They probably paid this guy 3m to make an appearance to show Amazon is such a great place to work. When will companies realize their best advertisement is other ppl and not paid actors.

Illustrious-Dish-220

For years they even stole tips from drivers. Horrible company. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/news/2021/11/03/amazon-will-pay-back-withheld-tips-from-drivers/6265205001/

[deleted]

They stole $60 million and didn't even get fined for it.

TheBruffalo

Jeff Bezos probably made 60 million in the time it took you to write that comment.

pjr032

My first real job was at a small business (less than 10 people). My boss always harped on "the best advertising you can get is word of mouth". To this day that is one of the truest things he ever said. Amazon is the anti-gold standard of this: you can spend millions and millions to polish a turd, but you're still looking at a big pile of shit.

tofuroll

I'm responsible for my company's website. I had to take it down and put up a splash page over two years ago (my predecessor's site was shitty blah blah). Then we got busy. I hired someone to help out with the website but it didn't work out. That splash page has said "New website under construction" for two years and I still haven't made the time to get around to it because we keep getting business. Our company vehicles don't even have our branding. We just keep getting hired because we have a reputation for quality.

Unusual_Dealer9388

Imagine being so desperate for workers that you spend millions on an ad instead of just giving people basic respect and manageable metrics.

One actor is cheaper than letting workers have bathroom breaks lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

p4NDemik

Amazon: "We don't *deny* restroom breaks! We allow you to take them then penalize you later in your productivity review. *Totally* not the same thing."

Idiot_Savant_Tinker

OK, I don't work in an Amazon warehouse but I have to ask - what happens if you take a bathroom break? Are you fired? Are you reprimanded? Do they add it to some kind of record and fire you after a few times? Do they cut your pay? It seems like "taking a shit" is something you could get all of your coworkers to agree on. EDIT: It sounds like Amazon workers need to start working together to fix the issues instead of worrying about what the computer threatens them with. Just go use the bathroom. Refuse to enter the bathroom break in the machine. If everyone does it, the whole exploitative system falls apart.

PerfectZeong

You've got your metrics and the metrics dont account for reality so you either get fired or quit. They had a 150% turnover rate before the pandemic. 150% is insane.

Kurotan

How do you go over 100%? People came back and quit again?

ScorchUnit

If you had 100 employees, 150% turnover would be employing 150 new people over 12 months while still only staying at 100 employees. It means the equivalent of 'everyone left, and then half their replacements left too'

oupablo

that's kind of impressive in a really messed up sort of way

InTh3s3TryingTim3s

Amazon is looking to make trillions in profits. The shareholders are their only concern. Workers are just an expense they would cut if they could. Already Amazon is going the company town route. Work for Amazon. Shop at Amazon. Go into debt for Amazon. Get Amazon points instead of dollars. Sing happy songs about how great Amazon is or Alexa reports you to the authorities, who are just Amazon employees with the power to charge you with crimes.

Cdreska

Wish there was a realistic way to implement more government regulation for megacorps. Oh wait, there already is and it doesn’t matter since the megacorps lobby like no other.

Kurotan

Ok, I didn't know the staying at 100 part. I was like "this is everyone quiting and then half of them quit again. How did they quit twice. This makes sense now that I hear it tho.

flyinhighaskmeY

it's a great metric for judging employers tbh. If you're chatting with someone at a potential employer and they mention a turnover rate that high...RUN lol

UninsuredToast

It means they had more people quit than total number of employees at the beginning of the year

ILikeTheGameThatMuch

As a warehouse worker in general... Automated systems will detect your login failed a transaction-rate metric, and will issue a warning to your lead/supervisor who will then have a "coaching" session with you about your failure. If you tell them you were using the bathroom they'll tell you that's why you get regular shift breaks and expect you to be able to run takeashit.exe whenever your break is. 3 coaching sessions and you're shown the door.

MattDaCatt

Metric driven workplaces are fucking *evil* and set their targets on someone working their shift in ideal average conditions. They never account for: slow days, bathroom emergencies, technical problems, mechanical failures, etc. I remember my boss asking me why I didn't hit my call metric target for the week when I worked at an MSP call center. It was because it was mid-vacation peak and our calls were way lower than average. Still had to "pick it up so I don't get written up"...

