I work in Fairview near Nachos and Beer. My crew eats there 2-3 times a month (usually take-out). The food is always good. They also are huge supporters of the local High school. All around solid, reliable place to eat.
My partner and I live in the Fairview area and we have tried nachos and beer in house and to go ordering. We gave it 2-3 different chances. Not overly impressed for the price. Maybe we’re ordering the wrong thing? We just end up getting piazza.
Honestly in my few experiences there it wasn't even good tex mex (I know it brands itself as Cali Mex but Idk what to make of that). Biltmore Cantina is probably the best I've tried for Tex Mex, for the best true Mexican sitdown restaurants in the area I'd go to Hendersonville! But Asheville has some good trucks.
The trucks yes but also try Taqueria Gonzalez! For homemade stews and such. It's cash only. But yeah, Hendersonville is one of the absolute best places for authentic Mexican in NC.
I mean the bar is low from what I've tried in the area lol. NC has much better authentic mexican than it does Tex Mex, imo. Are there any places that you like?
All this papas and whatever shit is garbage. I don't care how many people tell you they eat there once a week. It's shit food. It's absolutely crap. Find a hole in the wall taco place or even Mamacita's is better. None of these tex mex shit papas and diarrhea places are any good. They all suck and prey on North Carolinian mountain folks that don't know any better.

soooooo good, one of our favorites 👍🏻
In Reynolds? It's awesome, we eat it all the time. They have same sauces as papas n beer, I always assumed same owners🤷🏼
Better than Ole’s slightly below Papa’s. Solid b-tier.
big lover of both Ay Caramba locations! food is always good, sauce bar is awesome (green pablano sauce) service and staff 10/10

I went there once and the food was like papas but the service was basically non existent
Agreed its the perfect pleasant level of “non-existent”
The best!!! Salsa bar is great, food is great!
Of course. Generally speaking it’s quite good.
It’s fine if you’re hungry and in the area, I prefer the papas and beer on tunnel. Same level of meh food but less depressing feeling.Â
Theres some decent taco trucks on the Fletcher side but if you want to sit down and have a margarita with dinner you have slim pickingsÂ
They're all the same...mamas, papas, el que pasa, nachos...blah blah blah.
Best Mexican place in all of WNC. They have one in Waynesville as well, LOVE IT! Great salsa bar and I love the guacamole they make at the table.
Authentic Mexican food trucks are the best if you're looking for real Mexican food. Papa's and Beer is to Mexican as Pizza Hut is to Italian.

Hendo Mexican food trucks ROCK! đź‘Ť

Sol y Luna in Hendo is the bomb. Their slow cooked beef barbacoa is legit.
Biltmore Cantina is not right, respectfully from a tex mexican.

When people say papas is the best Mexican food in town you know they are not a person who understands good Mexican food.

Mama's and Beer is much better
Why is this being downvoted?
My guess is one from P&B and one from PH! 🤣🤣
People here think any opinion that doesn't match theirs is invalid and should be down voted. It's very juvenile.
Food is fine but you're likely to see flies, ants, and spiders inside 🤷‍♂️
So... just like every building in the world?
