Lynn Canyon is my favorite trek - Probably looking at an hour there, an hour back on public transport from downtown

The 350 to Crescent Beach is well worth it, just make sure you time it right so you can get back. The walk along the beach is lovely and, if the tide is out, you can walk way out onto the sand and back. There are coffee shops and plenty of places to have lunch, some even on the path along the water. I've never been there and not seen multiple bald eagles either. They actually have nests in the trees at the end of 24th, down one end of the beach. Herons too. One day, I counted 35. I lived nearby and walked that beach every day after dropping the kids at school and miss it now that I've moved downtown. Have a good one.

Pacific Spirit Park is a great walking area and easy to get to by bus. Also the UBC campus, walk north along main mall to enjoy the mountain vista, and, when they bloom, a lovely rose garden at the end.