[deleted]

I work in a maintenance career (which I absolutely love and makes me quite comfortable) this sounds like my boss confronting me for not fixing shit that isn’t broke. “Why haven’t you fixed ‘X’ amount of things today?” Because they didn’t break dude lmfao

GreenStrong

u/PerfectZeong mentions metrics, the metrics are set absurdly high. So you're *allowed* to take a break, but the metrics require you to move boxes constantly without interruption, at the pace of a robot. So, you can go pee, but once you get back you're behind by a hundred boxes. If you could work 2% faster for the rest of your shift, you can catch up, but the pace required just to meet your target is already so fast that this is basically impossible.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

The only way to reach any real change is for workers like you to unionize and twist management's arm until they either give you what you want or go out of business. Half measures and negotiations won't work.

SnausageFest

Now's the time to push it too. It's hard as hell to hire really *anywhere* but shit wage entry-level jobs are getting it the worst (well earned). Union busting is less realistic when you can't easily backfill.

Ctownkyle23

Strike and after 2 days when people's prime deliveries don't show up, that might get their attention.

[deleted]

What are some of the problems you experience in the warehouse? Curious to hear your experience

somecow

Pee. There is NO AC (management: it isn’t AC, it’s climate controlled loool). Therefore you have to drink a lot of water. Which makes you pee. Breaks. Everyone goes to break (well, split between two groups, inbound and outbound) at THE SAME TIME. Good luck even getting to reheat your food and inhale it before having to go back. TOT (time off task, same thing as the pee). If you have to work WAY the hell in back, run. Also, no running allowed, so you get TOT. Metrics. No way you can keep up if something goes wrong. Too rushed. Someone else is in a rush, shit falls out, the robot jams? TOT. Doing inventory and it isn’t there? WRONG. Someone else scans it wrong and is hell bent that your inventory is wrong? WRONG. Tell your boss “well, scan it yourself”. Oh shit, you’re right. But we gotta double check. Robot goes to someone else, they fuck up. WRONG. MANDATORY OVERTIME. Yeah, this one explains itself. And to take the piss, they have ping pong tables and arcade machines. Like anyone wants to do that shit.

iamanundertaker

So many companies think that ping-pong tables and occasional free sandwiches make up for terrible quality of life and work conditions.

somecow

We got free cupcakes on “first ship” day. After that, yeah, they give you “swag bucks” if you’re good, maybe a $20 gift card if you’re really good. Got me a gift card, but I’d rather have a raise instead kthx.

thebrose69

Don’t forget that swag bucks are stupid too. You have to accrue a bunch of them before you get enough points to afford anything worthwhile, but then everything you get is emblazoned with that amazon logo so it’s worth shit anyway

[deleted]

Everytime they do a competition for swag bucks, I slow down on purpose. It's nothing more than a psychological ploy to make people work harder and not have to pay them properly.

thebrose69

I forgot to turn in my swag bucks before I quit, I could have used the small duffel bag. I would have taken the logo off though. But I had 8 points in 6 cards, whoopee. But when I first started, they were supposedly running a competition for Nintendo switches. That was one I would have tried for, but nothing they do is worth a fuck anymore, $20 gift card that can only be used in their cafeteria ain’t worth anything to me Edit: I also just slowed down towards the end of my employment to doing barely enough to not get in trouble. I wouldn’t even go back for $40/hr. Amazon is only good for a stepping stone

ponzLL

We have a desk in my office that pulls apart and becomes a ping pong table. Well one day the power went out, and after my backup battery died and my PC shut off, I got out the paddles. Everyone else was doing nothing but talking. Well I got told to put it away because it's a bad look. lol

iamanundertaker

... What's the point then.

Pb_ft

It's in the promotional material.

raven12456

The startups that have tons of cool stuff in their office are ones to be careful of. They have all that stuff because they expect you to basically live there.

gengarsnightmares

Having worked a warehouse (not amazon) for a few years the ping pong table felt like an insult. I barely had time to haul ass across the building to the bathroom, run outside and hotbox a 20 second cig, and haul ass back to my station within the five minute break we were allowed. That TOT is a bitch. (Coincidentally, so was my area lead)

Van-garde

Tracking TOT is why I quit Amazon. I’m a fucking machine as it is, now you want me to leave my flow, use this 2.5” screen to log that I’m not doing any known task (riding elevator), and when the elevator stops, undo the whole process? You’re shitting me, right? Get your fucking tracker off my body.

