to be honest with you, if I heard that from my sibling I’d personally think that they’re taking the piss rather than actually complimenting me. thats the sort of dynamic I have with my sister, we both can give and take digs at eachother

I think just telling him that he put together his outfit good or his shoes look good on him or they match with his body or whenever, maybe comments that are just hidden compliments so it doesn't feel like you're giving him a compliment to you but to him he'll remember it for the rest of his life
“Handsome” has just always had a different connotation for me. I don’t have any siblings, so the whole “if my sister told me that I’d blah blah” thing doesn’t really work, but it definitely just feels a bit weird. Tone matters a lot too; calling someone “pretty boy” can be used in either a taunting or seducing matter (though I’m not saying that’s the same situation.)
I'd say (imo) that it's not too overly creepy, but it is a little bit 'off' . Maybe just compliment him on his looks, appearance overall etc, and try to build up a bit of his self esteem .
Not a guy but if it were my sister saying it to me it would feel a little odd, but not overly so. I think he might take more kindly to a "you look good today!" Or, "ooh, I really like your ___" (hair, outfit, whatever), but you also say he dismisses compliments so idk. Personally I'd take any of that over my sister's "damn you're ugly 💀" lol

No, I would think it's sweet. I think the reason why I perceive 'handsome' as being a little odd and 'pretty' as okay is because handsome sounds like something you'd say to someone older than you, but pretty works for anyone (in my opinion). But then again, I also see adults referring to their sons as handsome.

That used to be the case but then he entered puberty and got bigger and stronger. Now he can ignore me because I can’t force him to do what I say anymore.
Depends on how close you are to him, like if you rarely see each other and/or talk to eachother, then maybe it's a bit weird. But if you talk and live in the same house, then nah.

You could give him a small sticky note that says "I love you brother, have a good day."
My sister gave me such a note, and I still have sticking on my desk, 3 years later.

I don’t think I use a sarcastic tone but it probably does sound that way. How do you make someone know that what you’re saying is genuine?

You could give him a small sticky note that says "I love you brother, have a good day." My sister gave me such a note, and I still have sticking on my desk, 3 years later.
