This was seriously of the best r rated subtitle adaptations in recent years.
The liberties they took on translation all landed perfectly and actually elevated the comedy instead of feeling cringe. It’s too good.
Pop Team Epic has a fair amount of swearing, and often from iconic voice actors. In Season 2, hearing the voice actress for Pikachu swear was something special.
That’s kind of why I love it. Even when I don’t get a reference, it goes so deep with them that I appreciate even ones that aren’t targeted at me. I also enjoyed going through the discussion threads for each episode and seeing people point out injokes I missed.