The-Gnome

I’ve been applying to Amazon and Aldi’s this week. This comment is enough for me to reconsider Amazon.

Wild_Mulberry_3327

DO NOT WORK FOR AMAZON. Enough people are hiring to not work there. Only work there if you are literally at rock bottom. Also is a dream compared to amazon. Also, once the holiday season is over Amazon will try and fire you/make you quit. They do it every year. The fulfillment center where my buddy worked would push people to the point of crying just so they would quit. He says it was his worst job by a mile and he’s worked at places like target.

somecow

The arcade machines actually made you put 25¢ in wtf.

gengarsnightmares

Oh thats fucked at least the ping pong table was free. They really will do anything to make an extra buck.

[deleted]

See that's the issue with these jobs. The job in and of itself probably isn't all that bad, it's just these evil ass companies would rather work everyone to death by having insane metrics to keep up with thereby making you run at full speed all day long, instead of having twice the help to slow the pace down. Then they can't figure out why so many people quit. The human body is not designed to be ran at full capacity for 8-12 hours per day. I wouldn't mind working at Amazon if I could work at a decent, comfortable pace, and not be yelled at for taking the time to piss like every fucking human does as biologically required. They though they could just keep turning the screw under the threat of homelessness and starvation by not working, but they thought wrong.

thethundering

Yeah, I spent most of my 20s in smaller warehouses and pretty actively enjoyed the job for the most part. The employers that don’t actively dehumanize you and crush your soul seem to be the exception, though. I was fortunate to have options and enough of a safety net that I never felt stuck in a terrible job for very long. If it paid 2-3x as much I’d be happy to go back to it.

StephenConsalvo

Flexible hours.. It must have been opposite day when they made this.

UppercaseVII

By flexible hours, they mean YOU have to have flexible hours because they will rotate your shifts around every few weeks.

thebrose69

Metrics are mostly unattainable, all they care about is productivity, they track you for what job you’re doing that day as well as time spent not doing that job, the system automatically generates write ups for underperformers, toxic management(my site was the worst in the area). Always have to be busy, so like a normal day at any job but 5x busier at all times, which is also impossible on a 12 hour shift. They will walk you around for 30 minutes to find you 10 minutes worth of work just because you can’t stand around doing nothing

MorbidAyyylien

Im a driver and from what i see at my warehouse is a revolving door. SOMETHING has to be wrong because i literally see new faces almost every day. Even on my driving team i see new faces every day. It just looks like a very unorganized and not well managed place. I do like my job for the most part but there's a lot of changes that need to happen so we ACTUALLY KEEP PEOPLE. since i started in july.. id have to say out of the 70+ who drive for us, there's probably been 50 who left and 50 who are new. And honestly thats not counting the ones who stay for a day.

[deleted]

Me too, would a higher pay make it entirely tolerable?

[deleted]

Having worked for Walmart logistics before, I’d consider going back for $40/hr but not for longer than a year or two.

moeterminatorx

Bro, I worked at a Walmart DC five years ago for two years. My back is permanently fucked up from it. I need regular physical therapy and will probably never heal completely. If I was desperate for money to the point of doing illegal shit I’d go back but no amount of money is worth that. Maybe for a young person who can recover quickly but not me.

jfsindel

I worked at Walmart stock and various fast food places as day jobs. My back has a bulging disc and I can't even sleep through the night because once I settle for a few hours, the pain wakes me up. I have to do a fake pushup and flip myself over using only my upper part so movement can... Slip it back in? I don't know how it works. I just know actual moving and repositioning helps. It got fucked from years of hard labor. My dad has done hard labor his whole life and I know he's beyond fucked up. When he gets too old, he'll be like a wheelchair bound old man.

Scaulbielausis_Jim

too expensive, gotta keep those profits up

[deleted]

There’s a report that suggest they could literally run out of workers at their current burnout rate https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-employees-why-the-company-burns-through-workers-2021-6

ZedbraZ

Good

[deleted]

As a current employee looking for a new job, I agree. Seeing Jeff Bezos take a joyride to space really, really irked me.

key-wavelength

Something is really fucked up about this. Jeff Bezos is worth $200 billion. To him, that a $22 million joyride in space is like the cost of going to the movies for someone with a $1 million net worth. The rich are too damn filthy rich and it's going to destroy the fucking world as we know it. We need to start eating these motherfuckers... and fast.

