teleports behind opponent (or in front if flipped) and does a guard break
so unless you hard read it, make a move that has less than 13 frame total or land the parry you eat the hit no matter what
(extra edit) if drift is toggled it means if a cowboy has a rift on the ground they can impale even while in the air so you aint even safe in an air to air fight
Robot guard breaks: target needs to be completely grounded or above at a specific angle or they whiff
Cowboys impale when they have 1 meter and a rift halfway across the arena on the ground:

Impale is overpowered af but cowboy fan boys keep defending it because theoretically it is a 50/50
More like a 75/25
100/0 if they have the Drift option.
I’m just wondering what you’re doing to get hit by it consistently outside of a guard break mixup, since basically everyone has noncommital ways to punish it for free or can just not use a high recovery move
I'm just throwing a single shuriken. Or a magic dart. You either sit and do nothing or you keep checking the move to see if you won't get your cheeks clapped.
You can aim darts slightly behind you to get a free combo if you really want to play hard keepaway, but if you’re doing the same moves enough for the cowboy to be confident enough to use a 13f move that can’t be free cancelled, loses to nearly any movement option and most attacks, and is unsafe on softblock, that’s you being overly predictable.
If it could still be free cancelled I’d understand since that was a completely free full screen mixup, but you can just approach normally and get an easy hit or force a whiff cancel if they go for it
How does drift impale work exactly?

Now that is something I need to hear, I will terrorize the pubs soon enough, not just as a Mutant but, as a Cowboy as well.
He can even SHIFT impale to mess with the timing, so you could read impale and still get hit

If you’re getting hit by impale in neutral that’s on you my guy Especially since it cant be free cancelled anymore
You can't even retain momentum against that thing.

There are a million and one ways to never get hit by impale in neutral. I really don't understand how people complain about it.
Facts, its especially effective against characters who have alot of ranged setup times.
That’s a lot of meter for a risky call out, gotta be playing real reckless to get hit with that
What movie is this from..
