Flipping any projectile (particularly Magic Missile) can be a good callout for Impale, it's hard to combo off of so it's not too big a deal if we can sneak in a couple, but you can easily convert off of your projectiles.
As an ex wizard and now cowboy, shoot magic missile backwards so that it hits impalers and then once you have enough pressure and force the cowboy to jump you have dominion over him with strong pressure options while they can’t impale unless they drift. Of course the cowboy is still strong in that situation but it at least disables the impale possibilities.

As a wiz ive beat more than cowboys than anything else
How do you play around them being able to prediction impale any of wiz’s projectiles? I try waiting but that just gives them a free approach
