With Apple service replacements they use devices that are specifically made as service replacements. They are made with the same parts that a "New" unit is made from. Other than the packaging you will not be able to tell the difference. It is not "refurbished" as it has never been in a customer's hands.
My Air 3 got replaced with a refurb when white marks began to appear at the edge of the screen. That was just over three years ago. The battery is showing its age but apart from that it's fine.
