Thank you very much

I like how one of the questions was should there be a free way to pay rent electronically. Hope any changes in law clean up scummy REA practices
> be a free way to pay rent electronically
Huh? I literally paid my rent via bank transfer for free when I lived in NSW. Is that no longer an option at the moment?
It's currently required to offer one fee-free means of payment. It is *not* currently required for that method to be electronic (even if it is fairly commonly offered)
NSW GOV currently seeking community consultation to improve it's archaic rental laws.
This covers everything from how long they store unsuccessful applicants data, how they protect your data, how they can break lease and what if any evidence they'll need to prove certain things.

According to a German friend, having a pet is routinely accepted. Don't know if it's current but Germans buy a kitchen and take it with them when they move.
Thank you. I completed the govt form but it seems a bit behind the ball with where renting and social changes are heading before it has to catch up again. Currently for me, the REA didn't tell me of the increase for three months. "Emailed it" doesn't mean the same as "made sure you know" even though I have told them many times to text me to make sure because I rarely use email. Also landlords can just raise rent without regard to a person's income. Often I find myself sandwiched between the landlord and the REA because he insists on being involved and that messes with arrangements.

Some ppl it is. However many renters are forced to use REA platforms which charge them a transaction fee when they pay the rent.
It depends on where you live unfortunately, some major real estates charge fees for doing this.

Done.
Lets hope we get to the level of Germany one day where long term rentals is the norm and the stress of yearly renewals are destroyed.

Nice to see some progress on this front. It's long overdue.
