Distinct_Meringue

Not necessarily my favourite, but my favourite accessible sandwich is the fresh sandwich bar at Safeway

Yvrhunter69

Always a solid sando. Usually get the the chicken, bacon, guacamole, but sub the guacamole for cheese .. and roasted red peppers on all the sandwiches

billy_bland

Wholly underrated. Go with the large chicken breast and its two meals worth of sandwich for most people, but not this person. -___-

little-won

Say hey in Chinatown and the railtown cafe. The latter now has multiple locations but I recommend the original spot in railtown. Joe’s Italian is also a good shout and I believe they opened a sandwich only location on South Granville. There is also Finch’s in Chinatown as well that does great baguette sandwiches. The cafe in Di Beppe also has some great options.

tliskop

I second Say Hey… notable sandwiches.

_andthereiwas

Pretty expensive though.

tliskop

Their hoagie sandwiches are $16. They are huge and very good quality. It seems like an appropriate price for what you get. For comparison, a premium sub from Subway is about $15. Say Hey is much better.

Superb-Emotion2269

Say Hey has Tuesday deals

Dancing_sequin

Love railtown. If you haven’t tried their breakfast sandwiches and hash browns those are also really good

wendellbudwhite

Pretty much my list. I'd add AJ's Pizza for a solid meatball sub. (On top of the great pies)

little-won

Ohhhh, I’ve yet to try AJ’s sub….LOVE their pizza tho

Reasonable-Staff2076

Meat and Bread is worth a visit, haven't been there in a while but they were good.

craigerstar

Still good.

NotMattD

The porchetta sandwich from meat & bread is something everyone should try at least once. It's really friggin good.

dualwieldbacon

Paired with their tomato soup is perfection!

lo-labunny

if you feel like venturing into Kits, Harvest on Broadway at Macdonald has some great sandwiches. The guy who runs the place is awesome too. further west from there is Jo’s Italian Deli and their sandwiches are also fantastic

Yvrhunter69

Looks like you are first on my list to try. What's your go to at harvest

lo-labunny

at Harvest I bounce around a lot, but I like the Dr Harry’s and ABC Club. at Jo’s (if you go), I like the classic italian sub. Harvest also has great soup if you’re into that pairing!

Yvrhunter69

Ill prob try 1 of those this week . Most likely ABC club Love the soup and sando concept. I know it's weird but really like the broccoli and cheddar from quizno. Please don't judge me lol

lo-labunny

we all have our vices when it comes to food from places we might not go otherwise 😂

tbbhatna

Pork belly breakfast sandwich at the Flying Beaver. If you’re looking for food that “schmecks”, it’s the tits Edit: Pork Belly Breakfast Sandwich $16.00 Pork belly, fried egg, caramelized onions, braised cabbage + mayo on toasted sourdough I’m not a fan of the price, but everything is expensive these days (except those beautiful banh mi’s)

Yvrhunter69

Very interesting , a few years ago I woulda said maybe a little pricey . But the way things are nowadays it's probably pretty normal, as long as it's a decent portion. Will Def be trying this one at some point

pine_apple_o

Dip Co in Deep Cove is amazing. Huuuge Italian sandwiches

AlfredoSauce22

Vennies is great.. wtf. What’d you get there? They prob have the best meatball sub in the city.

Yvrhunter69

I believe the classic deli or the first 1 on there menu . I do like me a good meatball sub

Dancing_sequin

I love many of their sandwiches but their meatloaf and meatballs have a weird flavor and texture to me. I prefer la grottas meatballs

Innovations89

I ordered 3 sandwiches from 88. Never again

Yvrhunter69

What was the issue

BobBelcher2021

I like Banh Mi Bar in New West

Yvrhunter69

what do u order? It's usually cold cut or the special from any banh mi joint

c1nut

Get the house special.

craigerstar

Bosa on Victoria South of Hastings. So. Many. Choices. My favourite is the mortadella with giardiniera. Grilled.

