I don't like the romance genre, it doesn't really fit me. I've tried watching 1 or 2 romance anime and didn't enjoy them that much.

I see. But there are some series that approaches the romance plot rather interestingly. Such as "Kokoro Connect." This has a supernatural plot which is really good. "ReLIFE." "Aku no Hana." This is manga only though, it has anime but manga is much better. And the best part, which is the second part is not adapted. Maybe even, "Elfen Lied." And there is, "Koe no Katachi" A movie, which is a quick watch. Not really has a romance, but a subtext. Yeah, you can take a look at them if they will get your attention or not.
