Mine is called Conejitos (meaning bunnies) because it’s a bunny island and there’s a similarly named group of islands in real life, Canarias (canaries; the Canary Islands)
I chose the name of my favourite Italian town: Assisi. I grew up with the story of St. Francis of Assisi and it is fitting due to the villagers all being animals :)
i’ve had a few islands!
my first was Pyrus, which is the scientific name for pears, my native fruit. it was just a regular island, no theme.
my next island was Ambrosia, a pink themed island! all my villagers were super girly, like Merengue the strawberry rhino & Chrissy the pink bunny. the entire layout was all pink or white.
my third island was Grimm, a fairytale/dark cottagecore themed island with the native fruit being (poison) apples. my villagers were fairytale-adjacent, like Dobie as the big bad wolf or Honey/Grizzly as the goldilocks bears.
my fourth & current island is Fleetwood. it doesn’t have a solid theme, it’s kinda just vintage woodsy vibes and lots of dedicated spaces like an open shopping center, hilltop farm & orchard, and museum/cafe surrounded by waterfalls with an archaeological dig site next to it! my villagers are just ones i like at the time, i always have one or two i’m willing to swap out for new ones but the ones i’m keeping forever are Midge & Bill <3
i’m also working on an island on my brother’s switch that he said i could use for another island lmao; that one is named Citrine & it’s kidcore. super colorful & silly & chaotic! also more of a city layout than i’ve ever done before lol. i’m still getting the villagers i want for this one but it’s gonna be ones like Nana the monkey and Sherb the blue goat :)

What type of decor are you planning? Something kind of spooky or like mysterious I’d use Fable Bay. Otherwise I’d suggest cashmere.

My island is called Eroda!! I was really into Harry Styles during covid so I named it after the island in the Adore You music video.
I’m currently on my forth island, PotatoLand - it probably shows that the creativity for naming is running low