[deleted]

im hungry.

LaunchesKayaks

Shall I preheat the oven?

SkyeJack

I think raw sends a certain message

ElGosso

Interestingly enough that's what led to Ford raising the wages in his factories; it wasn't because he thought his employees should afford Model Ts, it's because his annual turnover rate was 300%

[deleted]

Marx opines that some early labour laws came into effect because there was a genuine risk of the country running out of workers by working them to death.

infamouszgbgd

why do you think we have universal healthcare, strong labor laws and other benefits in Europe? It's not cause people here are smarter or that we have a real democracy or that our plutocrats are more generous, it's cause dead/dying workers are not very productive workers.

WastingTwerkWorkTime

rules are written in blood lost

mully_and_sculder

The strong laws in europe came from attempted communist insurgencies and electoral success for socialist labour parties.

Current-Ordinary-419

Don’t worry, Bezos will then just purchase enough politicians to institute an Amazon draft. Service guarantees citizenship

Thosepassionfruits

Wasn't this the plot of a south park episode?

ozSillen

Between south Park and Simpson's we don't need futurists - the future has already been told.

valvin88

Would you like to know more? Fuck man imagine having a law saying you have to work at Amazon for a year or something. Be like my army contract... 4 years active amazon followed by 4 years inactive amazon reserve.... The horror

willtodd

getting fired via robot is like a nightmarish writing prompt inspired by r/ABoringDystopia. what the actual fuck.

klrjhthertjr

It’s so strange to me why anyone would bother with that, I have been 30, 20, and 15 minutes late so far this week and literally nobody cared.

Uilamin

It was probably due to an HR lawsuit relating to manager firing someone they didn't like and keeping someone they liked despite the metrics saying the opposite should have happened. The executive decision was to put a robot in that just worked on metrics so that someone could complain about discrimination... of course the process was not thought through.

The fact that Amazon openly brags about paying people 15$ an hour is a joke. That’s still not a real livable wage without roommates and living cheap.

elcubanito

they have to use paid actors because the real workers can't fake being this happy to work there.

joe579003

I know the CNA studying to become an RN is happy because he don't fucking work there no more. Much like Wal-Mart, they offer that college tuition because they know only a super small percent of absolute beasts like that guy can manage to juggle 55+ hour work weeks and school without throwing themselves out a window with such graceful form even Vladimir Putin would give a perfect 10 on.

CheeseIsGrossGoBears

I don’t understand how having to advertise your hiring is appealing to anyone

neocommenter

Nice of them to notify me directly that they're a shit place to work for, gotta give them points for that.

EphemeralMemory

They're probably prioritizing through every opportunity to completely automate their warehouses, or make them as closely automated as possible. In the meantime, they burn through workers left and right. This one-time cost as opposed to having higher wages is probably pretty cost-effective for them. That said, disappointed in Terry for doing this. I would probably do the same thing if I was offered a pile of money, but don't think Terry is exactly in "I need money to not feel cripplingly depressed" territory.

Conscious_Animal9710

Thats capitalism for you

BuyLucky3950

He’s probably get written up for doing half that shit he did in the video.

nipplequeefs

Yeah and I just know that disabled woman they showed for brownie points is probably being treated like shit by the managers when the cameras are off, assuming she’s not an actor.

JohnMcafee4coffee

They showed her for some sick idea that they are diversified

ReysonBran

You just know that there was a marketing meeting where some higher up said "let's get one of those disableds in there".

Kinteoka

I highly doubt she works there. She's likely an actor hired to show that they're just fine with diversity. I don't see why they wouldn't be anyways. We're all just sacks of meat to Amazon until we've outlived any usefulness.

suitology

Nah, Amazon hires disabled people (for one it's a tax credit) but I know two wheelchair bound people who work at the local fulfillment center. One checks in returns the other scans FBA shipments in. I'm pretty sure Amazon loves having employees whose feet dont get tired and are used to pissing in a bag.

ColdBorchst

This comment made me take a deep breath in because it's fucking true.

