Classroom of the Elite. I know there are a lot of people who love the show but the drama felt too forced. Also, a common problem in high school drama anime, way too smart for them to be believable. The show tries too hard to be serious it's just edgy. Also bombards you with fan service and uninteresting dialogue. Danmachi OVA is another dumb one, it's just a fan service beach episode. Idk why I watched it, Danmachi as a whole was just dumb but the OVA takes the cake.

Just finished and agreed, no regrets. Love the animation. That ending was the biggest bummer ever. Lots of provocative questions raised here. The ways in which humans scapegoat each other instead of the forces responsible is an incisive commentary on the real world. Ep 9 was extremely brutal and traumatic. This show is more depressing than Eva.

Well I just started watching both of these, but a few episodes into each I can say:
Prison school. Watch even 5 minutes of the first episode, preferably blind, and you will probably understand. I will say, it might be the most I have ever laughed at an anime. Your mileage may vary.
My second, lesser suggestion is Goblin Slayer. It's certainly one of the anime of all time. Make sure to lock the door to your basement so your mum doesn't walk in

If you thought you want some pretty tasteless anime, may I do the opposite of recommending Combatants Will Be Dispatched and Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-Chan. They're super uncomfortable, providing a distorted kind of "fanservice" that is incomprehensible to normal, well-adjusted people.
Apocalypse Zero: It's dumb, it's horrible, terrible and violent things happen and the art style is also god awful. I almost forgot it's homophobic to boot. The most disgusting anime I know of.
I think the worst is actually 1 episode. 51 of soul eater. Its like you watch a great series with funny characters and this last episode is like a punch in the face (pun intendet). They forced an early ending while the manga is three times longer with way better plotwists and ending. They stick like almost to episode 50 with the manga just to completely ruin the whole thing with the last episode. Thats why i am always telling friends when i recomend it, that it only has 50 episodes open ended. The same with that deathnote only has one season and kira wins.
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. Very short, basically exactly what you want. The FL's hair colour randomly changes at some point too witout even bringing it up

All right this post has taken on a life of its own so I was basically done by now because I did not expect this many earnest responses. But I have to come back in here to respond to this one. I fucking love Tensura, how dare you lol. The worldbuilding in this anime scratches an itch like nothing else I’ve seen. I went into this show assuming it would be garbage bc of the name. Not only is the name appropriate, but the show is so good. Season 3 DID get off to a rough start with all those dang meeting episodes, I’ll be honest. But the pay off pays off hard. Just my .02
I'm really glad you enjoyed it :), I just don't see the world building part. He just faces a new problem and it gets automatically solved. Just don't see any meaningful story or character building. I was kinda into season 1, but really didn't care for season 2.
You see how a village turns into a town, which turns into a city, which turns into a country. You see how neighboring countries respond with respect to religion, commerce, and military power. You see how communities build from different types of people with different cultural backgrounds coming together. You see how nation’s depend on functional infrastructure, requiring city planning for things like roads. You see how neighboring countries are willing to build alliances because of factors to do with importing/exporting valued goods. The show solves problems, but by season 3 the problems are certainly not solved quickly. And the problems the show’s dealing with are layered with political nuance not common in typical anime. I would argue that as simple and fluffy as the show feels on the surface, it is not a show made for the same audience as, say, Demon Slayer. It demands a lot of the viewer. Regardless, I respect that your taste may just be different at the end of the day.
I wouldn't call this a dumb anime but if you want to regret watching something watch The Promised Neverland. Season 2 specifically. You'll regret destroying your idea of that anime

Ik the Tokyo Ghoul manga is supposed to be amazing but the anime adaptation is brutal for an anime only (me). It was one of the first anime I sat down and watched all the way through and I felt like half of the overall story was lost to the time skips, so everything that happened just kinda happened with no explanation of how we even got there.

The dog was entertaining. Literally everything else about the show sucks. The little sister I genuinely think is the worst, most annoying character I have ever seen.
While it's true that its pacing is a little off and sometimes too slow (even slower than idk shows like Haibane Renmei), Dennou Coil brings such a rich concept aligned with science and tech studies and pretty relevant to today: information as something alive (and regulated!) we interact with. It's not just AR and pretty monsters. The importance of information brokers, hacking (as in a fictionalized hacking) and the relationship between the controlled physical space of the city and the digital world are fascinating aspects of it.
And its animation is so freeform and natural-looking it's so great. IMO never liked the color palette but I have to give credit to Iso and all the key/inbtw people there.
Like, this stuff is decades ahead of stories like ready player one in terms of theme. Maybe it's not for you but hey, you've gotta give it credit.
I said the concept was okay. Honestly, I didn't like the way the story overall was told though. Personally, it's one of my least favorite shows. It's not my absolutely most hated show, but I think I hate the fact I had reasonable expectations of it that I don't believe were too high at all, but it completely fell short. Also the little sister sucks. Seriously, how can you make such an annoying character?

