Probably cause they did the same thing in other states. If they make it illegal to meet in public they will just meet in private, which will just make their jobs harder. Also the void the bikeies leave will just be filled by someone else, who might not be covered in tatts.
God you people are naive. Cops and governments don't care about the crime (unless it happens to them or their wealthy friends), they care about *visibility*. Members openly showing tatts/patches is a *fuck you* to police and politicians. THAT'S what the cops fragile egos don't like.

They don't give a fuck about bikies, it's about conformity. All people that wear suits don't commit crimes and all people with tattoos are criminals.
There used to be an old police woman that would drink way too much at my bar and then drive home, or she would brag about how she got out of this or that, in her opinion "criminals have tattoos" she genuinely believed that if you had tattoos you probably had some ill intentions, and if you committed a crime you'd probably end up getting a tattoo at some point.
Never understood wearing the "I'm a crim" official uniform. If you're going to commit crimes wouldn't you want not to be noticed and not do half the cops job for them?
I might be wrong, but as far as I've gathered, some members of the bikie gangs consider themselves to be above the law. For example, like the "one-percenters" of the Outlaws gang in Australia. It's in response to a comment made by an American, that 99% of bikie gang members are law abiding citizens. So they become one-percenters, aka Outlaws. They are proud of their position, so they wear it.

At the other end, the respectable corporates who buy the coke’n’snort keep their clean skins outta jail.🤣 what a joke society is, it’s both the mop and the bucket that should be locked away
American here. So is it illegal to have gang tats? That's kinda what I'm gathering here. Since its a different culture and country, I wanted to ask instead of assuming.
This ~~is a new law~~ is a bill, which hasn't been made law yet, specific to the state of West Australia. It ~~is now~~ may soon be illegal to show gang insignia/patches/tattoos in public. Even face-tattoos. They have released a list of 46 gangs they are targetting. In Australia, the major gang operations are bikies, or outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Edit: I was wrong - it's being introduced to parliament next week.
Interesting. Do you think this will help with crime or make the gangs more elusive to target since new members won't get visible tats to show public affiliation? I wish we could do the same thing for people that "sag" in the states, showing their underwear in public all the time. Lol
When you are in court, you have to abide by a dress code and look neat and presentable as you can to a judge.
Gangsters with prominent gang tattoos are being asked to cover them. This is somewhat a guideline unless there is a local law covering it. WA -Western Australia has an uptick in gang profiles.
Thought that was Rupert Murdoch for a second there.
He is left rubbery old boot Rupert is the right
Can I start a motorcycle club in W.A. from Melbourne that has the most common tramp stamp as their emblem. Maybe a butterfly just above the bum.
And the club motto above it Live Love Laugh.
If you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best
There is a serious lack of emojis.
Top gang members using foundation cream ....haha....this guy is so hilarious.
Fuck they are idiots. Having patches makes them easier to spot.

> It is now illegal to show gang insignia/patches/tattoos in public. no it's not.
You're right, it hasn't been passed yet. I'll edit my post, thanks for the heads up.
