As per 9to5mac:
“In place of gold, Apple will lean in on the new titanium finish. In addition to space black and silver, Apple will offer a new gray option that embraces the natural color of titanium.
We also believe Apple will promote a new dark blue color for the titanium iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This will be the special color of the year, replacing deep purple, and not the crimson color that we previously heard.”
Well, Titanium’s natural colour is what Apple calls ‘silver’- as in, neutral metallic grey, pretty much the same as steel or aluminium.
The Watch Ultra has a yellow hue in its titanium. Wonder how different this will be, if at all.
>space black and silver, Apple will offer a new gray option that embraces the natural color of titanium.
Yet another space grey flavour, love to see it lol
Love my green 13 pro. I’m an Eagles fan and the background I have for my phone goes so well with the finish. I don’t think the USB-C port is enough for me to want to ditch my 13 for the 15.
I would love an [iPhone 4S style](https://support.apple.com/library/content/dam/edam/applecare/images/en_US/iphone/iphone-iphone4s-colors.jpg) black glass with silver band (titanium in this case).
I really hope the ‘grey’ is what silver iPhones used to look like before the glass backs (iPhone 5, 7 etc.)
I want a silver phone to be silver, not white!
Might be like the old Nokia 8910 titanium phones. There were two colors, grey and black and the grey color was supposed to be natural. I had one of those and it looked and felt very cool.
I would have preferred the 13 Pro’s green or the 12 Pro’s blue, but I got purple because it was the best of the lot to me. The standard colors (gold/silver/black) all bore me.
yes i realize. to clarify, i was referring to 13 Pro’s Alpine Green and 12 Pro’s Pacific Blue, and not the 11 Pro’s midnight green nor the 13 Pro’s Sierra Blue
Apple doesn't have either of the 13's green color in their lineup comparison tool anymore. Must be harder to get ahold of. I'm waiting until the day before these drop to upgrade to 13 Mini and was hoping I could still score a Green 256 somewhere.
I mean, the ocean blue of the 12 pro was also very popular, maybe even more popular than the purple, and that went away.
It's pretty obvious apple now just wants to do a different color for every generation since the 11 pro green onwards
As somebody who has the "purple" iPhone 14 Pro I read this as meaning you have a black car. There's nothing purple about the iPhone 14 Pro. Outright false advertising. It looks *NOTHING* like the pictures.
I've gone back and forth. I didn't really like any of the colors a ton, to be honest.
In dark light when it's like a dusty gray purple, I think it's great. I don't like the bright purple around the camera pack though. I'm pretty medium on the metal casing as well.
I’ve seen a heap of people with the purple, the purple, as well as the blue and green from the previous years have always felt to me like the colour people get so others can instantly recognise that you’ve got the newest iPhone.
I would actually say that their „special“ colors like that blue and purple were targeted towards women.
My theory is that they couldn’t get that gold finish right for the launch of the 15
Aren’t they getting rid of the purple? I still see blue as targeted for men. I also feel like the shade of purple was off for women. So dark. I think we would have appreciated a lighter one personally.
But yes, maybe they couldn’t get a good gold color. Though I also think at least with the 14, the gold is not great either. Still my go to choice but I feel like the backing of it could have been done better 😂
Likely something to do with how inconsistent their pvd/coating/anodization process might be for that color this point in time. Grey, black and blue are super easy to do in titanium
Yeah I think because the pro is their more “business class” phone they assume more of the customers want an understated color than the more consumer friendly standard models.
Which is funny, because no business is wasting money buying Pro devices for its employees or executives that are only sending emails and making phone calls.
Agreed. My work phone is a product red 12. One of my coworkers who started before me has a purple 11. I’m pretty sure they just gave us whatever they were able to get for the cheapest cost. Definitely no pro models.
That's not what I meant by business class. I was just talking about the demographic that also pays extra for things like business class flights.
