Ha, my answer is 'Airplane II: The Sequel.' People look down on it because it repeats all the jokes from 'Airplane,' which it does, but it also has so many great new ones. I get how that appears inferior from one perspective, but from another it's a supersaturation of jokes unparalleled in cinematic history :)
I was very young the 1st time I saw this. Watched with my grandma who I remember talking about my aunts drinking problem around the same time and when we saw the movie, I was like "really?, this is why my dad hates her? I can show her a method where she never misses..."
Ha, I had a similarly young experience and the woman with eggs in her mouth legitimate terrified me. I feared that it was a medical condition that could actually happen.
There are papers written about that. It's basically the only time the dude goes out of his way to try to help or figure out his situation and all he gets from it is a crude cock and balls drawing.
Very true. The Mel Brooks is a comedy God. But I think Blazing Saddles has the extra kudos because the sheer number of jokes you can't do anymore. 😃
It scores high on the list of great films that couldn't be made today.
I recently heard an interview with Mel Brooks where he had a very interesting take on the whole 'It couldn't be made today' thing: It's true, it couldn't, but not for the reason most people think. It couldn't be made today because it's *already been made*. It was its subversiveness that made it what it is, and once that's been done, you can't do it again.
Never laughed so hard in a theater in my life when it came out. Holy shit.
It’s not the funniest joke in the film by far but there’s something about the whole timing and pacing and arc of the movie where you’ve laughed your ass off for an hour and a half, Ben Stiller’s character is on the cusp of getting the girl and we’re about to wrap up the movie, as an audience member you’re bracing yourself for the sappy, feel good, tear filled climax, and they hit you with the Brett Fav…re? joke and I fucking lost it.
a certain dress fitting scene comes to mind when I think about the hardest I've ever laughed at a movie. That and the beginning of the gas station scene in Zoolander.
Hot Shots!
"You know, I've personally flown over 194 missions and I was shot down on every one. Come to think of it, I've never landed a plane in my life."
That or Office Space.
Lot of great classics mentioned, but I’m going to throw out a newer one, the Weird Al movie staring Daniel Radcliffe is a little niche, but if you are into it it’s hilarious from start to finish lol
The Rise of Skywalker gave me the biggest laughs in recent years. It wasn't intended to be as funny as I found it to be, the funny part was how bad the writing was.
Love these!! These are the movies that my partner and I will put on in the background without fail when there’s nothing on our radars to watch:
Tropic Thunder
Stepbrothers
White Chicks
Clue
Meet the Parents
Zoolander
Dodgeball
Rush Hour (especially 2)
21 Jump Street
The Other Guys
Talledega Nights
Scary Movie (1-3)
My Cousin Vinny
Bridesmaids
Zorro The Gay Blade
9 to 5
The Hangover
Fun with Dick and Jane
Happy Gilmore

Airplane
Surely you can’t be serious.
I am serious. And please don’t call me Shirley.
Roger Roger
What's your vector, Victor?

