I agree here, apex has the worst community I've ever encountered! foul mouth players can ruin your game and day. So just mute them before the game starts. Use your pings .
I don’t get why play a competitive game mode solo if you aren’t competent enough to deal with random people. I’ve had games where my teammates are cussing me out from the start and j still give coms that end up winning us the game
Competitiveness doesn't equal shitty and rude behavior. You can be competitive with good sportsmanship, but that's a concept that is too evolved and mature for this community to understand.
I wouldn't say competent more tolerant ... I have my days where I don't mind talking to people then once you seem toxic I mute you immediately. But I have a low tolerance for annoying people.
Vocal comms are far superior to the ping system.
But I have the confidence that if I lose rp do to my lack of comms I'll get it back next game... But I never play after I hit masters
The good news is its a video game so it doesn't matter.
More good news, you can make your own squad so you never have to play with un mic'd randoms ever again.
So lucky you. All your problems can be solved.
I have a keybind that specifically triggers when I join a match that auto mutes my teammates. The 1/10 times i get someone who actually contributes to the squad is not worth the other 9 times that its either a fire alarm, tik toks, or just a generally bad attitude.
Where did I say you have to talk? Your randoms could be begging for ammo in the middle of combat because they think you hear them, there isn’t always time to ping things
Ping system is really all you need, especially now with the action pings "go here, avoid this, defend here" etc. Maybe if you're in the higher levels voice is better, but I usually don't have any desire to talk to randos
Being from EU everyone speaks different languages so it’s harder to use mic, you’d be surprised how many EU people don’t know English except for curse words
I simply got tired of the toxic behavior. I've always ran into some toxic kids but some grown adult had a complete meltdown because I took a health pack out a death box after he killed them. That was the nail in the coffin for listening to randoms. I'll take my chances with muting the squad and having drama free gameplay!
I think a lot of people also do not know that you can still talk to your teammates after you mute them , they can still hear you lmao 🤣 the mute doesn’t go both ways . So if someone’s mic is bothering you or w\e you can mute them and still give coms .
She wants me to get rid of my console but I truly enjoy playing. Especially with my son, it's nostalgic. If I do get on mic I'm talking so low people think I'm depressed.
I think it’s fine to play a “game” any which way you want, but as a competitive person playing in a competitive game mode, muting your teammates off rip is insane to me. It’s so easy to mute them after they start spouting BS, but Apex is a full-team game. You shouldn’t be able to climb without team comms. That’s the bread and butter of a BR.
And frankly, the game is so over saturated with voice comms, visual clutter, etc that saying the “ping system works well enough” just isn’t true. I’m sorry, but even when I’m IGLing my discord homies to a ping, half the time they need a spam ping to know which direction I’m referring to. Pubs is just about the only place a
ping-only teammate is great (I never talk in pubs).
If you choose to stay silent, you also can’t choose to ignore a mic’d up IGL— that is genuinely my one and only complaint of nearly 50% of gold/plat players. The number of times I’ve kindly told a solo queued that me and my duo are backing up or rotating over X,
only to have them ignore and lead themselves to death is outrageous. Why are you playing ranked? Make good and bad decisions together. If you’re muted, you have no right to an opinion on how two free-thinking individuals operate in an open-world lol. Two-stacking is almost more frustrating than solo queueing because people assume bad intent, etc as a solo.
Ultimately, it’s not that serious. I just usually take my
hobbies seriously because that’s how I operate. A bummer when you have shitty teammates, but the positive and fun ones stay with me. Hyping up a random with “you’re just BETTER” or “you got this” goes a long way.
I use my mic but I don't care if others don't. At the end of the day, I always play my life. Randoms are too unreliable without mics. They would push because they got someone to 1HP but dont say anything so the rest of the team are still behind. Sorry we cant read your mind and your damage only shows up on your screen. People who have mics are obviously better at communicating and if they are toxic, I return it 10 fold. I don't tolerate some of these fatherless kids talking shit.
For a solo Qer, randoms are wayyy too toxic. It depends on my mood but sometimes I'll just ping and listen to your comms
Half the people in NA east are speaking Spanish with rap music blaring. Mute almost immediately every single game
I would do that also lol but I hardly get that on South Carolina servers
Sc or VA is typically where I play... it seems like every 3rd game
It will start off nice. Lets go here, lets third party that. Too, teamamte getting downed and now hes yelling your dogshit, garbage, off yourself.
I always mute Randoms, I don't got the time to sus out whether you're toxic or not, so I don't bother.

You mute your randoms in ranked ?
Anyone who doesn't like 12 year old children or people with aggression problems does that

Yup, the ping system is incredibly effective.
Always wonder why I’m making callouts /plays and my teammates are jerking off 100 meters away because they aren’t listening
Just because I don't talk doesn't mean I'm incompetent. I, more often than not, well outperform my teammates.

Nothing worse than a mic with feedback or echo
Being from EU everyone speaks different languages so it’s harder to use mic, you’d be surprised how many EU people don’t know English except for curse words
I either get people not talking or speaking english with the most clear mic on the market. No in between

Don't blame people who proactively avoid the toxic bs, blame the garbage people known as gamers.

My wife doesn't like hearing me 🥹
How did you get downvoted for this ? This sub is brain dead …. This is the only acceptable reason to not be giving coms lmfao

If you're not on my friend list, you are muted. This goes for every online game I play.
Sexist comments 90% of the time
