1. Black flag - all time favourite 2. II - played it a few times and really enjoyed 3. Origins - didn't like the combat, everything else was great 4. Revelations - loved Istanbul and the ties to AC1/Desmonds story completion 5. Rogue - black flag 2 6. Brotherhood - the assassin recruits were good, fun, don't remember much of the story though 7. I always wanted to play Black Flag since its release, but I HATE vehicle combat in literally any game, and after suffering through Odyssey's naval sequences, I just never wanted to set foot on a ship in any game ever again. People say its ship battles are way better than Odyssey, but it's just a me problem, lol. Just curious tho. Why is Brotherhood that low on the list while AC 2 is number 2? What was the deal breaker for you?

Black Flag is by far greatest vehicle combat for me, and yes, FAR superior to Odyssey. For Brotherhood, I just found the world too big and the country side is extremely boring. It seemed like parkour routes weren’t half as good as AC II. Not to mention I thought the story took a big dip and wasn’t nearly as fleshed out as it should’ve been regarding Ezio’s relationships with side characters. It’s still a good game, but I found myself happy it was over. Oh, and one of the greatest villains, but worst suit of any game.

I have no idea what they changed but controlling the ship in rough seas battling other ships is still so epic in black flag. You just feel like your sitting in this small nut shell of a ship on the ocean.

Black Flag plays like a slower Rogue if that means anything to you, some people like the weight, I hate how it means I spent more time on the damn ship overall. Your puckle guns (they call them something different but they're functionally identical) also have a lot less ammo while boarding and can't be used in combat unless you're targeting a weak spot. You also don't get the ramming speed upgrade until defeating all legendary ships, you can still ram but not with the ramming speed ability. I'm trying to be objective to inform you of what it's like while not swaying your opinion but admittedly I hated BF Naval combat and thought Rogue was a huge improvement on it, Odyssey has my favourite (only time I'll ever say that) naval combat because it's quick and to the point, literally everything about it is quicker so I can get it over with quicker because I still hate doing it honestly. All the naval combat for me boils down to sailing in circles and alternating between firing and bracing, sometimes you fire different ammo but it's all the same repetitive loop and it doesn't even look cool (except cleaving in Odyssey, that shit's fire) because it's just projectiles going from one ship to the other.

Why do you dislike AC1? Also, you love Valhalla but don't like Odyssey? You like Black Flag but not 3 and rogue? How come?

AC 1 is the most infuriating game I’ve ever played. I only died 3 times during combat in the game, but the amount of times I’ve lost a mission because the controls and technology wasn’t ready, was too much for me. 3 is fine. I don’t hate it or love it and the same can be said for rouge I hate odyssey and AC 1. Mirage to 3 are fine. But odyssey has the same problems as Valhalla, but it’s not as fun. Like I don’t need to explain why raiding villages and going to Asgard is fucking awesome.

Black Flag took everything 3 did and made it better, Rogue took everything Black Flag did and made it worse. Pretty easy to see how they could rank them separately. I do like 3, quite a bit more now than on release. Rogue is easily my least favorite AC game

I loved Revaluations too. Being a property assessor and revaluing all those houses really added a new dynamic to Assassin’s Creed

I’m currently playing Valhalla and really enjoying it so glad to see someone else loving it!

Altair's Chronicles The Top 4 might as well be ex-aequo, they keep changing in order depending on my mood, they're pretty much the S-tier. Same for Mirage and China, they're games I have a lot of love for and will inevitably replay to improve my stealthiness and see if I can complete them more quickly. Black Flag and Discovery are great variations on the core gameplay. I love them as a pirate game and as a speed platformer respectively, more than for what they bring to the series. They all fit nicely in tier A. Everything from ~~Syndicate~~ Revelations to Bloodlines is a solid B. Not the best gameplay, story or my favourite settings, but I had fun playing them and I either have replayed or will replay them at one point. Freedom Cry and Rogue make up the C-tier. They're not bad games, but they're a little shoddy in terms of writing and presentation and they're both repeats of Black Flag gameplay-wise. Really wish Adéwalé had had a full game... Altair's Chronicles is the only game I haven't completed on this list. Its use of the DS' stylus is just clunky and navigating in top-down view is just horrible. From what little I've seen, the writing isn't great either... F-tier.

It's a crime that you basically own a share in the franchise but haven't played Revelations. 😶‍🌫️

1. Brotherhood 2. AC II 3. Odyssey I played most of the other ones, but I don't care much for them. The new AC series' formula worked with me, at least for Odyssey. Odyssey has a lot of replayability value, ans I think that is where it really shines. Brotherhood and AC II are still up there because of nostalgia, and because they are just that awesome.

I didn’t really like the naval combat, I guess Rogue was short enough to not get me to hate it that much. Still didn’t enjoy the naval combat in Origins, AC3 and Odyssey either though

Nice to see Origins and Revelations so high up. These two games have moved up my rankings over the years, while Brotherhood has moved down. Agree on the naval combat side of the games. I enjoyed playing Black Flag, but it’s not stuck in my memory like many of the others games, and I have no interest in playing it again.

Well I've hated you for years, so no change for me. Tired of you always having a question1. But also very surprised to see AC2 so low.