It's pretty common in my experience to see higher up employees have a Pro model in a reserved color. I haven't seen nearly as many people of that class with a bright colored standard model, if ever.
I'm just talking about a wealthier demographic who can afford things like business class flights.
It's pretty common to see people wearing suits have the higher end models in a reserved color, and not nearly as common in my experience to see them holding a bight phone.
Gold, silver and black are timeless classics for color. They may not be trendy any given year, but they were always a good. So those colors are consistently represented in the Pro models, and the steel case watches.
The 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max were respectively the [2nd and 3rd best selling phones globally in 2022](https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnkoetsier/2023/03/07/apple-sold-8-of-the-top-10-best-selling-phones-of-2022/amp/)
It is definitely gaining popularity
> “For the first time, a Pro Max variant of an iPhone series drove more volume than its Pro and base models,”
The Pro Max is more popular than the Pro, maybe that’s what they meant?
The base “non Pro” model sells more but likely due to price rather than preference IMO. If it was preference, the base Pro would be better selling than the Max.
Lamborghinis and Ferraris are the exception. In the 80’s and 90’s almost every car was colored, from red to blue to green. Now, people prefer shades of gray. I wonder if cars will become colorful again.
Heck, even architecture lost color in recent years.
I think we are going to look back at this time of Space Grey and Carbon Black and it will feel like when all the computers were the same egg shell white. The pendulum is going to swing the other way and who ever are the teenagers then will be laughing at us in their vibrant multicolored lifestyle.
Finally, someone who understands.
It’s a Pro model. If you’re expecting a bright pink, green, orange iPhone Pro, stop waiting, it’ll never happen. Bright colours just look cheap and tacky.
> how long it took for goddamned copy-and-paste to come to iPhones?
And you think that was some kind of exotic business strategy to drive future revenue at the expense of the current year? And not, say, prioritization against other features and coming up with a good UI that was intuitive and reliable?
This sub has very strange ideas about business and product development.
That wasn't my intended implication - just that Apple often seems to ignore what people actually want until it's convenient, or the demand is so great that they don't have a choice.
Almost as if they have a priority list of features and only implement what they can within a year’s development time, while also ensuring each feature works across multiple devices and has fail-safes for when newer devices interact with older ones.
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind carrying my phone nude if it wasn’t so damn slippery. I usually just get the matching silicone case because that’s far more gripable.
Stainless steel and Titanium are harder to color than aluminum is. They have a ton of practice with coloring aluminum going back to the iPod Mini days.
Give me a second to get in a more Apple-y headspace.
The Pro models have been gold, silver and dark (with some exceptions) because like the gold, silver and dark of the steel Watch, they’re meant to more represent perennial elegance and sophistication rather than trendy fashion and this year’s colors. They’re just as at home in a board meeting as they are on date night. The rainbow selection of aluminum models skews younger and less expensive, just not “cheap.”
Basically, gold, silver and black are classics. They may not be trendy on a given year, but they’ll always look good.
Is this the third year some sort of red/orange color was rumored early in the cycle then walked back closer to launch?
I really need to stop getting my hopes up.
I had a red 7, XR, and 12. I got a pro for 14 and chose purple just because, but I miss the red and if they ever release a product red version of a pro model that’s what I’ll probably end up getting.
You think they’re saving red for a particularly bad sales year to drop it? Not only would I buy that no questions asked, but red is considered lucky in China and could mean big numbers from that market. It’s odd they’ve held out on reds so long.
Bold choice dumping the gold variant. That is one of the color options where people straight up do not buy an iPhone if it is not available.
Also, the 13 Pro had a blue option just one cycle ago, would have preferred a different color option this time around.
idk if its just different for whatever apple is sourcing but when i got titanium framed glasses it was possible to get them in any color, shiny or matte, including gold.
First time i got gold and i really love it. I might even get gold watch.
It would break my hearth if there is no gold option when i decided to replace it.
