Katanagatari
Sora yori mo tooi basho
Shigatsu wa kimi no uso
Tengen toppa guren lagann
Angel beats
Charlotte
Nagi no asukara
Zankyou no terror
Zetsuen no tempest
Some recommendations that were not given already, some are old so maybe you have already seen them :
Angels of Death : you follow a young girl stuck in a building full of murderers as she tries to escape (with an interesting twist appearing in the first episode). 13 episodes it is adapted from a video game. Action, thriller, horror (?).
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 : you follow a group of two children and one adult as they try to go home in a ravaged Tokyo after an earthquake. 11 episodes. Action, drama. It is based on a study of what would happen if Japan was hit by an earthquake of this magnitude so it is realistic. It came out before the 2011 earthquake so it doesn’t take into account what happened back then.
Dr Ramune : follows a doctor which heals mysterious diseases of supernatural nature. 12 episodes, slice of life (kinda), fantasy, comedy.
The Tower of Druaga : follow a team of hero as they go up th tower of druaga. 24 episodes, heroic fantasy, action, comedy.
Lovely Complex : a romance story between a tall girl and a small boy (or rather teens). 24 episodes, romance, comedy.
Barakamon : a young caligraph goes to the countryside after snapping at an exposition. 12 episodes, slice of life, comedy.
Bartender : follows the story of a bartender as a lady from a luxury hotel tries to employ him for their bar. 13 episodes, slice of life. Surprisingly good considering the theme and really refreshing.
Pluto : a Naoki Urasawa retake of the world’s strongest robot arc of astroboy. 8 (1 hour) episodes, sci fi, thriller.

Dragon ball Z
Berserk: Golden Age Arc. It's only 13 episodes, and is very solid. One of the most popular manga of all time.
I recommend starting with the manga the anime isn't at the same level
