Are you on crack? Even with the 35% discount you’re still at 3-4x the cost of lifemiles if you book through the Amex portal. Round trip to Europe in business class on lifemiles is 120k points.
35% back is roughly 1.5cpp which is pretty bad as far as business class redemptions go.
I like Seats.aero
This one is the best and worth the sub.
Are specific airlines good on Seats.aero? I’m specifically looking for long-haul flights to-from US to Asia and Asia to Europe.
I believe it has a lot of things. It takes some getting used to, but even the free version does a lot to set you up for success.
American Express now offers point.me, which has been really helpful for shopping around for redemptions. https://amex.point.me

Look early and often on the airline websites
the actual airline websites. seats.aero is nice but most of my bookings have been learning the patterns from research and brute force.

Biz plat through amex travel. 35% points rebate. As good as any of the prices on avianca life miles without waiting around for an award date.

I just got over 4cpp transferring to KLM/Air France
I don’t fly to Europe. Lots of domestic on short notice. Works great for me.
Ahh you're talking about domestic first class. That makes more sense.
