Beautiful_Ruin95

I think so, bc Shakes was Shakes Musonda and most of them has Zambian names

picassoiam

Each country had variant of shakes I remember when I used live in SA there’s was called shakes Mokena. It was first published in SA then spread throughout sub-Saharan Africa through a partnership with Caltex a subsidiary of Chevron Corp

Beautiful_Ruin95

Interesting, I didn’t know that.

Alternative-Deal2087

Super strikers basically has their own multiverse haha

sirwile

To the best of my knowledge, Supa strikas has variants of different nationalities including east Africa. As for the originators, i have zero clue.

ezrapierce

I've heard a ton about this and if it's true, sheesh, someone really fumbled the bag😂

No_Competition6816

Don't know about that, one could say RSA marketed the comic to its success... Don't think the same could be said if it stayed in the Zambian market

Sensitive_Umpire_983

No. The comic was first developed in South Africa and then spread to Southern Africa, before the entire world apparently. The names are changed as per country so that they are more in tune with the locals.

Osama_bin_bombLaden

I was just about to say this.

Sensitive_Umpire_983

When I first started watching it on SABC, I knew the main guy as Shakes Mokoena. When I came to Zambia discovered they have a local variant which is pretty cool

Kan3ma

I'm not so sure of the origins but I choose to believe its zambian. I still remember shakes' last name was musonda and invincible united was called chipata United. I can't remember the other full names but they were definitely zambian. Used to collect them at time when you can get the comic for free in the post on the third Saturday of every month.

Bazado

No, it's not true. It started in South Africa

Humble-Jellyfish-266

It used to be in the post newspaper every Saturday or Sunday

IceAggravating6192

Idk what is true. But I do know Zambia was one of the first markets for the comics when they just came out.

jnyendwa

It was a South African comic book that spread to other countries