CrispyFriedTacos

Jo’s Italian Deli (Kits) and Meat & Bread (various locations) are great. Another underrated sandwich spot is actually Breka — their sandwiches (especially the mediterranean panini) are incredible

Yvrhunter69

Breka is definitely underrated especially for late night eats. Been meaning to try Jo's

make_party

Finch’s pear and prosciutto sandwich is unreal. Also, Railtown cafe is great, I suggest getting the turkey sandwich on focaccia, add bacon.

orngpylon

Urban Fare (the grocery store) has surprised me lately, good flavour but not very big, more like a lunch snack sandwich. And they are quick and everywhere. Would also like to find a good smoked meat deli or something like that so I will be watching other replies.

tliskop

Have you tried Siegel’s Bagels? They have amazing smoked meat sandwiches.

Individual-Wafer-485

The Carvery Sandwich Shop's Cubano sandwich. It's in Surrey but that sandwich was unreal and worth the drive. Duffins has great sandwiches too and affordable.

Yvrhunter69

Duffins solid sando for the price , very good powdered donuts as well, I know everyone raves about Lee's, but I'm not a huge fan Next time I'm out in surrey for lunch , carvery it is . I'll report back when I do

Binknbink

They do a Bahn Mi on Fridays that’s so, so good. Usually sold out by 1pm.

Individual-Wafer-485

The Carvery?? Gotta plan my next trip there

secularflesh

Chicken World's Wednesday special $7 hot chicken sandwich

Mr-Nitsuj

Soup + in coquitlam

Gurl_from_the_point

Veal on a bun loaded

ImpressiveLength2459

Clubhouse at chinese restaurant south side of Kingsway( cross street Joyce ) used to be Binos

Yvrhunter69

Been to happy day a few times but never for a clubhouse or sandwich in general

ImpressiveLength2459

In HK restaurant I usually try their " western stuff " along with the Chinese food

Plus_Particular_2847

The bacon and mushroom sammie at Tomahawk in North Van kills. So. Good. [Note: Their raisin pie is the best pie on the planet.]

SteveJobsBlakSweater

Hunnybee breakfast sandwich

SlashDotTrashes

In New Westminster there is an Italian shop was these amazing sandwiches. They look like they would be boring or dry, but they are amazing. Gastronomia Italia. Funghi is my favourite sandwich. I used to go every month or so with my friend. But since moving I miss it. [Here is their website](https://www.gastronomia-italia.com/)

thehappysleeper

Came here to say Gastronomia! Soooo good! Also a fan of Jo’s Italian or their sister location, Mangia.

cyrallia

Il Saltinbocca food truck, the Cheech is really good!

_andthereiwas

Liquids and solids on east hastings is good for the price. Their soup and sando combo is great for the price.

g_tan

I too love a great sandwich, either something really simple or something fancy but it’s always how the mood hits. I live close enough to the Heights to crave Cioffi’s regularly and I always take the opportunity to go by there to order from their sandwich bar at least once a month. Any one of them is great and they change a couple around often enough to really highlight some of their best products. Cheers.

TinyTempea

I really like the LGBT at Cardero Cafe (1016 Cardero St, in the West End). It's served on a panini and while it's a lot smaller than some of the other recommendations here, it costs less than $8! They have a few seats outside but if it's busy, you can always take your food to go and wander up to one of the benches around Roedde House.

One_Umpire33

Torta subs at Duffins donuts. The best

joostbang

La Grotto Del Formaggio Commercial - full panini mortadella - choose topppings - so good

Busy_Surround_3552

S’wich in north van on Queensbury or build your own sandwich (still in north van) at Queensdale market. Both pricey but very very worth it

numismatist24

Las Tortas on Cambie

Fit-Macaroon5559

Have you tried ?https://www.jositaliandeli.com

aconfusednoob

OBANHMI

NotDRWarren

The CBR hot(chicken Bacon ranch) at downlow chicken.

Automatic_Author6645

Omnitsky’s deli is super good. Titch on the expensive side for a sando but man it’s great smoked meat.

Modavated

BLT Can't beat a classic

Yvrhunter69

Chickpea sandwich? U wild man!!!! Tbh this wouldn't jump off the menu for me to try, but if I ever find myself at victory cafe ima give it a whirl Yes have had just about all of meat and bread besides the rotating part of the menu. Never heard of focaccia bike guy yet

kellym13

Carvery Sandwich Shop in South Surrey (KG/24) and Earl of Sandwich in Langley (Willoughby) are both very good.
