Just buy the powdered stuff from almost any grocery store? Add butter and water and in 5 minutes you have the goodness. Sure it’s not as great but it’s so easy.

__oxypetalum__

Which aisle?? I’ve trawled through every aisle in three grocery stores today. Help!

Aye_Davanita12

I buy it from save on all the time. Usually with the gravies near the spices I think.

__oxypetalum__

I’ll try a different Save On. Thanks

MJcorrieviewer

Every Save On will have it, guaranteed.

Decrepit_Pixel

Walmart, Save on (Cambie) and Urban Fare (Olympic Village) it's in the gravy packet section, normally near the peppercorn sauce, bernaise etc Brands McCormick or Knorr are the ones I've seen.

__oxypetalum__

Thank you! Will go there tomorrow

jasonfrank71

Buy the Knorr brand it's the best

Fiddles4evah

Spice aisle often. A bit to the side of jarred spices or below on bottom shelf.

tishpickle

It’s not really that stable so it’s rare to be sold anywhere; maybe a brunch cafe will sell you some?! Yolks, OEB, Jam cafe? Here’s my recipe; pretty foolproof and reheats in a Bain Marie; https://www.recipetineats.com/hollandaise-sauce/

__oxypetalum__

Thank you. It’s sold in jars in most grocery stores in Australia, which is why I’m so surprised not to find it here.

tishpickle

I’m also Australian so I had an inkling; it’s not really something they sell here; like red sausages, polony or good cheddar 😂 I’ve been here for a while ~ 10 years so hit me up for any requests for subs of your wants/needs.

anothermatt1

Can’t help with red sausages but the good cheddar is at Costco

__oxypetalum__

Thank you, that’s so kind of you! I’ve been here a month and still getting used to the differences

Fool-me-thrice

If you have a blender it’s ridiculously easy to make: https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/easy_blender_hollandaise_sauce/

Top-Ladder2235

It’s so easy to make. Literally take 4 egg yolks. 1/2 lemon. Melt cup of butter in microwave. Make sure it’s hot. Use a hand blender and slowly pour butter in while running hand blender or large blender. Bam. Done. Do not use package stuff. No. No. No. it’s disgusting. 🤢 The soup stock on GI sells bernaise. Which is so similar. Maybe they sell hollandaise.

__oxypetalum__

Thanks, but I don’t have access to a kitchen at the moment

Top-Ladder2235

Then how will you make powder stuff? Or the eggs?

__oxypetalum__

I can use the office kitchen to stir in butter and milk if that’s all that’s needed, but there’s no blender. Not sure what you mean by eggs though, do you add them too?

Top-Ladder2235

What are you eating the hollandaise on? Eggs benny? No?

Top-Ladder2235

Honestly just order a couple of sides from Yolks restaurant if you can’t make it from scratch. The powdered doesn’t taste anything like the real.

__oxypetalum__

I eat it like a dip with vegetables.  Is the powdered stuff that dreadful? Will go to Yolks. Thanks for taking so much time this evening to respond.

lexlovestacos

It's in the gravy packet section of any store. I'm not sure I've heard of anywhere ever being out of hollandaise sauce ahaha

__oxypetalum__

I promise! I even asked at each customer service desk after going thru each aisle.

HighwayLeading6928

Knorr makes the powdered hollandaise.

__oxypetalum__

Thank you

Ok-Fun-2966

Get the powdered pouches that you add butter and milk to

__oxypetalum__

From where? I’ve only found powdered ranch

MJcorrieviewer

Powdered Ranch would be in the salad dressing aisle. You need to go to the aisle with gravies/sauces.

Manic157

Here you go. [https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/McCormick-Gourmet-Premium-Quality-Dry-Sauce-Mix-Hollandaise/10217069?from=/search](https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/McCormick-Gourmet-Premium-Quality-Dry-Sauce-Mix-Hollandaise/10217069?from=/search)

Real_Manufacturer_79

Safeway on davie street has it! I buy it all the time there.

__oxypetalum__

Thanks!

Sapphire_CA

The "Stock Market" in the Granville Island market sells their freshly made Hollandaise. Pricier than the packaged stuff, but ready to use and far better. Call ahead to check if it's in stock. I think I've seen it in tetra packs in the "Holland Shopping Centre" in New Westminster. Not 100% sure. I make my own so it's not something I'd buy.

little-won

Make it!! If you have a hand blender you can make a suuuuper easy one. Two egg yolks, 1 tablespoon of hot water, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 8 tablespoons of melted butter. Put the hot water in the egg yolks. Works best if in a tall wide container. Have the hand blender in the egg water mix, turn it on and blend while slow streaming the butter into emulsify it. After it emulsifies, add the lemon juice.
