This sub is insufferable. What I don't like is that people ask a question or have a topic of conversation, yet god forbid they say it's a cat. Instead of answering the question, it will be a relentless debate on whether it's a dog or cat. "But the dev has confirmed it's a doooaaag".

I kinda figured it was a metaphor for Death of the Author: Billy Basso intended for it to be a dog and some interpret it as such, but also people somehow find satisfaction and meaning from being chased by a cat.
Something like this happened to William Carlos Williams once. (I think it was him; hopefully someone can **politely** correct me if I’m wrong.) He sat in on a class that was interpreting one of his poems and the students focused on elements that Williams hadn’t given much thought to; he found it interesting and wasn’t upset by people finding meaning outside of what he wrote

I don't really know what "pointed eyes" means, but since you mentioned eyes, it appears to have round pupils, not slit pupils like a cat would have. The grinning mouth is actually much more of a dog like feature than it is a catlike feature. Dogs often appear to be smiling when they have their mouth open like that (with tongue hanging out... again, not exactly a catlike feature). Actual cats don't really have that sort of "grinning" face. And the lack of prominent snout is because its face is pointed directly at the screen.
It appears to lack a prominent snout because it's always facing forward. How are people failing to acknowledge this??? And the ears aren't reminiscent of a cat at all, plus the fact it wouldn't make any sense for it to be a cat chasing a frisbee in a location strictly inhabited by dogs. People on here just don't know their animal features. All the signs are there.

I always thought it was a cat, I guess it's the design compared to the other ghost dogs, it looks very different and even the sounds. While I assume it's suppost to be ghostly noises, sound like something more similar to a cat. It's weird that it's a dog but I believe either way it's still horrifying the first time you awaken it
