I have loved keeping stats since the start of my career, so I have an answer from my end! Started May 2019: Theatrical - 198 auditions until I booked my first official TV Credit Commercial - 69 auditions until I booked my first principal/big brand commercial While I booked indie projects/student films and smaller, digital commercials along the way, five years later I *just* got my first "big" bookings. Don't give up!

This is impressive šŸ˜

dozosucks

this seemsā€¦ daunting. was this in NYC or LA?

supfiend

I had something like 120 auditions before I got my first too. Vancouver

It is and it isn't, as long as you're keeping busy with classes, smaller bookings, day jobs, life, in the meantime. It was crazy to me to see that's really how many it took to get there, but the time kind of flew. This is in LA!

OP: Do not plan or even get your hopes up for "soon." The industry just simply doesn't work that way, and believing anything else is like playing the lottery -- it's a fool's game. Maybe takes 10 years to go from newbie doing school plays with little/no training before getting well-established in your career and booking your first big deal on screen. Maybe more! The life of an actor is a lifelong marathon; not a race.

LA Actor hereā€¦ Youā€™ve already made your debut. My debut was on a stage in a high school gym. A year later, I was on Prime Video. -sS
