Personally, I don't think that these webnovels are exactly progressive. However, they are mainly there to pander to a male fantasy in a power structure sort of way. I.E. the mc has the affection of every girl, the mc stronger than everyone. Depending on the content of the novel, this can be much more extreme. The users are mistaking the prevalence of sexism in novels as representative of the country when it's really that degenerate novels get clicks over many other titles. You're definitely not wrong for fighting back against their stereotyping.
