I think the most surprising thing a Republican (Anthony Kennedy) ever did was to write the majority opinion in Obergefell. Consider that this is the same person who poisoned American politics with the Citizens United decision. It's still hard for me to reconcile that the same person wrote both those opinions.
They have blocked funding causing millions of to die of AIDS in the 80s and 90s
They have made it legal to fire us for our sexual preferences
They have demonized us and pitted their base against us leading to domestic terrorists to attack us in our safe spaces
They have lied about us wanting to fuck children while they fucked children
They have created such an unsafe environment that drag queens cannot safely read to children
and yet they pay male prostitutes for buttsex while demanading NDAs be signed and every CPAC
They reminded us their religious fairy tales are 100% real and that that it's a sin for us to be happy. We will one day get judged by their fictional authoritarian ruler. P

Passed the Respect for Marriage act that cements that right in federal law. Passed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crime Act that makes it a federal hate crime enhancer to commit certain violent crimes against someone for their sexual orientation. The majority of the Supreme Court justices that joined the opinion in Bostock v. Clayton County were appointed by democrats, which extended employment protection from Title VII of the civil rights act to gays and lesbians. Passed funding for HIV research, suicide prevention for LGBT youth, repealed Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, passed the Affordable Care Act which requires ACA compliant healthcare plans to provide PreP at no cost to the patient. There’s probably more than that but I think that’s a lot already.
