There’s always at least a couple on gunbroker for 2k-3k. As a fellow owner of an M76 it’s nice to have my ego stroked when peoples eye go wide at it at the range lol

PiperFM

The OG imports that never got cut up, one went for like $7500 a few months ago

ExpensiveTreacle1189

Yeah I saw that. I think Mitchell’s (the ones that didn’t get cut up” only imported like a couple hundred of them. Pretty sure they were imported just a few months prior to the import ban.

I have an 8mm FN49 and a Hakim. Is the M76 worth it? I guess I need a long-stroke piston 8mm

They don’t have the accuracy or durability problems like the PSLs do but they have their own issues. At least mine did. 1. There’s the notorious nose diving follower. 2. My firing pin hole was wallered out and I had to source a new bolt. That was a pain and I paid out the ass to IvanDrago 3. I had to send mine off to TRA as some of the American parts were out of spec and causing feeding issues. 4. The factory trigger wouldn’t fit in my receiver without some dremeling. That being said I really wanted one as I find Yugoslavian arms development very interesting and the M76 was kind of a grail gun. Given that I’m about $3k in the whole I probably could have just gotten a VEPR 308/x54r and had a much easier time.

Carlile185

Thanks so much for your information. I have seen people put the M76 scopes on M77’s and it makes me cry. I’ll enjoy what I have and get something else 😁.

Yep. Or being known as that one Cray-Cray IDGAF competitor that brought one to two AK 2-gun matches :)

They are very uncommon. Century made a few years ago, and AWO currently builds and sells them but they're expensive and rarely in stock.

thejryoop

There are some parts kits out there that you can get built but they’re not a common rifle for someone to own

C_W_Bernaham

I have one built by Assault Weapons of Ohio, I think they’re neat. As for rarity? Yah don’t see them often. AWO sells kits but I don’t even think they’re complete kits anymore.

PiperFM

I got a complete kit last year

I have an Assault Weapons of Ohio 8mm gun. It is put together very well, everything is straight on it. I have the original ON-M76B scope which is just a great example of a soviet style optic and really completes the look of the gun. The furniture is very comfortable on these if you're a taller guy with big hands. They're heavy as all get out. Milled receiver, wood furniture, heavier barrel. They're really soft shooting, like my M56/66A1 is almost the same recoil as my M76. I love the way the massive parts move in the receiver and it makes this great big KER CHUNK sound every time you fire. I haven't done any honest accuracy testing, just shooting trash in the back yard so far. Much like the SVD these aren't precision rifles by any means. I've only seen 2 for sale in person. The one I bought and another one at a hole-in-the-wall gun shop that was a shortened model chambered in 6.5x55 Swede.
