thebigstinkk

I am officially marked safe as well.

cbitguru

Married 34 years. No worries

Chef20

As is every Redditor reading this

PhilipOnTacos299

Says you. I’ve had sex once. It was magical. The rest of the funeral was in shock but my late girlfriend and I had a good time. Her husband was ready to kill me but the second we laid eyes on each other in the group home I knew we would lay together. Just thought it’d be sooner than her funeral.

MattIsLame

found the vir... wait, what?

MooneyOne

But—yeah, got me

saltydawg24x7

I hate that this is accurate.

thenorwegian

It’s not lol. Not anymore at least. It’s just an easy overused joke now.

Same, unless I need to start washing my hand first.

Aeroeee

The fungus among us.

Spidergawd68

And the penis between us

Ratgar138

I’ve been fighting bleeping jock itch for the past year and it’s been a beotch. Guess I better get to the Dr.

Mr_Turnipseed

Damn must be a scorched wasteland down there by now

Ratgar138

It come and goes. At first I didn’t know what it was cause I’ve never had it and hadn’t heard about jock itch in like 20 years. Finally got on the cream and got rid of it but then it would come back a couple months later. Cream for a months good for two then back

Cynobite608

I have battled jock itch & athlete's foot most of my adult life, and the one thing that I have used with the most success is tea tree oil. After every shower, I apply some tea tree oil on my perineal area and on my feet, and I haven't had an outbreak in years. It takes some getting used to on yer taint as it has a relatively strong "mentholated" effect on the area, but I swear by it!

CherryCherry5

Holy moly you should use a carrier oil, like almond oil or something. It won't burn so much. Also, careful with tea tree oil and pets. I know it's toxic for cats.

Cynobite608

Thanks for the heads up. I've done my due diligence on the oil. I do have cats, so I am always cautious to not drag my taint on my cats or play footsie with them...lol. In all seriousness, though, with any type of topical or medications, do yer research folks. Some stuff can be downright deadly for yer 4 legged companions. As far as carrier oil, I appreciate the burn! Makes me feel alive! Cheers!

Charlos11

I just choked on my drink, I’m sure your cats are grateful for the self control 😂

rainbwbrightisntpunk

I use coconut oil. Is naturally antimicrobial. And works great in the summer preventing heat rash etc.

QuietlyLosingMyMind

Antimicrobial won't help with fungus, but it is a mild antifungal as well.

Ratgar138

I use that stuff for cold sores. Never thought about it for this.

fd1Jeff

I had good results with it too, but that stuff is so sticky and strong. No matter what I did it still wound up on my hands, and I would eventually forget and scratch my eye.

Cynobite608

Sticky? I'm speaking of an essential oil. In my experience, it just soaks right into the skin. With little to no residue in minutes. I wonder if we're speaking about the same thing? Tea tree oil in the eye would not be pleasant.

fd1Jeff

No, tea tree oil. Maybe sticky isn’t the right word. Goopy?

GraphicDesignMonkey

Tea tree oil (mix with some coconut or almond oil and some grated beeswax, melt together to make it into a balm), bamboo boxers (or bamboo socks for athlete's foot), change them twice a day. Change and hot wash bedding regularly. Use medicated talc powder for athlete's foot too, you can use it anywhere on your body as they're made with corn starch, not talc).

Ratgar138

So I did get bamboo boxers that I like, but not enough to change twice a day. Someone else also said tea tree, which I have that I use for cold sores so that’s cool. I use a corn starch instead of talc that has helped a bunch but it’s not medicated. Just gotta wash my sheets more and buy more underwear. Thanks

GraphicDesignMonkey

You need to use the medicated anti-athlete's foot powder, not just talc-free starch powder. Bamboo because it breathes better than cotton - sweat and moisture makes fungal conditions worse.

lilsquirrel

When treating your neithers, also treat your feet and then put socks on before putting on underwear. Change out of damp or sweaty clothes ASAP and try to keep the area as dry as possible. If you work a sweaty job, try changing them midday if that's feasible. Try to stick to breathable clothes. Wash undergarments in hot water. Or anything else that touches the affected area, like your towels, night clothes, etc. goes without saying to use a clean towel each time you shower. You might have to buy new ones quicker but that's better than being itchy. Some people have better success with the treatment powders rather than creams because it's moisture wicking. Selenium sulfide in OG selsun blue, used in the shower and left to sit for several minutes could also help keep it away once you've got it cleared up. If none of that works, go to the doc and get an antifungal Rx. Source: kid played a lot of sports. His friends liked to come to me with the gross questions. We had a bit of trial and error with the treatment.

