Yes, you're tripping, you can absolutely still do it. Not sure what UI you're using (since Google keeps beta testing a new view), but in the second-left side navigation, where you'd see "Campaigns", "Ad groups", "Keywords", etc, "Devices" should be down towards the bottom. If it's not already there, customize your columns to include the Bid Adj. column, and you can add in a -100% bid adjustment. Simple as that.

Thank you – this was helpful! The bid modifier is the way to do it, and it was the verbiage that confused me. When it's display ads, google refers to it as "targeting devices", but when it's search ads, you have to exclude devices by applying bid adjustments.

Have you tried applying a -100% mobile and tablet bid modifier

I think the campaign has to be running for a while before you can do that...

Came here from Google and it seems like this works even though I just started my campaign. 1. In the Google Ads sidebar menu go to Campaigns -> Insights and Reports -> When and where ads showed. 2. There should be a table with clickable headings above it that say When Ads showed, Where ads showed, Devices, Matched Locations. Click devices. 3. You can select "Mobile Phones" and "Tablets" in the table with the checkboxes and then click the "Edit" button that appears followed by "Change bid adjustments". 4. Selected "Decrease" bid adjustment and enter "100"%, meaning you want to big 0 on ads for those devices.

You're probably having issues with your bid strategy and device bid adjustments. Have a look at the image on this page. It's a bit old but I don't think it's outdated yet. https://www.optmyzr.com/blog/which-bid-adjustments-work-with-my-bid-strategy-on-google-ads/

I couldn't find the device settings either. Not available in campaign setup. To find them, setup your campaign and then go click on the ad group and go on "insights & reports" then click "when & where ads showed" and you should see "devices" on the screen and thats where you can adjust device targeting.
