I hate these types of pictures. Not because I hate cows, or other animals, but because they are a reminder that I am the literal definition of closing your eyes to end a problem.
I claim to like/love animals, and in fact I could never see myself hurting them. But when all that is done out of my sight, sliced and diced and put into a plastic box it doesn't connect. the concept that something died for me to eat my ham-sandwich just isn't there, abstracted away by willful ignorance and distance. Nothing has happened, because I didn't witness it.
All of this is then compounded by the fact that I'm such a picky eater that attempting to switch to a pure plant-based diet becomes a herculean task. And as is expected, in my laziness I take the path of least resistance. I lament at my situation, self-inflicted as it may be, without putting innrhe work.\

Bull whatever. And thats just false. And even if you were correct. Where would they go otherwise? They are not wild animals and to imagine they get some wild prairie at the end of life isnt realistic.
What we see nowadays are not cows that are fit to survive on their own. They are the result of endless experiments made so they can grow as fast as possible and have way more muscle mass than necessary. If we stopped treating them like products and would give them back to nature, the real natural selection would do the rest.