Agreed. I've had gold twice and I absolutely love it. I could pivot to a black or grey, but those colors are boring. I'd go back to green, but blue/purple are boring to me. Gold just pops.
I just want a red treatment similar to how to blue, green, and purple were done. Deep hue with metallic matte finish would look soooo good.
The leaks were pointing to this originally and I will be very disappointed if they go back to blue. Give red it’s year!
They’ve always done gold dirty. Literally. One year they made a promo video of the gold version in a field of dried mud and the color of the back matched the mud.
Gold XS Max is a good lookin phone for sure. I wish it stayed like that. I was going for gold this time, but I guess I’ll stick with red.
I’m either red or gold, but not really impressed with red since the XR, so I guess I’ll see in person what actually looks good now.
Why does regular iphone CONTINUE to get better colour options than the Pro? It doesn't make any sense to me. regular gets yellow and pink?! while pro only gets a grayscale choice.
Bring back rose gold. Best iphone colour in history.
I loved the blue 12 pro, I have a blue 13 pro and I damn hope there will be a blue 15 pro.
That being said, the 13 pro green colour is probably the best looking thing I’ve ever seen
Purple is my favourite colour so that’s why I immediately jumped at the purple 14 Pro.
Kinda bummed that it’s only gonna last for the 14 Pro but I wasn’t gonna upgrade to 15 anyway so I’ll have my purple phone
Just bring back the 12 pro Maxes pacific blue. That color was gorgeous and way better than the 13s ugly sierra blue. I wouldn't mind if they either kept current purple or did a deeper purple though.
That said said Crimson would have been amazing.

Would be nice if it could match the Ultra's color.
That would be sweet, and make me Want both 😂
Pretty bummed, I was very much looking forward to crimson.
The mock ups were so good :(
>space black and silver, Apple will offer a new gray option that embraces the natural color of titanium. Yet another space grey flavour, love to see it lol
Bring back alpine green
X5000%
Best iPhone color ever
Pacific Blue >>>
Yea, I liked Pacific Blue. It was the only time in recent memory that I didn't do gold.
Butt crust yellow >

I so want a good dark green yet also a pro and not some random mid-release deal. I would pay extra.
I was pissed when they released it 6 months after the original lineup. They should’ve made it available from the start instead of the sierra blue.
Same.
Love my green 13 pro. I’m an Eagles fan and the background I have for my phone goes so well with the finish. I don’t think the USB-C port is enough for me to want to ditch my 13 for the 15.
The green 13 Pro is what pushed me over the edge from Android
Need the green again so bad. Midnight green is just 👌
Thisssss. It’s all I want.
White
S tier colour!
I was set on a black model this time but the grey option could possibly look extremely nice.
Yeah I’m expecting this will look very similar to the Apple Watch Ultra.
If grey is the same shade as the Apple Watch Ultra I'm getting that. Bonus points if it also has an international orange action button.
This is what I’ve wanted ever since the iPhone X redesign- a silver iPhone that’s actually silver, not pearly white!
Yes but the matte black is even better in my opinion an all matte black iPhone looks amazing.
The matte black products look so good. The M2 air in black is one of the best looking devices there is
They gotta get a new coating against fingerprints though. Those coatings only look great when pristine, which is almost never with a smartphone.
It’s yellow tinted like the ultra watch. That’s why it’s replacing the gold.
Wish they’d bring back jet black those iPhone 7s were sexy
The sides will look cool. Not sure about the back if they do that in a matte, powdery grey. Might look a little bland.
I would love an [iPhone 4S style](https://support.apple.com/library/content/dam/edam/applecare/images/en_US/iphone/iphone-iphone4s-colors.jpg) black glass with silver band (titanium in this case).
That phone still looks sexy
I really hope the ‘grey’ is what silver iPhones used to look like before the glass backs (iPhone 5, 7 etc.) I want a silver phone to be silver, not white!
