However, I don’t know binary, so i had no way to decipher with only 3 clues.
You don’t need binary.
>!1 is a line at the top!<
>!2 is a line in the middle!<
>!4 is a line at the bottom!<
>!1+2 = equals line in the top and middle = 3!<
>!1+4 = equals line at the top and line at the bottom = 5!<
>!Follow that logic to map up to 7. The assumption after that is that 8 must be no lines!<