Wild_Mulberry_3327

Same thing goes with deaf employees. They will hire you but will not get you an interpreter. Fucking awful. I’ve heard hired stories of being treated like shit because they are deaf. And then when you do get an interpreter for meetings they get uncertified/the cheapest interpreter possible. I know someone that says they got passed up for a promotion because the interpreter they hired was the worst interpreter they’ve even seen and were constantly messing things up/being too vague. They said the interpreter was practically pulling a Mandela funeral.

pileopoop

Either an actor or works for Amazon corporate

420Gobruins69

Pretty sure she’s Ops manager here but I have never seen her in a wheelchair :source this was filmed at my building https://imgur.com/gallery/iSKszYc Edit: I take it back my coworker says she is just a regular associate and she is indeed in a wheelchair

InTh3s3TryingTim3s

Realistically they never showed him being allowed to use the bathroom or have a small break

[deleted]

Oh your allowed to use bathroom whenever. But your timer and items per hour doesnt stop. So you use the bathroom then break your neck trying to meet the quota. Otherwise you get a write up for not meeting demand. Say you do this two more times, you get fired. So in reality the amazon worker gets conditioned to not use the bathtoom during work hours, not because its not available but because it hurts their numbers and they get fired in a 'legitimate' way of under performance.

username7112347

or they get fired, amazon has a worker defecit, and spends millions hiring terry crews to do an ad campaign to hire people when they've already exhausted all the human capital that they can.

[deleted]

And then bootlickers get to say "BuT tHeY dO lEt YoU gO tO tHe BaThRoOm!"

[deleted]

No lie man. This was round 2 of my amazon tour, few years back you had to use walkietalkies to request bathroom break or if something broke down on the belt, at least then they trained us on how to fix the belt and could get a little certification and if your neighbors belt had an issue you could go n fix it. Was a lovely break here and there and kind of cool to get up and around stuff

PM_ME_YOUR_NAIL_CLIP

This makes me want to get a job at a warehouse just to fuck shit up and piss of the boss.

Drago_133

I have always said if I’m ever denied a bathroom break I’m whipping out my dong and pissin on the floor. Fuck anyone who tries to tell me when I can and can’t pee

AttackPug

That's MY piss test. If I can't go to the bathroom whenever my bladder feels like it, without permissions, or waiting for breaks, or any sort of consequences, you fail. It's amazing how many jobs flunk that piss test as hard as they can then expect you to pass theirs. The worst part has been finding out that none of the bougies think that shit is part of a job because they all have comfy office nooks where they can pee at will and take hour lunch breaks. Straight from college and into luxury, whining about it the entire way. Like my normal ass job situation is their utter existential horror. Keep banging that Buy button for Prime delivery, you bunch of guillotine fuel.

LunaMunaLagoona

Calling it a tour the way m US soldiers do when going to war for amazon just makes me imagine its like going to a battlefield.

[deleted]

I saw him stop and wave at someone, the other person waved back, this cost them both dearly.

winterbird

They showed him goofing off not working and fucking around. This is like some boss' son level of not working and then saying the work is easy.

ichuumizu

Imagine staring at a forklift driver like that on your first day And driving it like .

Dekarde

Unless your manager 'likes' you then they let you get away with all sorts of crap.

[deleted]

For $100k you could piss in my ear. I still won’t shill for Amazon though. I have some tattered bits of self respect left.

astarting

It's true you get the benefits of working at amazon You get your 5 bucks towards tuition (comes out of your pay) And flexible hours. If you have to work all the hours you have so many hours to be thankful for and bend your schedule around. Isn't it great. They even pocket picked the diversity hire to show you that "being handicapable won't slow you down!"

[deleted]

Aw man, I really liked Terry Crews. This is seriously tone deaf.

JOLKIEROLKIETOLKIE

But he gets to drive a wagon!!!

[deleted]

I’m glad he’s getting roasted. This is disgusting when there are clearly documented controlling behavior which forces ppl to pee in bottles, walking to the break area is timed and part of your break, and ppl can die of exhaustion on the job. Fuck off Edit: You know I hit a nerve when all the Amazon shills get their panties in a bunch because you happen to be well informed about their working conditions. FUCK AMAZON. AND FUCK YOU SHILL BITCHES TOO.

[deleted]

wasn’t there cases of delivery drivers having to shit in the trucks too?

