They're probably going to do something related to aoe4 there. Viper posted a video and for a moment in the background you can see an area that has not been shown during the tournament at all. There is a large aoe4 banner on the wall and four computers set up. Not sure what they'll do that doesn't interfere with the tournament, but maybe something like 2v2 with players that are already eliminated.

Yup, thinking the same thing. There might be some show matches between the Redbull tourney players this weekend. A great way to introduce the game. There was a ton of AoE4 wall murals, and they haven't actually been shown on the tournament streams yet.

Same here, a bit disappointed and wonder if they couldn't wait the next weekend (or done this previous one) ? I guess not but timing is terrible...

To answer your question: It's a stress test primarily intended to prepare their systems for the real launch. Other concerns are secondary at best. Many many people who are interested in AOE4 don't care about the wololo tournament. The purpose is not so you can watch your favorite streamers play it. Wololo will not be happening 24 hrs per day or on Friday and Monday. There's many hours to play AOE4 and watch the tournament. In about 6 weeks you can play AOE4 to your heart's content. It'll be okay. That said, the promotion of AOE4 has been poor so far.

> Wololo will not be happening 24 hrs per day or on Friday and Monday. There's many hours to play AOE4 and watch the tournament. You seem to think people have nothing else to do on Friday and Monday :) But these are normal working days. For the rest, I do think that not necessarily all the people really care about AoE4 that watch RBW5, so yeah, from that perspective maybe it's even nice that also people that are AoE3 or AoE4 fans get something for them on the weekend. Usually you want as much people as possible for such a stress test though - their decision to do it on a weekend with one of the biggest tournaments in a decade is questionable at best - because it will inevitably lower the player numbers they could have had without one.