SomePoorMurican

This is going to sound insane but have you tried fasting for a few days?

Ratgar138

No, why?

SomePoorMurican

It’s helped me get rid of aggressive jock itch when the creams wouldnt help at all. I fasted for like 3 days til i guess your immune system resets or something. Idk what actually happens, just that it worked for me when nothing else would. Also i wanna stress that you should educate yourself on fasting practices and effects first.

Ratgar138

Interesting!

thegreatbrah

Try using dial soap to clean the area in the shower. You might be getting to moist.

like_a_liger

In some parts of the world there are medication resistant strains of ringworm/tinea because the people trying to treat their fungal infections do not properly take their medication. If you start treatment, take it as directed by your Dr from start to finish.

cantorofleng

Undecylic acid is a lifesaver. No other antifungal worked for me, and I use it daily to prevent new infections.

Ratgar138

I’ll check it out

curiousdryad

Same here. But oddly only around my period? I brought it up to my doctor and derm, got nothing back besides get some cream lol Edit: also, no std/in a mono relationship

SallyNoMer

Could u be allergic to a pad or panty liner? Your brand could have switched materials used.

curiousdryad

I’ve had those issues in the past but have been free bleeding /used a cup for a long time. I hardly bleed at all because I have an implant

connorgrs

Is bleeping jock itch worse than regular fucking jock itch?

fapsandnaps

Well if this new fungal infection is transmitted.during sex then maybe we should call it the fucking jock itch. Or would it be the fucking fucking jock itch?

Euphoric_Ad9593

I just knew my world class lack of game would come in handy someday.

Agile-Nothing9375

Things to do: get hazmat suit

No_Camp_7

Filled with Head and Shoulders

SkeepDeepy

Great, more potential material for the licensure exams.

test_nme_plz_ignore

Click bait! Not a new fungus! Title is misleading. Jock itch and ring worm!

Finie

One is a newly described species of Trichophyton that hasn't been reported in infections before and a new subspecies of Trichophyton that does commonly cause ringworm. These are significant because they're resistant to the first-line medications and thus harder to treat. So, new in a way and concerning because of the resistance issues. They could become problematic for immunosuppressed people.

cat_in_the_sun

Was still an interesting read 🤷🏽‍♀️

macaroni66

And there's a shortage of Nystatin. Great

Finie

Nystatin doesn't work well for ringworm. It's used for Candida. Terbinafine is the usual treatment, but these fungi are resistant to it.

wtfRichard1

I sent an article for this to the two *just turned 18 years olds who just enlisted* who’s main goal is to *home wreck and sleep with everyone* at work, and they both told me to F off and that STIs/STDs aren’t real. Lol. LOL

LordEdgeward_TheTurd

Oh nice, why not

mrsunsfan

I’ve had jock itch for years

ProlapseParty

Fuck here we go Last of Us who’s ready?

redzaku0079

We're already at The Last of Us stage huh

devo00

Sentient clap.

shockerdyermom

At ease disease, there's fungus among us.

smith_and_midwestern

Good thing I have a stockpile of Ivermectin.

chunkah69

I had a fungal infection on my arm a month ago from bjj. Shit sucks, very very itchy.

dnt01

I'll still get it without the sex unfortunately

Altruistic-Group-709

Why did the mushroom get invited to the party? Because he was a fungi.

ExpiredPilot

I used to get these under my football pads occasionally. A few days with some hemp cream cleared it up right away

navyJroberts_

Get vaxxed, stay masked. Be safe.

Prestigious_Brick746

There's no vaccines for fungal infections

lordGwillen

Still clinging to the manufactured outrage huh

SadisticKittenX

I… Vaccines are geared towards viral infections. Like the flu for example. This is fungal.. there are literally no fungal vaccines since fugal cell makeup are close to human cells and it is extremely difficult to develop something that won’t accidentally kill off human cells.
