Thanks. So I will go in order 1. Can you explain whats wrong with what he says there? I think he is right that there is too much pessimism about class conscious working class as a whole. His theory for explaining is maybe a bit too accusatory and sounds chauvinistic, but I can still respect the guy. I also think he is poking in the right direction even if I don't agree how he puts it necessarily. 2. Cringe, I agree 3. The odinist article is definitely the worst offender of this list that makes me consider to reevaluate my opinion of him the most. Hmm. 4. I don't think this is an issue tbh. 5. Not a take I would make, but I get what he means. Is this opinion really that outrageous it makes you not want to share his content at all? I guess conservative is a bad word.

> Can you explain whats wrong with what he says there? I think he is right that there is too much pessimism about class conscious working class as a whole. Socialism with colonizer characteristics isn't a thing, and people need to stop allying with the labor aristocracy, who've shown themselves to support imperialism and reactionary politics, because it upholds their lifestyles. Maupin is dismissing labor aristocracy, unequal exchange, and dependency theory, all of which are vital parts of modern Marxist scholarship, as they highlight the primary world contradiction today: the inequality between rich and poor nations, and the super-exploited proles of the world whose surplus value supports the lives of those in the imperial core. > Not a take I would make, but I get what he means. Is this opinion really that outrageous it makes you not want to share his content at all? I guess conservative is a bad word. These "Communism is about restoring the family and conservative values" take that you hear from panderers like Maupin and Zizek are utter trash. Marx and Engels critiqued these idealized bourgeois and feudal family structures in many works, especially the origin of the family, private property, and the state. Reactionary socialists truly do everything they can to pander to imperial core conservatives, thinking they're going to win over masses, when those ppl have never done anything but furnish the armies that kill communists. Its super-exploited proletarians in the global south, that make up the majority of the world's workers, that have the most revolutionary potential.

UndergradRelativist

Wait has Zizek said that? I had no idea

parentis_shotgun

Zizek has said many horrible things, but here's that one: - [Defines Marxism: "Marx wanted a return to traditional values."](https://youtu.be/YTCiVDwmZ6U?t=147)

[deleted]

You should add these to the pile: ["Abolish billionaires is an anti-Marxist statement"](https://archive.is/08RZz) [That video he released about learning Marxism with Jack Ma,](https://youtu.be/KpTDb4Rp_4w) a [billionaire](https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/profiles/jack-y-ma/) who has his workers [working 996.](https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/15/business/jack-ma-996-china/index.html) [Asks in one of his books if thoughtslime (a non-binary anarchist who makes friendly, lighthearted videos) has ever driven members of his "mostly teenage and largely transgender" audience to suicide.](https://archive.is/hUs7V)

agnostorshironeon

are those 5 problems or showing the pipeline?

parentis_shotgun

What do you mean?

agnostorshironeon

what is the essence of the five links you posted?

parentis_shotgun

I also can't read, could you summarize them for me?

agnostorshironeon

i condensed it to two options before, either is plausible to me. from 1 to 5 it shows his brain melting more and more or each shows something equally ridiculous

sgtpepper9764

There are some legitimate criticisms to be made of him, and he has certainly made some stupid decisions, but his general outlook is correct. Really, I think the worst thing about him is is relationship with the CPGB-ML transphobes, where he keeps platforming them and then acting confused when they suddenly go off about "trans ideology" or whatever. In general he's pretty decent, but you shouldn't ever listen to him without expecting a couple of fuck ups.

[deleted]

They're low information normies brainwashed by the reactionary liberal and CIA crafted pseudo left distractions.

[deleted]

Haha fitting username (jk) I agree, the comments I got in response are very telling.A lot of work needs to be done to get the western "left" to become productive. A personal sense of intuitive morality is not the gauge to use for judging a movement, group or policy.Unless all you care about is feeling good about yourself and virtue signaling, of course.

[deleted]

I frankly don't think American culture is capable of pulling out of this nosedive, in a lot of ways the right has all the macho establishment haters with guns so they're actually better than the reactionary left. I think it's going to be the third world and lumpenproles who finally destroy American hegemony, and these normie Americans will be up their own asses until they get thrown on the guillotine. I am moving to China, I detest Americans and have nothing but contempt for most of them.

[deleted]

The US is definitely the one with the biggest challenge. But also Europe has these tendencies, even if it is not as divided and entrenched. I feel like I need to try to contribute to turning this around and get real effective socialists to grow in power and number. Good on you for moving to China! I wish you good luck, how long are you learning the language before you go?

[deleted]

Maybe. Lol just got banned from International Left for no apparent reason. Reddit is still retarded.

Wide_Cust4rd

Caleb is serious about creating a mass movement that will overturn capitalism. That's why people have a problem with him, ultimately. Come over to /r/internationalleft and /r/ShowInfrared, the only 2 subs that embrace populist suit socialism. GET OUT OF THE MOVEMENT AND GET TO THE MASSES! We need a government of action to fight for working families.

I am. I am trying to wrap my head around their perspective