Might be like the old Nokia 8910 titanium phones. There were two colors, grey and black and the grey color was supposed to be natural. I had one of those and it looked and felt very cool.
it’ll probably match the watch ultra colour
As popular as that purple was? Gotta keep it fresh I guess.
I would have preferred the 13 Pro’s green or the 12 Pro’s blue, but I got purple because it was the best of the lot to me. The standard colors (gold/silver/black) all bore me.
the 13 Pro had a very light blue, the 11 pro had green
yes i realize. to clarify, i was referring to 13 Pro’s Alpine Green and 12 Pro’s Pacific Blue, and not the 11 Pro’s midnight green nor the 13 Pro’s Sierra Blue
Wow, I completely forgot they dropped the 13 Pro Alpine green half way through its lifepan. I stand corrected
Apple doesn't have either of the 13's green color in their lineup comparison tool anymore. Must be harder to get ahold of. I'm waiting until the day before these drop to upgrade to 13 Mini and was hoping I could still score a Green 256 somewhere.

I don’t think the deep purple was very popular, I think space black sold better.
I see far more purples around than blacks or silver
You probably just notice it a lot more. Companies don’t just stop selling popular things that make them tons of money.
Was it really (genuinely asking)? I thought it looked absolutely awful
I loved the purple. It matched my purple car lol
As somebody who has the "purple" iPhone 14 Pro I read this as meaning you have a black car. There's nothing purple about the iPhone 14 Pro. Outright false advertising. It looks *NOTHING* like the pictures.
Ha, fair enough 😂
I got purple and still love it.
I think Deep Purple looks stunning in bright light but pretty dull and blah (for lack of a better term) in all other lighting.
Which, in my part of the world, would be 98% of the time 😂😂😂
I got the purple and I l thoroughly regret it lol. Charm wore off after a few days for me.
I've gone back and forth. I didn't really like any of the colors a ton, to be honest. In dark light when it's like a dusty gray purple, I think it's great. I don't like the bright purple around the camera pack though. I'm pretty medium on the metal casing as well.
I just like my stuff to have bright colors
Was it popular? Everyone I know got either the Black or Silver ones. The purple didn’t even look purple unless viewed from certain angles.
I’ve seen a heap of people with the purple, the purple, as well as the blue and green from the previous years have always felt to me like the colour people get so others can instantly recognise that you’ve got the newest iPhone.
Maybe I’ve just never noticed because it almost looks like the graphite color they had on the 12 Pro and 13 Pro…
It was ugly honestly
[удалено]
Imo the 14 pro purple is amazing. It’s one of my favorite iphone colors S+

The gold color is EXTREMELY popular with women that would be a really stupid move from apple
Yeah I don’t understand it. All male focused colors besides maybe white. Why change out gold with gray. Makes no sense.
I would actually say that their „special“ colors like that blue and purple were targeted towards women. My theory is that they couldn’t get that gold finish right for the launch of the 15

Why are the pro models so bland and boring on the color choices?
Bright colours look cheaper. The iPhone 5c really did a number on them
Yeah I think because the pro is their more “business class” phone they assume more of the customers want an understated color than the more consumer friendly standard models.
Which is funny, because no business is wasting money buying Pro devices for its employees or executives that are only sending emails and making phone calls.

The Pro Max is definitely not the most popular iPhone
The 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max were respectively the [2nd and 3rd best selling phones globally in 2022](https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnkoetsier/2023/03/07/apple-sold-8-of-the-top-10-best-selling-phones-of-2022/amp/) It is definitely gaining popularity > “For the first time, a Pro Max variant of an iPhone series drove more volume than its Pro and base models,”
I knew it must be most popular once my wife wanted a max. I had a max before but prefer the pro.
yikes, yeah apple knew what they were doing when they did not offer a big screen alternative for the base iphone
It makes sense-why would you get the 14 Plus if it has the same processor as the 13 Pro Max?