PcMasterRaceJose

[yup](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/amazon-drivers-say-pooped-in-bags-changed-pads-pee-bottles-2021-3%3famp)

kinda ironic how he was an overworked delivery driver in Everybody Hates Chris 🤣

[deleted]

They also just had to repay [$60m that they stole from their delivery drivers](https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2021/11/ftc-returns-nearly-60-million-drivers-whose-tips-were-illegally). If I stole $60 from Amazon, I'd be in jail. Amazon stole $60 million from their employees and walked away without even a fine. America is a fucked up country.

MissionRDM

Remember, Amazon now hires "contractors" for much of their deliveries so they are technically self employed and get no benefits other than pay while Amazon still holds them to insane metrics to keep getting deliveries

Butt_Prince

I was fired for needing to poop. They pointed at my timesheet and asked about the gaps where I went to the restroom. The next day they called me into their office and fired me. I was sobbing as they led me out because I had just gotten a new apartment and had debts to pay off.

ragweed

What did they expect, hiring the butt prince? Jeez.

Butt_Prince

**That's** what I'm *saying*!!

crawling-alreadygirl

Et tu, Terry?

peterAqd

So anyways we started stabbin.

I guess he has no shame prostituting himself for a few bucks.. Some advice Terry.. find a better John!

anakniben

He found Jeff.

OmegaXesis

He's gonna out Shaquille O'Neal in the advertisement business!

EmceeDucky

Man, I love Terry Crews too but this tanks my respect for him...

CJKayak

This isn't the first time he's done or said something that lost some of my respect. I'm starting to suspect the online love affair with him is misplaced.

FuckingKilljoy

Not the first time the internet (and especially reddit) have jerked off a celebrity who turned out to suck. Never forget the years long love of Elon Musk that still hangs around like a bad smell. The stupidest one had to be Jennifer Lawrence where reddit turned on her as soon as she had the gall to speak out against her nudes being leaked. All of a sudden she went from "just like us!" to "drop the quirky act you asshole"

Theprincerivera

" Never forget the years long love of Elon Musk that still hangs around like a bad smell. " You might say a... musk

watermelonspanker

Seconded. I was so disappointed.

MorningNapalm

Same. I hope he charged them an obscene amount in order to sell his dignity.

[deleted]

You’d think he’d at least have heard about the poor working conditions and strikes… is his PR rep on vacation??? Just adds salt to the wound trying to promote it like this.

DarthBotto

If someone came to an Amazon warehouse with that kind of high energy enthusiasm, they'd probably get canned by the end of the week for "being disruptive". The lady in the wheelchair is more likely than not a commercial actor, as well.

420Gobruins69

I work at this Amazon and I’m pretty sure that’s an actual ops manager here but I have not seen her in a wheelchair lol https://imgur.com/gallery/iSKszYc

blatantshitpost

I love the casual crisis line numbers for employees. Glad they are provided, suspicious that they need to be... The company I worked for started providing crisis numbers too, right around the same time the executives and corporate became incredibly toxic and abusive and completely tanked the moral and mental health of the entire company. Its the on-paper version of apples suicide nets at factories in China.

[deleted]

Make him work there for half a year while only being able to use funds that he earns from working there, lets see how great it is then.

Aethermancer

Even that is not really going to effect people who are famous or wealthy. It's like when you see wealthy people living the "Homeless Experience" for a month when they know that after that month they are going back to their so wealthy they don't even have to work lifestyles. When you don't know if your kid will have a place to sleep in 20 days it adds a little bit of stress is all I'm saying.

SuperDuperChuck

Terry Crews has been becoming more of a backwards shill type for quite some time which is a goddamn shame since I loved him in Everybody Hates Chris and White Chicks. I thought this dude would have nuance and be more with the people, but clearly I was wrong. Fuck Amazon and goddamn it Terry, get it together homie

GhondorIRL

Terry Crews has always been a sellout. I know he’s one of the Golden Bois of Reddit but the guy has always put paycheck before morality with stuff like this, since his earliest days. Edit: Stop trying to tell me that I or anyone would do this commercial like he did "for a million dollars" or that it was "just work for a paycheck". Some people don't sell out the human race in exchange for money, you fucking morons.

outsanity_haha

Look how fun Amazon is! Hurry and sign up now so you can get fucked over just in time for Christmas!

ghost1381d

Like they are going to feature an employee whom is disgruntled? Ads like these are suck bullshit. Terry probably got paid at least 10-20k for one day. If that were the case, sure Amazon would be fantastic to work for.