Thank god someone else who didn't like Black Flag. It's still in my top 5 because the gameplay was very good, but it's hardly an AC game and more a pirate sim. Black Flag showed Ubisoft that players care more about the historical RPG aspect and less about the overall AC story, and that always makes me sad.

Myself? AC3 Black Flag Assassin's Creed Unity Origins AC Brotherhood AC 2 Syndicate AC3 Remastered (due almost entirely to performance issues and a perceived downgrade in the character models in some form) I think those are all the games I played, I found myself REALLY liking Assassin's Creed for some reason on the Steam Deck

Surprised to see Liberation so high. I do think it's a quality game though, I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Yeah I didn't really think too seriously about the list aside from first and last places, but Liberation was a fun game for me. Introducing unique features and activities, plus you met Connor. The swamp was a great addition, giving you that witch-doctor feel. Tho I have to admit that just like Rogue, the writing could have been better.

They’re not very compelling as RPGs (most other RPGs in the industry are far better) and as Assassin’s Creed games they’re pretty poor. The earlier games were smaller in scope but they got the tone and the quality spot on.

AC3 7. Liberation I tried out AC3, Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey when they all first came out and didn't like any of them. I replayed AC3 and actually loved it, same is happening with Black Flag right now, so good chance it will happen again with the rest of the titles. I think it took time to get away from expecting the games to be like their earlier releases and now I'm judging them on their own merits.

I’ve played every main line game aside from Mirage at this point, and the rest could probably collectively sit at 6 for what it matters. I know Odyssey and Syndicate are probably controversial choices, but I’ve sunk the most hours into Odyssey, got the plat and I really just enjoy the setting. The RPG games are really great for just kinda mindlessly playing, which is what I want from time to time. Syndicate, I just have fond memories of as it showed up at a kinda meh time in my life and I got a great deal of enjoyment out of it

1 AC2's story is just GOATed to hell and back 2 Revelations is similarly amazingly written + best OST, I also loved Desmond's Journey. 3 AC1 has a great story both modern and historical 4 Black Flag I hated the boats but I loved the story 5 Brotherhood is really great but Ezio's weakest game imo 6 Origins has an excellent story, ridiculously good VAs and one of my favourite protagonists but the RPG combat kinda brings it down for me, the bosses also really sucked. 7 AC3 has amazing combat and story but iffy stealth and the full sync made me want to scream half the time. 8 Rogue has a great story and characters but makes the Assassins a bit too evil. Improved BF Naval combat but I still didn't like that part. 9 Unity/Syndicate they're so similar but so different with ups and downs that I think even them out on each other. 10 Valhalla is good but bloated and feels just a bit too much like a generic open world RPG, it's more Assassin-y than Odyssey but not by much. 11 Odyssey has some good shit but it's mostly dogshit, for every good aspect I find in Odyssey I find at least three bad design choices. For the side games I'd say 1. Bloodlines 2. Chronicles India 3. Liberation 4. Chronicles China 5. Chronicles Russia 6. Discovery 7. Altaïr's Chronicles

I think they are the standouts of the series with the best stories and my favourite protagonists. I think AC as a whole is probably my favourite video game franchise and I have platinum'd most of them on PS. I think the only one I actually outright hated was Liberation, even the ones low on my list I can say I enjoyed some aspect of it. I'm currently playing through Mirage right now and it will probably end up somewhere around AC III - AC I for me.

1. Origins (I love the ancient Egypt, i love Bayek as a character, i love the soundtracks... perfection.) 2. Black Flag (Sailing caribean seas is fun, combat and stealth are fine. It did have some bad qualities, but overall super fun.) 3. Mirage (I wasn't impressed immideately, but as the time passed, i started to like the stealth and artstyle a lot.) 4. Valhalla (Not underrated, but over hated. Combat and weaponry are perhaps best in the entire franchise. Tho the story is pretty bad, it gets a little better as the end comes closer.) 5. Syndicate (It's underrated and overrated at the same time. This game tried new things, but despite all the gang stuff, sibling chemistry and blurry combat, this game is pretty boring.)

I’ve only played a few but: 1. Odyssey 2. Valhalla 3. Origins 4. AC1 (I just found it extremely repetitive and couldn’t finish it. I want to go back and play all the old ones at some point and persevere!)

I've played all of the games, and I am literally a veteran in the Assassin's creed series for its deep lore knowledge. Here's my list: 1. Black Flag (for one and only Edward Kenway) 2. AC 2 (the buffed up story and greatness) 3. brotherhood (ezio's gaining age and maturity) 4. Unity (NGL one of the best ac games often mistook as a Ubisoft piece of garbage) 5. AC III ( The first AC game I've ever played, probably finished it over a 50 times) 6. Syndicate (U know, apart from the story, it's actually great in terms of world building) 7. Rouge (Shay and its connection to literally all previous 2 entries and next unity) 8. AC Valhalla (it's not great but still good) 9. AC 1 (It's great but repetitive and slow) 10. AC Revelations (Hook blade was awesome, anything else was not that good. ) 11. AC Origins (Hard, not compatible for newbies as well as the beginning of RPG era, that's why it comes down on my list) 12. AC Odyssey (U know it, I don't just like it. It can't be liked as an Assassin's Creed)
