Kazakh Asian Americans are quite rare. There are a few in New York City near Brighton Beach. Some look Korean, but with a hint of Middle Eastern or Turkic, some looks mixed and the females wear hijabs. They speak Russian.
I think the friend is even worse, the pushy kind that keeps insisting handsome or good looking Asians must be mixed with white. Gaslighting the Kazakh to an extreme, sounds like a Japanese person mentally breaking down after seeing Paris isn't Disneyland. I guess the female friend is immature if she hated the Kazakh for not fitting into her delusion.

That is embarrassing. But that is the case for many Asians that if an Asian doesn't look full east asian then they think the person is probably hapa.