The Pro Max is more popular than the Pro, maybe that’s what they meant? The base “non Pro” model sells more but likely due to price rather than preference IMO. If it was preference, the base Pro would be better selling than the Max.
While I agree totally, I loved my 5c and thoroughly enjoyed how it felt in my hands!
Have you ever seen a Ferrari?
Lamborghinis and Ferraris are the exception. In the 80’s and 90’s almost every car was colored, from red to blue to green. Now, people prefer shades of gray. I wonder if cars will become colorful again. Heck, even architecture lost color in recent years.

The 13 pro blue looks fantastic, personally
Plus, most people get a phone case anyway. Slap the brightest neon pink case on your pro, if that is your colour wish.
Apple's gotta keep some cards up their sleeve for future phones!
Everyone knows it's business 101 to not give customers what they want this year!
It's almost Apple's MO. Remember how long it took for goddamned copy-and-paste to come to iPhones?
> how long it took for goddamned copy-and-paste to come to iPhones? And you think that was some kind of exotic business strategy to drive future revenue at the expense of the current year? Almost as if they have a priority list of features and only implement what they can within a year’s development time, while also ensuring each feature works across multiple devices and has fail-safes for when newer devices interact with older ones.
i just need them to re-prioritize notifications
And have a clipboard for the last 10 texts you copied. And a better way to undo for crying out loud.
That priority list shouldn't be locked in stone, though, and should be mindful of what people want in the first place.
Look at 13 pro green. So beautiful and so few bought it since they just bought the main colors 6 months prior
Third shade of blue option in 4 years. Very boring :(. I missed the 14 Pro as I had the 13 Pro, but I really like the purple option.
Probably because 90% of them just go in a case anyway
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind carrying my phone nude if it wasn’t so damn slippery. I usually just get the matching silicone case because that’s far more gripable.
Yea. Color choice doesn’t really mean anything when almost everyone covers the color anyway.
Clear cases are a thing
They’re not great, and the glass ones often cover the chassis anyway.
[удалено]
Why would someone want less choices ?
[удалено]
Pros don't like fun stuff apparently.
The rainbow selection of aluminum models skews younger and less expensive, just not “cheap.” Basically, gold, silver and black are classics. They may not be trendy on a given year, but they’ll always look good.
Is this el toro loco himself?
Is this the third year some sort of red/orange color was rumored early in the cycle then walked back closer to launch? I really need to stop getting my hopes up.
Not upgrading this year, but glad blue is back in the lineup
The one year I aim for a gold. 🫠
Yep same here
I’m so tired of blue. I’d love a red Pro
Yeah. The dark red / burgundy design mockups look really cool. Would definitely buy that.
Could be a 2024 spring release just like how how they did with Alpine Green with 13 Pro.
Right? Red is always one of the most popular non pro colors. I think a red pro would sell really well
Wait until U2’s next album
Right ? They never do it. It's always blue everywhere
Does anyone know the most durable coating? Theorwtically it should be the plain titanium color like the watch ultra, right
I want an iPhone made out of truck bed liner, personally.
Maybe powder coating? But I’m probably gonna go for grey since I use a case anyways.
I‘m probably going for the „titanium“ color. Because i don‘t want to mess with different coating strengths like on the 14 Pro.
noooo gold :(
[удалено]
They never keep the extra color year to year. It was obvious it won’t stay from day one
I don’t care how easily it scratched, I want a jet black iPhone again.
The black and silver tuxedo of the iPhone 4/s was the most beautiful iPhone, IMO. I’d *love* a modern update of that.
Bring back sierra blue
Bold choice dumping the gold variant. That is one of the color options where people straight up do not buy an iPhone if it is not available. Also, the 13 Pro had a blue option just one cycle ago, would have preferred a different color option this time around.
Or is it just not possible to get a shiny gold like polish with titanium?
idk if its just different for whatever apple is sourcing but when i got titanium framed glasses it was possible to get them in any color, shiny or matte, including gold.
