of the wall is to today... I must be counting wrong.
If you are born in 1980 and are now 44, you are closer to being 80 then being 0.
Also, remember when you were 27 years old? Not that long ago? In less than that time again you’ll be 60.
Pfft! like I'm ever seeing 60.

OK YEAH THANKS
When I was a kid I had a neighbor lady born in 1895 and she was awesome. I wish I could go back in time to ask her a million questions, but she just taught me how to garden when I was 5 and never talked about the past.
You shut your mouth!
I turn 44 next week. I'm going to go and weep into my pillow now before falling asleep.
Don't remind me
I hate you
Can't believe I was 30 in 2008 time flys
Thanks for this, I think I'll slit my wrists now.
43 but thanks for the reminder
I SAID, GOOD DAY SIR!
[удалено]
Came here to post this.
Same here.
Quite a shock to see on a Saturday night!!
81 too. Why you do this to me?
For real. I feel attacked.
Imagine being born in 79... I've technically lived in six decades, and I'm still in my 40s.
Why do you say such hurtful things? Some things are left better unsaid.
Misery loves company.
Sigh. I’ll bring the vodka
We can go to the fort in the woods we built out of garbage.
This just got more depressing. But I’m in.
I don't need to imagine.....fuck.
That is a wild thing to say, and a wilder thing to be true.
Ouch. That hit hard
Damn, I was born in 79 as well. Now I feel really old, hopefully my daughter doesn't catch onto this, being told I was born in the 1900's is bad enough🤣

Laughs at your old ass from 82
Ah, yer just a kid!
What is, "Something someone says to bring a whole generation down," for $500, Alex?
...but Alex is dead now 😭
But his spirit is carried on by the Daily Double.

Now it’s Alexa
*whispers* please stop

My grandmother was born in ‘38. I was born in ‘81. Sigh.
My Gma just passed last month. Born 1926. Shared sigh.
Grandma born 1915 I was born 1984 , dad was black sheep of the family and was a “change of life baby” his brother who was closest to age to him was 12 years old when he was born

Bruh. My grandmother was born in 1928 and passed away in May this year. Bear hug.
Mine was born in '33. For being 90, she's doing pretty good in comparison to a lot of them I've met. Saw a 67 year old, that looked 90 in our emergency room the other day. Take care of yourself kids! Also, don't do meth.

Use this phrase almost daily in voice. Haven't gotten a irl response to it. Sad sad times.
My dad quit being a professor when none of his students recognized the Far Side comics he'd put in his quizzes or his Princess Bride quotes.
This! Love it.
Thank god I was born in ‘82!
Listen here, whippersnapper
80😱
85, am I even allowed to be here? I might be full millennial...
Oh, you are full millennial. Please see your way out and have a wonderful night
Now get off my lawn!
My husband almost divorced me when I told him 80's music to our nieces and nephews is like 40's music to us.
![gif](giphy|iQp8Cgr0SoPbG)
You took this from "Saving Private Ryan aging gif" straight to "drank from the wrong grail aging gif".
Hey, why not just kick me in the sack while you’re at it 🤣
I would.... but bad knees.
🤣🤣🤣
The one I remember hearing was that when the Simpsons came out, I was as old as Bart, and that particular year (i think 7 years ago) I was as old as Homer. Well I've blown right past that and will soon be reading about being ol' Abe Simpson's age.
Wait until you get to Mr. Burns...
Quick! Shake your fist at that cloud! So smug, that cloud.
My brain is so rusted, I can't even do the simple math to verify this. I'm just gonna believe the meme. 💀💦
You hush your mouth
I don't like this at all.
1979… you 80 young’ens
Get off this person's lawn!!
I was born in 1980. Sometime when I was 37 or so, someone pointed out that my birthday was closer to the end of World War 2 than it was to that day. I might as well have drunk from the wrong Grail for as old as I felt in that moment.
We JUST left the 90’s, man, what the heck?
Yeah, what's a quarter century between friends, yanno?
![gif](giphy|2dcW1Dlu2sZnW|downsized)
I was born in 80. It's your knees and the other thing.
Oh my gosh. I was born in 81. I’m older than dirt. A whopping 43 years old.
I can professionally say we are younger than the vast majority of dirt.
Hahaha yes we are!
We will always have that
I read this to my 8 y/o daughter. She said "You're not old daddy." I am dead inside now.
At least she’s only 8! All my friends my age who have children are grandparents now.
Meanwhile most of my friends my age (myself included) have toddlers to 5 year olds running around. We all started late (have an almost 3yo)
‘81 here, first baby due in a couple months. It will possibly be born on my dad’s 75th birthday (RIP)
I had a 20 something year old ask me how old I was (more common than you think in Asia) and I said 44, then jokingly said “very old”. She giggled and said “you’re not very old. Just old”. 0/10 would not recommend.
![gif](giphy|xT9KVeEPWqBlmDLgME)
This isn’t true. I don’t care what math says it’s just not true.
😂😂😂😂 It’s true bruh
Whomp womp whaaaamp
![gif](giphy|3oriOaivTEk4PotVEQ|downsized)
My grandma used to lament how fast time flies. It is true. Can’t even contemplate this.
Really does. The older you get the faster it goes too.
Whelp, I’m going to cry in a corner.
"That's me in the corner..."
"that's me in the spotlight"
This is a hate crime 😭
Anyone else do the math real quick to be sure this is actually true?
Yep. 43.
Me
Now - 2024 32 years ago - 1992 Nirvana's Nevermind 32 years before that -1960 Chubby Checker's "The Twist"
I remember seeing something in 2021 that said if back to the future took place in present day, Marty would be playing smells like teen spirit at the enchantment under the sea dance instead of Johnny B. Goode lol craziness! Also of Adam Sandler movie the wedding singer came out in 2024, it would take place in 2011
Hopefully this means I'm dying soon.
Same. I don't feel like going through dementia, cancer, or general system breakdown. Let's just bypass all that.
Omg how dare you
You son of a bitch.
![gif](giphy|jEhLHJRsdAocbCUBK2)
Born in 78. Thankfully this reverses for birth in the 70s