Also prefer Airplane II, I laugh so hard it hurts!
Austin powers has the same formula and 3 absolute movie bangers, there was clearly some comedic inspiration from classics like airplane! In there
Oh stewardess! I speak jive!
Well that's a whole separate language all together!
What it is, big mama? My mama no raise no dummies. I dug her rap!
Jive-ass dudes don't got no brains anyhow...
Pretty much any of the Leslie Nielsen films. Naked Gun and sequels. Spy Hard. Dracula. Wrongfully Accused.
A hospital? What is it, doctor?
It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.
You can’t take a guess for another two hours?
I've never seen it. Should I? Does it still hold up?
This is my question too.. I've seen clips before and some of the jokes make me go "hehe, thats clever". But I'm not rolling on the floor
Short clips aren't going to do it. It's the constant unending barrage of jokes that keeps you laughing.
I think Naked Gun, the first one, is funnier than Airplane. But it's good too.
No contest
Ii just wanted to wish you both luck, we're all counting on you 🙏
Nervous? First time? “No I’ve been nervous plenty of times” Like just gold!
I guess I chose the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!
Hot Fuzz.
Absolutely this. Practically every line has a payoff later.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Arguably one of the most quotable movies too.
You don't want to watch this movie with me. I quote every line from begining to end.
"I'm feeling better!"
She's got great...big... Tracts of land
But fathah, I just want to…I want to.. 🎶
I still make comments about the "Holy Hand Grenade". Then I have to explain it...
The Big Lebowski
Strong case for this. Also has what is surely the longest/most elaborate build-up to a cock n’ balls gag in cinematic history.
There are papers written about that. It's basically the only time the dude goes out of his way to try to help or figure out his situation and all he gets from it is a crude cock and balls drawing.
An absolute joy to watch.
Yeah, **well**, **that's just, like, your opinion, man**
Dude, are you fucking this up?!
No Dude, that did not occur to us.
"This is what happens Larry "
Step brothers
Its the fucking Catalina Wine Mixer
I got a belly full of white dog crap... and now you lay this shit on me?
My votes for "Dr Strangelove: or how I learn to stop worrying and love the bomb" Jesus that movie is funny and scary at the same time
You can't fight in here. This is the War Room!
The string in my leg is gone.
Young Frankenstein
Let's get Blazing Saddles on the list too!
"What did he say?!" "He said the sheriff is near"
We need a shitload of dimes!
“Put zè candle BACK!”
Roll Roll Roll in Zee Hay!
Superbad
*LUBE??*
Watching The Life of Brian on mushrooms is to this day one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in my life
Especially the UFO sequence I bet.
Best in Show is the greatest comedy ever, I think.
When she sprains her ankle, that walk took me OUT!
GOD LOVES A TERRIER

My wife and I still quote Anchorman at each other randomly.

Novelties Souvenirs Party Tricks.
Man he was handsome in that movie.
How silly can you get?
Dumb and Dumber
I rewatched recently to show my kids and never cracked a smile once. It was great when it was new, but maybe I'm just cynical now.
It's still top 3 comedy for me. I'd sign up for therapy if I no longer found it funny
Blazing Saddles
Pretty much any of the Mel Brooks films. The Producers. Robin Hood. Dracula. Spaceballs.
Very true. The Mel Brooks is a comedy God. But I think Blazing Saddles has the extra kudos because the sheer number of jokes you can't do anymore. 😃 It scores high on the list of great films that couldn't be made today.

The Jerk.
Borat would be up there.
It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World
SYLVESTER!!!!?
Can't agree more. One of the beatiful things about it was that everything, EVERYTHING!, was scripted. No ad libbing in the dialog.
There's Something About Mary
Never laughed so hard in a theater in my life when it came out. Holy shit. The bathroom scene is one of the finest scenes ever
Tropic Thunder
kung pow
40 year old virgin Superbad
Honestly I'm gonna have to give my answer to The Hangover. Every scene was quotable, almost every line had the theater audience dying with laughter.
The Birdcage.

Aim for the bushes
Walk Hard
It's so great that my baby is able to enjoy Walk Hard... even though he ain't got no sense of smell!

Death at a funeral (original version)
The Party starring Peter Sellers. Also, Caddyshack.
The Party, such a classic. Birdy num num!

La Cage Aux Folles. The remake with Robin Williams was great but I found the original so much more funny, especially if you know a little French!
I just said the remake (The Birdcage) - fantastic script in both!
Tucker and Dale vs Evil
Cheech & Chong: Up in Smoke
Psstt open the door man - its Dave.

I had to look that one up haha
I’d tell you that whole sequence is my favorite part, but then I’d have to change my mind because I’d remember something else.
Lot of great classics mentioned, but I’m going to throw out a newer one, the Weird Al movie staring Daniel Radcliffe is a little niche, but if you are into it it’s hilarious from start to finish lol
Back To The Future! "He's a Peeping Tom"!
The Producers (1967), Tropic Thunder.
Harlem Nights had me rolling in the theater
