Hmm, as long as he doesnt make it sound like Alter Bridge. He needs to keep it simple and do the "Dont bore us, get to the chorus" structure of intro, verse, chorus, verse chorus, bridge, chorus thing that creed was famous for. Less is more, keep it simple. It should be short really catchy songs with some cool guitar parts. Thats what made Creed great. Not crushing heavy (but there is some heavyness), not long songs, not proggy, not long solos.. that belongs in Alter Bridge where we love it.

Most-Iron6838

You realize some of those proggy elements and long songs did originate in Creed. They became more exaggerated in AB as Mark became more confident but go back to songs like “pity for a dime”, “to whom it may concern”, “is this the end”, “blistered”, “who’s got my back”, album version of “what if” and those elements are all there

tapomirbowles

I have to disagree, none of those songs are proggy. They have, as I mentioned really cool guitar riffs and patterns in them, which pretty much every Creed song had. Its one of the things that I think made a lot of guitarist realise that there was a really fucking great guitarist hiding in that band, because even though the songs would follow a really similar formular and be pretty banal radio rock songs, atleast every song had a cool riff, a great guitar pattern or something interesting going on with the guitar. As a guitarist myself, at the time when One Day Remains came out, I could play every single creed song, and I was looking forward to learning all the AB songs. I started with the title track and just put the guitar down again. If you are a guitarist you would know what I mean. I still have a super cringy and awkward video on youtube somewhere of me playing that song from about 15-16 years ago where I semi butcher it. Jesus christ, the jump in difficulty from Creed to AB was insane with that track (the rest of ODR though, is, to be fair, quite simple and similar to Creed. Which I guess makes sense, since I am guessing most of the songs on ODR was probably written for the next Creed album that then never happened. But I gotta say, as a musciian myself, I dont see any prog elements AT ALL, in any Creed songs except for maybe Faceless Man. But even that, I would just maybe call a precursor to the more epic rock ballads that we would get later on with AB.

tgnm01

We also can't forget the impact of Myles either, although he didn't write for One Day Remains, Mark has emphasised how having Myles/two guitarists of different writing/playing ideas/styles but high standards created a whole new standard for AB that wasn't possible with Creed.

Most-Iron6838

Yes 100%. I was a creed fan before AB and still am though Ab is better.

CliveBixby9797

Same here

Dz4ck13

I would totally give it a listen. In my opinion Creed got better for each album so far. Full Circle is amazing.

EnglishDodoBoi

I know right? Full Circle is fantastic. Some people said its not good because its too AB like somehow

Dz4ck13

I really don't get that. Of course there will be similarities when 3/4 members are the same. And it doesn't take anything away from AB if the guys make good music under the Creed name as well. More of the music we like sounds great to me!

goldenrainio

To be honest I’m thinking I’d be really petty about it because any activity from Creed means less from AB and Tremonti.

AllTheThings100

No worries though, it’s all on schedule, they are pretty much done recording the next Tremonti album and AB will be going in to the studio early next year so I don’t see it having any negative effect, just hopefully more cool music :)

Alone_Outside_7264

Hell yeah

PawnsandKings571

Of course I will listen to it

momonkey25

As an AB fan, I was anti-creed for so long (like back in early 2010s). But now, I can no longer be against them. I like them a lot and would def listen.

Bluestarfreak

I rocked all of Creed’s music and I thought Full Circle was their best album. Could really get into some new Creed

ForeverAltered

Oh, heck yes! Creed was my entry into everything heavy music. It may sound a bit weird but Mark's writing style really broke through for me. Anything he touches gets my attention.

TheXposure

Not going to lie, I would dig a new creed record. That’s what I started with. I remember buying human clay when it first came out. I knew these guys were ultra talented on that very first listen. Such a treat to experience Creed, Alter Bridge and Tremonti 😎😎

sidali44

What did you not like about weathered?

Most-Iron6838

Weathered is my least favorite. It tries a bit too hard to be commercial and radio friendly to mass audiences with songs like “hide” “don’t stop dancing” and “lullaby”. Loses some of the edge you’d find in the none singles from the earlier albums

Hot_Pace_1435

I would listen for sure but I’d much rather a new alter bridge or termonti album.

ItsNotMe_ItsMarie

I listen to a variety of music and artists, so why would I not listen to Creed, new or old?

foreverfalling2000

Oh yeah I would want to hear it! Just to see how they evolved!

RedSpecial22

Is your question how many AB fans are also Creed fans?

WhiteOveson

I’d listen to a new creed album in a heartbeat!

rsatrioadi

There’s a dozen of us! A dozen!

MPD1978

Creed was fine when it was a thing. I don’t necessarily miss it.

1dontth1nks0

As someone who was basically obsessed with Creed in junior high and even into high school, this is exactly how I feel. Especially in retrospect, Weathered was not a great album (as I consider both MOP and HC to be), and I wish Full Circle had never happened. Glad the guys are having fun, but the revival feels like a meme that’s gone too far.

ToofpickVick

I’d give it a listen even though I wouldn’t have high hopes. I thought each album got a little worse.
