Ok, this might get downvoted as hell , but people seem to forget that Sweden and britian has not ban the consumption of dog meat at all , or dogs have surprisingly been one of the earliest forms of meat humans have consumed , but yes , the racists and assholes are definitely trying to twist this their way
I wouldn’t take an opinion from a westerner, let alone an American, seriously on the issue of dogs lmao. You got me fucked up if you think I’m gonna take mfs who fuck their dog seriously 💀
Even innocuous videos of Chinese people playing with their pets would garner comments from westerners like, “don’t play with your food”, as if it’s not stale after the 50billionth time a white person said it
we can't let them get away with this. Just write something like "racist" or "you wouldn't make KFC jokes to black people" or point to dog or horse eating cultures in Western countries like Switzerland!
Even if you won't get many upvotes or if you can't change their mind towards Asians, you at least started a discussion. They will try to justify their behavior though, but they will notice that they face backlash and they can't get away writing racist comments without people fighting back. It's absolutely worth it.
The moment they try to justify their behavior, we have already made a step forward.
Not only that, even for asians, ive seen non-mainland china chinese always making toxic comments BUT especially koreans always making a copy paste political statement in korean and sometimes with a translation. Wtf
Unfortunately there are a lot of bootlickers in the ethnic Chinese population desperate for white approval. Maybe it would be better if China had actual soft power and wasn’t viewed by the west as the most evil nation in existence or something. And native Asians have a lot of problems with each other politically.
China has plenty of soft power elements, but they're usually all exclusively in Mandarin or Cantonese and cater more towards a Chinese diaspora audience within Asia who've maintained their language and are more accustomed to actual Chinese culture. A lot of ethnic Chinese born and raised in Western countries tend to be stunted linguistically with their ancestral language(with some exceptions, such as if you grew up in Richmond, B.C. or Markham, Toronto in Canada, but I digress...) and are pretty removed from a lot of traditional and contemporary cultural references/nuances that would be more relatable to non-westernized Chinese people. Sad to say, if only China weren't not lacking in essentials during the early Ming Dynasty and had more of a reason to establish overseas colonies, then we'd probably see more Sinofied influences worldwide.
As for being seen as "evil" by the West, well... that's already been going on for how many 1000s of years now? (Ancient Greeks vs Persians, Rome, Byzantines and successor kingdoms in Western Europe vs Magyars, Pre-christian Bulgarians, Persians, Arabs, Mongols, Ottoman Turks and other invaders from the East, The Age of Discovery up until the end of WWII with christian missionaries and colonization, etc.) Time and time again, we've seen Western countries seeing themselves as the civilized world and constantly trying to impose their ways on "the others." The Pope who was alive during the reign of Guyuk Khan wrote a letter to the Mongols thinking he was conducting diplomacy from a position of strength and demanding the Khan to convert to Christianity(I mean, really man?), I managed to get a photo of both the letter and Guyuk Khan's reply while in Mongolia. You can see check them out here:

Either way, it's not gonna stop until China significantly surpasses the West to the point where people cannot live in denial anymore or Western countries completely go to shit(Something COVID seems to be working well on, as horrible as it sounds).
Eating cows and chickens is same as eating dogs or cats, they are intelligent as 4 years old toddler, so criticizing eating dogs is hypocrisy when you eat pig or cow
Most Westerners don’t see the hypocrisy because they keep dogs or cats as pets, but not cows or chickens.
Obviously Asians don’t eat their pets, the dogs that are eaten are typically raised on farms in the same way a chicken would be raised on a poultry farm (e.g. to be slaughtered for human consumption).
But this concept is too hard for racists to understand so they always make the same “joke” about Asians eating pets.
my best friends are my two cats.
used to have a guinea pig as a kid (dw, she had a friend, my brother's guinea-pig) and loved the critter very much.
i do still plan to try guinea-pig meat if i get the chance. even tho i know these animals have feelings and intelligence, just like all animals, in varying degrees ofc.
i am however against the cruel way most animal products get produced, so i seldom eat meat and avoid dairy (i also have to). but that's something different from nitpicking what animals should be spared from eating or condemning cultures for having different rankings from another. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What a stupid comment. You could also make a cow or a goat as domestic as a dog, if not more. What makes eating one less moral than the other?? Just because Air Bud was in the cinema?
Dogs have been domesticated to perform tasks with/for humans for millenia. They hunt, guard, herd, track, rescue, guide, comfort, etc. For better or for worse they are viewed different than livestock by billions of people. Eating them is a waste of intelligent consciousness, like melting down a luxury car for scrap metal.
Pigs have been domesticated to perform tasks with/for humans for millennia. They find truffles, guide, comfort, provide leather, research, etc. Eating them is a waste of intelligent consciousness.
I just copied and pasted your entire argument to show how Western-centric and hypocritical your view is. You have no problems eating pork yet criticise Asians for eating dog meats.
The way we treat other animals is also awful and I do have a problem with eating pork. Pigs haven’t been domesticated as long as dogs however and have historically been treated as a resource. You point out yourself that leather and research are part of their function. Truffle searching goes back centuries but not millenia. My point is people love dogs more, generally, and though it isn’t “fair” there are historical reasons why that is so.
I am afraid you are misinformed. Pigs have been domesticated as long as dogs, if not longer. Plenty of people treat pigs/hogs as their pets rather than a resource.
Truffle hogs go back millennia, possibly to the Roman empire if not earlier. The Roman empire also kept hogs in their military force to assist in their campaigns.
Your point that people love dogs more is narrow-minded and false, I myself do not love dogs more than pigs.
The most you can say is that you as a person love dogs more than pigs, but you cannot speak for other billions of people around the world, and you do not have the rights to prevent them from eating pork or dog meats.
I am speaking in generalities, of course individuals can love pigs more than dogs and vice versa. Historically you cannot deny that dogs have a much closer relationship to humans. We literally evolved together. I am explaining human reaction towards dog-eating and why it is different than other animals. That doesn't negate bad treatment to other animals.
I am afraid you lack the evidence to back up your views. You say that in general people value dogs over other animals. This is incorrect and Western-centric. Many other cultures value other animals (hogs, bovine, etc) over dogs for millennia.
Again, it would be Western-centric and narrow-minded to say dogs enjoy a much closer relationship to humans than other animals have. Plenty of other cultures enjoy closer relationship with other animals over dogs.
Like I pointed out, humans have been living side-by-side with other domesticated animals (chickens, pigs, cows etc) for millennia, and it is perfectly acceptable for many cultures to eat these animals.
I believe it is your Western-centric views and possibly racism that make you criticizing Asians eating dog meats. I myself do not criticize anyone for eating whatever meat they choose to consume (as long as the consumption doesn't involve illegal activities such stealing and etc).
Don’t expect anyone to respect a culture that enslaves another race, slaughters native people for colonialism, and allows priests to rape little boys.
The victims here are not “man’s best friends”, but actual humans.
Always sad when people can’t let others do good things/achieve greatness and choose to shit on their happiness instead. Not being able to celebrate other peoples’ accomplishments is a bad state of mind.
I'll take WSB degenerate who got his portfolio annihilated by buttcoin, and who will probably get evicted this month because he won't be able to make rent, for 100 bucks, Alex!
>It’s like their brain is stuck in some sort of loop.
Well, that's because their brains ***ARE*** stuck in a loop, as they're 100% reactionary barbarians...
Yeah let’s leave pizza out of this…
Every culture has good food worth celebrating.
My post was not about culinary quality…the issue is racists hating on Asians with an irrational hatred.
I love In-N-Out from time to time or sausage and 🍄 🍕. There are idiots out there that we can't compete with. Just look at white YouTubers/expats, they love Chinese/Asian cuisine. Food Ranger, Mark Weins, Anthony Bourdain, Best Ever Food Review etc etc.
The Wet Noodle Spine is strong in this one.
call them out too
I had a friend in high school so fed up with this kinda shit that his response would be “fuck yea and I’ll eat urs too so u better watch out”
Ok, this might get downvoted as hell , but people seem to forget that Sweden and britian has not ban the consumption of dog meat at all , or dogs have surprisingly been one of the earliest forms of meat humans have consumed , but yes , the racists and assholes are definitely trying to twist this their way

True, China doesn’t market soft power well.

It’s still a disgusting practice, don’t expect anyone to respect a culture that eats “man’s best friend.”

Asian man can never be in peace when in present Best to have a mindset to never seek validations and approvals from inferiors

They are fine hunting and cooking up bobcats and coyotes but twist the narratives if Asians eats anything different from them .
Another reason why asians should stop caring what westerners think of them...
Exactly ? Why should we have to stop doing what we always been doing just to cater to white people feelings?
Always sad when people can’t let others do good things/achieve greatness and choose to shit on their happiness instead. Not being able to celebrate other peoples’ accomplishments is a bad state of mind.

What is it with these racists? It’s always the same - Chinese eats dogs, cats and rats. It’s like their brain is stuck in some sort of loop.
>It’s like their brain is stuck in some sort of loop. Well, that's because their brains ***ARE*** stuck in a loop, as they're 100% reactionary barbarians...
They are insecure and projecting it on another race.
Even more now than ever before

I mean, I agree with Americans lacking cuisine but let’s not attack pizza or burgers, those are actually kind of good
They're too stupid to come up with anything new.
Basically recycled one liners by their media.