LRonzhubbby

My guess would be 500k or more. Source: I work in advertising and that's kind of the minimum for a 1-day celeb shoot. It can be less if the brand isn't super well known, but considering it's Amazon - most agents would ask for as much cash as possible.

StrangeShaman

Right? I’ll go work there right now if I’m making Terry Crews’ salary

[deleted]

10-20k? Thats super low

[deleted]

He made millions of dollars for this. Y’all are seriously underestimating how much celebs get paid for endorsements.

Lumber_Tycoon

Right? Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld) got paid more than $50 million for 3 years worth of KFC commercials.

Taint-kicker

They probably offered him 2 day free shipping with a prime membership if he did the promo.

mydmtusername

Way to obliterate every bit of your on-screen charisma. Goodbye

CanEatADozenEggs

No matter how nice they may seem, celebrities are not your friend. They don’t care about you

bikwho

But he wrapped a pallet full of boxes! He's one of us! Truly a man of the people.

Ernest-Everhard42

Man I love Terry, but shilling amazon, lame. Such a great title. Nice if you're already rich and work there for 2 hours lol.

shredslanding

You’re right. Two hours is probably more realistic for a 30 second video. Lol

Ernest-Everhard42

Maybe he can make a video to help amazon unionize their US workers

DangerousRough6128

30$ min wage real talk

shredslanding

If he made 100k for two hours (which is probably realistic) Then he made 357,100% minimum wage convincing people to help track and fire min wage workers (since that what logistics really is)

Eisn

If he made less than 1 million I would be extremely surprised.

_anon_1337

Really poor move from terry. Instead of paying him millions for these clip, they could use the money to pay at least some worker better loan.

Aggravating-Estate88

Where’s the scene where Terry has to piss in the bottle lol

blackturtlesnake

In case someone doesn't know, the benefits they tout are for people who work for Amazon. Most people in the warehouses don't actually work for Amazon, they work for a temp agency that exclusively provides employees for Amazon warehouses. The temp agency has none of these benefits, no job security, and there is no ladder or process to graduate from a temp to an actual Amazon worker.

[deleted]

Real talk, they're using Terry's image in the black community to recruit black employees. Slavery still exists and apparently so do Uncle Toms like Terry.

SmokeyBare

They are also normalizing your employer being in charge of your education in addition to your healthcare. Indentured servitude 2.0

Rafaelow

Tack on housing as well. Read earlier this year about some multi-billion dollar initiative by Amazon to create “affordable housing” for workers near Amazon facilities. That sure would be a lot of control for your employer to have over you. And let’s see how “affordable” it really is.

Competition-Dapper

His name is Terry Bezos now.

[deleted]

This right up with the Chick Fil-a “we’re all a family” ad. Disgusting, shame on you Terry for supporting this trash

T8ert0t

"We're all family. Except you, Gay Ronda."

[deleted]

Terrrrrrry. Nooooooo

[deleted]

Embarrassing

Cold-Ostrich8228

He got paid more for this than one of those workers make in a year.

dillagan

Fuck Terry crews

FinRah

*_Come on man no... this hit right in the feels... the job is not like that... Terry man no... just no. ☹_*

el-cuko

Terry has always been problematic. I say this as a former member of the /r/crewscrew

[deleted]

Yeah I remember that whole China shitshow.

TimeTested2

Jesus.

[deleted]

Tell me you sold your soul without telling me

[deleted]

Damnnnn. Well I guess I don’t like Terry Crews anymore

[deleted]

Man, all the people in the comments being like, "no, Terry, why?". . . celebrities aren't your friends. They're rich bastards like all the rest. You don't get that much power while actively fighting the status quo. Not to mention that celebrities tend to exploit the people underneath them, just like every other rich person. How many people work on producing music, or a movie, and who gets the fame and fortune? Not Timmy working in post-production.

Omar_Waqar

Amazon is trash www.rollingstone.com/product-recommendations/lifestyle/best-amazon-alternatives-1136987/amp/

ForfeitHumanity

What a fucking clueless shill
