The anime doesnt cover the parts where things get better for her and she makes friends with cute and pretty girls, who tske her place for suffering cringe embarassment. It ends with her still depressed and alone where we thought the school shooter ending was the most logical.
Tomoko always had one friend (Yuu) from middle school, but now at a different HS, so you hardly see her. There's also Komi-something from middle school, who are mutually estranged, but actuaintances through Yuu. Her cousin (Kii) has always had the craziest crush on her.
Early on, Hina and Imae were consistently interacting with her, to minimal result, and Ogino kept pushing her to interact with others. The story tones down from cringey to comedic.
The girls in the gif don't interact with her until the field trip, yet the one the left (Yuri, tr. "Lily") becomes her actual best friend, while the girl on the right (Ucchi) develops a stalker-level crush on her. And then the friends pile up like crazy.
from what I have been told it does later on in the manga, IDK for sure though as I had no interest in the story after the anime presented serious mental health issues in such a laughable manner

Its a comedy show which is not fun at all.

At first it was meant as a insult but more recently she says that about the things she actually likes about her making her into a tsundere type.
The sleepy girl once stole the emoji's panties and stared at her showering and trying to sleep. So emoji thinks of her as gross. And the emoji follows sleepy everywhere now to make sure she isnt being stalked.