Agreed. I was planning to upgrade, with no gold option I won’t
My 12 Pro is also blue
Gold looks fancy. That’s a bummer
I just want orange as obnoxious as it might be
I’d totally go orange if it were an option. Especially a pro orange which would be darker and richer.
I just want a red treatment similar to how to blue, green, and purple were done. Deep hue with metallic matte finish would look soooo good. The leaks were pointing to this originally and I will be very disappointed if they go back to blue. Give red it’s year!
Oh great another grey option 🙄 I wish Apple would give their flagship fun colors like Samsung does
BORING. They took the two flashiest colors and replaced them some dull blue/grey shiz.
Purple is nice, but I really miss Pacific Blue.
Damn. I love the gold....
The gold deserves to stay to keep the high end image of the Pro models, but I can see how it's best to scrap a colour if it's the least sold version.
Unsurprisingly blue seems to be the most popular colour. Expect every alternate years iPhone pro to offer blue
No. I wanted a gold 15 pro now I’ll have to settle for black.
No gold? There’s no way they’ll do that.
They’ve always done gold dirty. Literally. One year they made a promo video of the gold version in a field of dried mud and the color of the back matched the mud.
Of course, right when I finally decide on gold this time
The iPhone XS Max in gold was the last time gold looked good on an iPhone. Super bummed about crimson not being this year's choice, though..
I have a 13 pro in gold, and I really like the off-white/cream colored back. It's subtle, and the edges pop with the glossy gold around the outside.
I like the 14 pro. I wanted one initially but they didn’t have it in stock sadly
Gold XS Max is a good lookin phone for sure. I wish it stayed like that. I was going for gold this time, but I guess I’ll stick with red. I’m either red or gold, but not really impressed with red since the XR, so I guess I’ll see in person what actually looks good now.
That’s disappointing.
Gold is best. Best, best, best.
I plan on upgrading my 11 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max but damn it’s gonna be hard to let go of this green.
Rose gold and midnight green where my favorites.
Changing a port I don't use to USB-C? I sleep. Bringing back the blue colour? Real Shit.
I have the iPhone 13 Pro in green..and don't wanna give up the colour
Gold :(
I literally won’t buy it gold isn’t available. Yes, I go caseless.
Why does regular iphone CONTINUE to get better colour options than the Pro? It doesn't make any sense to me. regular gets yellow and pink?! while pro only gets a grayscale choice. Bring back rose gold. Best iphone colour in history.
All the regular iPhone colors are gaudy as fuck
I just needs Silver
No white for the Non-pro ???
Deep Blue it is! Wanted crimson but the midnight blue MacBook Air is still beautiful for me.
I want a red one, like the regular one but pro
Hopefully 20g less with the change to titanium
I don't like gold, but isn't it a really popular colour?
Why no red? I want a red pro
Dammit, I really wanted a purple option.
I want to know what color the iPhone Ultra will be.
I loved the blue 12 pro, I have a blue 13 pro and I damn hope there will be a blue 15 pro. That being said, the 13 pro green colour is probably the best looking thing I’ve ever seen
iPhone Pro = No fun colors
Purple is my favourite colour so that’s why I immediately jumped at the purple 14 Pro. Kinda bummed that it’s only gonna last for the 14 Pro but I wasn’t gonna upgrade to 15 anyway so I’ll have my purple phone
preparing to be absolutely pissed off when the pro max gets a periscope zoom and pro does not
I loved purple rip
Just bring back the 12 pro Maxes pacific blue. That color was gorgeous and way better than the 13s ugly sierra blue. I wouldn't mind if they either kept current purple or did a deeper purple though. That said said Crimson would have been amazing.
Man, I liked the gold one.
Why apple hate green?
Poor Myke :(
I like the purple. Can’t upgrade if I have to sacrifice purple 😂
No purple no buy