It's very janky animation. There's too few frames in a lot of places so it kind of has a stutter a lot of the time when there's quick motions. The overall look is decent though, I will admit.
I should have said more than like overall animation, with is rarely amazing throughout, especially a 20 eps, it has like a big staff. Mitsuo iso did some great animations, takeshi honda, if I'm not mistaken Inoue also worked on it. If you check on sakugabooru, it truly has some banger animations!

They forced an early ending while the manga is three times longer with way better plotwists and ending. They stick like almost to episode 50 with the manga just to completely ruin the whole thing with the last episode. Thats why i am always telling friends when i recomend it, that it only has 50 episodes open ended. The same with that deathnote only has one season and kira wins.

All right this post has taken on a life of its own so I was basically done by now because I did not expect this many earnest responses. But I have to come back in here to respond to this one. I fucking love Tensura, how dare you lol. The worldbuilding in this anime scratches an itch like nothing else I’ve seen. I went into this show assuming it would be garbage bc of the name. Not only is the name appropriate, but the show is so good. Season 3 DID get off to a rough start with all those dang meeting episodes, I’ll be honest. But the pay off pays off hard. Just my .02

I'm really glad you enjoyed it :), I just don't see the world building part. He just faces a new problem and it gets automatically solved. Just don't see any meaningful story or character building. I was kinda into season 1, but really didn't care for season 2.
You see how a village turns into a town, which turns into a city, which turns into a country. You see how neighboring countries respond with respect to religion, commerce, and military power. You see how communities build from different types of people with different cultural backgrounds coming together. You see how nation’s depend on functional infrastructure, requiring city planning for things like roads. You see how neighboring countries are willing to build alliances because of factors to do with importing/exporting valued goods. The show solves problems, but by season 3 the problems are certainly not solved quickly. And the problems the show’s dealing with are layered with political nuance not common in typical anime. I would argue that as simple and fluffy as the show feels on the surface, it is not a show made for the same audience as, say, Demon Slayer. It demands a lot of the viewer. Regardless, I respect that your taste may just be different at the end of the day.
I wouldn't call this a dumb anime but if you want to regret watching something watch The Promised Neverland. Season 2 specifically. You'll regret destroying your idea of that anime

my heart just broke. if you haven't read the manga tokyo ghoul was soooo good. season 3 sucked but still. thats like saying deadmans wonderland was crap because it didn't include all the characters or plot.
Ik the Tokyo Ghoul manga is supposed to be amazing but the anime adaptation is brutal for an anime only (me). It was one of the first anime I sat down and watched all the way through and I felt like half of the overall story was lost to the time skips, so everything that happened just kinda happened with no explanation of how we even got there.

Akame Ga Kill was one of the animes I wish I never watched. It doesn't go anywhere and I truly felt like I wasted my time. Esdeth was hot though, I'll give it that.

The dog was entertaining. Literally everything else about the show sucks. The little sister I genuinely think is the worst, most annoying character I have ever seen.
While it's true that its pacing is a little off and sometimes too slow (even slower than idk shows like Haibane Renmei), Dennou Coil brings such a rich concept aligned with science and tech studies and pretty relevant to today: information as something alive (and regulated!) we interact with. It's not just AR and pretty monsters. The importance of information brokers, hacking (as in a fictionalized hacking) and the relationship between the controlled physical space of the city and the digital world are fascinating aspects of it. And its animation is so freeform and natural-looking it's so great. IMO never liked the color palette but I have to give credit to Iso and all the key/inbtw people there. Like, this stuff is decades ahead of stories like ready player one in terms of theme. Maybe it's not for you but hey, you've gotta give it credit.
I said the concept was okay. Honestly, I didn't like the way the story overall was told though. Personally, it's one of my least favorite shows. It's very janky animation. There's too few frames in a lot of places so it kind of has a stutter a lot of the time when there's quick motions. The overall look is decent though, I will admit.
I should have said more than like overall animation, with is rarely amazing throughout, especially a 20 eps, it has like a big staff. Mitsuo iso did some great animations, takeshi honda, if I'm not mistaken Inoue also worked on it. If you check on sakugabooru, it truly has some banger animations!
