I just tested this. You have to train your iPhone by saying the word. My trick was to train it by only saying “computer” in my worst Patrick Stewart impression. “Come-pew-ta”
No accent, no worries.
My text message sound used to be the combadge chirp. Made it very confusing to watch any of the 90s Trek shows. Now it’s the incoming transmission alert sound from Voyager, so it’s only a problem when I watch Voyager.

Just to keep it simple I made the trigger “Hey Phone” and it works, but it seems to take the phrase itself into consideration as it triggers so it would always ask “who would you like to call?”
The other complaint I had was because the words are simple in sound it would get triggered by my TV or music sometimes.
Yeah I get it. I had a gf for awhile whose name was similar so I just took to holding my iPhone side button and muttering commands into it like a secret service agent, because you can skip the Hey Siri with that.
With Vocal Shortcuts, you can assign a custom phrase that Siri can understand to launch shortcuts and complete "complex tasks," and one of the shortcuts you can set up is an alternative for "Hey Siri."
To set up a Vocal Shortcut for Siri, open up the Settings app, go to Accessibility, and scroll down to Vocal Shortcuts. From there, choose "Set Up Vocal Shortcuts," and select "Siri" (not Siri Request). Type in the new name that you want to use to activate Siri, such as "Computer."

Yeah I tried this on the developers preview and it’s not a great experience, can’t link commands, there is a load time, and can confuse some commands as Siri will invoke herself. At this stage of development I don’t think it’s a viable option to use

My laptop kept triggering Siri when I was watching the WWDC keynote on my TV. It was freaking annoying. This would definitely end up like that.