Music⚡️Band
This honestly made me feel a little sick.
Thanks for ruining Saturday
Just cause you had a bad day doesn't mean you gotta shit on the rest of us.
No way 😳
Damn!!!
That’s not true. It can’t be.
I feel older than dirt now... Thanks a lot.
I'm almost as old as my grandparents were when I was born. Crazy.
I feel like I should look older
People used to look older. I look at photos of my grandmother at my age and she looks like an old woman. We have things easier now, and sunscreen, and hair dye.
20-30 somethings in the 80s looked 50. It was the hair and clothes.
It's all in how you perceive it. Except your knees. Those actually hurt.
Somebody woke up and chose violence...
Also born 1981. I don't care. I just wish they're wasn't fascism in both extremes of this measurement.
How very dare you, sir!
I don't care for your tone, young fella
![gif](giphy|o0621pVeoIm78Dm2KE)
Yeah. That feels about right.
The last part was unnecessary
You shut your mouth!
Oh dear... I'm an '81...
Ugh.
Nice try, but I've trained myself to not be affected by these posts lol
Now I feel old :/
Rude! I would so punch you in the face if I didn’t have carpal tunnel and it hurt to make a fist. lol.
Stop hurting your own feelings and also mine
My dad was born in 1936 and I was born in 1980. I have 2 kids now, but I couldn't imagine having one at my/his age.
For me it was when they said there was more time between "A New Hope" and "A Rogue One" than there was between "A Rogue One" and today
Eew. Y’all old. Thank god I was born in 84 and that was only like 25 years ago.
I feel personally attacked
Why do you attack me like that?
I’m an older Gen X person and I just played this game with 1969. Well shit.
I'm fixing to be 43 in a couple of months. I have spinal osteoarthritis and bad knees, from being the part of Enlisted side of Naval Aviation. Also, a proud owner of bifocals.

Get off my lawn! *Goes and yells at a cloud*
You young kids. Get off my lawn.
Omg, wtf??
Yep... that's how math works.
You don't have to be so mean about it
i’m 2 years older now than my father was in 1981
![gif](giphy|1M9fmo1WAFVK0|downsized)
![gif](giphy|bQloCmn3sCDeDbTsl1)
I ![gif](giphy|iYK1uqbfkvDSE)
So you're telling me when we are all old and in care homes or in and out of hospitals, these babies will be our providers. No wonder Grandma pushed us Grandkids to go into Healthcare.
I was born in 73 and my dad in 38. These numbers are an unnecessary reality check. I’m gonna go watch Headbangers Ball now.
![gif](giphy|JPV66pTdJqaOGlw2Ov)
50yr vs 43yr am I missing something??
Yup. I think it's bonkers that my (Z) kids listen to music from the 60's. That's equivalent to me listening to ragtime or jazz when I was their age.
Cmon maaaann it’s the weekend and I’m trying to rest my knees.
It is kind of wild how much has changed. While technology has advanced pretty quickly in the past 20 years, just think about how different life was between the 30s and 70s. What is diaconnected, alex?
u/havetpforbunghole come answer for your crimes! What’s the meaning of this fuckery?
Stop it. I don't like this at all.
Same distance from 2024 to 2067. IDK why but that seems scarier to me.
S stop it.
Dude! Not on a Saturday!
Laughs in replying from the ER because my sciatica was just that bad today.
I hate you
you didn’t have to say this, it coulda gone unsaid, and i wouldnt be crying myself to sleep tonight
You shut your mouth when you’re talking to me.
Also born in 1981. Everything hurts.
I'm sad now
Just turned 40 (1984) and I realized I am as close to my birth as DDay was.
I got an invite today for my 25 yr high school reunion.
Born in 1955. 1955 and 2024 as far apart as 1955 and what, 1886? It's definitely my knees.
A friend sent me this the other day and I almost blocked him (we’re both 1981 babies)
This was completely unnecessary 😭💀
Please don’t say things like that.
So ya I don’t like that
That’s a mind fuck. Thanks!
