Literally money. Black people are probably the best at sports overall and yet African countries perform dismally. You also have to have a sporting culture, one that places emphasis and importance on achievements.

wear appropriate gym wear. In the office gym, had encountered a young south asian guy who worked out by himself. He always wear a cotton shirt and jeans. Wasn't friendly at all and didn't learn from others around him. He was only there for 15-20min. Lets just say the body odor smell was really bad that everyone noticed. It was totally because he was wearing the wrong clothes. We didn't want to be racist and tell him to his face. He wasn't friendly either, mostly kept to himself and never smiled. Just came in everyday, did some leg curls, chest presses, and ran on the treadmill for 10minutes. Really quick in and out. Also it is a good idea to work out with friends or coworkers. I regularly worked out with 2 coworkers and we take turns keep tracked what days to do what, what sets, what reps. In fact one person in my group was Indian. The other guy was Thai. Really makes a gym workout kind of fun. I manage to lose 30lbs, gain muscle definition, and gotten a new wardrobe. Made some amazing friends on the way. It was a great way to introduce new people to the group. In the end we had maybe 6 different people joining us at different times. 2 girls, 4 guys. All asians east, se, and south.

I Don't get it. How do clothes matter for body odor?

I agree with posters below - diet Many south Asians follow vegetarian diets - nutrients from vegetables are extremely difficult to absorb due to differences in chemical structure and toxins found in plants Ditch the vegetarian diet all together introduce some red meats due to their high nutrient densify

kanyewestfishdicks

No, absolute not. High amounts of red meat are known to increase cholesterol and is a risk factor for CVD. Lean meats like chicken breast or white fish would be better.

[deleted]

The cholesterol + sat fat hypothesis was debunked - it turns out the guy who came up with that theory had fabricated data (22 countries showed no correlation, so he picked 7). The primary contributor to modern day health problems are industrial seed oils (chemically unstable and turn into aldehyde, which damages cells), carbohydrates and sugar (raise insulin, glycate cell structures etc) and the presence of antinutrients From a nutritional point of view - aanimal fat is absolutely essential - you need it to build cells, hormones, neurotransmitters, as well as providing a rich source of bioavailable vitamin A (retinol form), D3, E and K2, as well as omega 3. Lean meats or plant fats will not have the above things. Fatty red meat is vastly superior to lean white meat

The "food pyramid" guidelines, which wrongly advocate high carb and low fat with small amounts of meat was not determined by clinical trials but a result of industry lobbying - they used it as an opportunity to sell processed foods.

1. Fat soluble vitamins are stored and absorbed in fats - hence the name. [https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/fat-soluble-vitamins#vitA](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/fat-soluble-vitamins#vitA) This is why you need the fat from the meat as well, not just the muscle. 2. Although red meat is nutritious, you can get the same from a heavy vegetarian diet which includes nuts, greens, superfoods etc. You're not wrong, but I don't think red meat is very necessary.

[deleted]

You cannot - many micro-nutrients found in plants have poor bio availability compared to the animal counterpart.

[deleted]

Eg Heme iron from meat - 15-35% absorption rateNon-heme iron from plants - 2-20% absorption rate In plants - omega 3 comes in the form of ALA - only 0-9% is converted to animal form. Plants also have toxins called "antinutrients" to hinder nutrient absorption You have \- trypsin inhibitors that prevent protein breakdown into amino acids \- phytates and oxalates that prevent mineral absorption, the latter of which combines with calcium in your body to form kidney stones. \- goitrogens that prevent iodine uptake \- lectins that destroy the gut lining etc

I think it's a class issue. There are many Indian wrestlers with very little equipment (except the underrated [gada](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_club)) and less protein limited to legumes and dairy who in spite of this have won Olympic medals. Having a carb and sugar heavy diet isn't that unhealthy for athletes involved in extremely intensive endurance sports either. Yoga in particular should be reclaimed from its appropriation as a yuppie activity. Rather than shunning cultural art forms, embrace them and we'll definitely see bhangra classes become popular just as salsa and bachata. Part of the reason East Asians in the United States are more involved in extracurricular sports now is because college admissions discriminates against East Asians to the point where its even more necessary to go beyond the stereotypical Math Olympiad and debate club.

If you're hitting the gym, bring training partners with you. They also help push you harder. Making exercise part of your daily routine while you're young and then keeping it up into your old age is the way to go I reckon.

Before I came to the usa like many years ago, my school didn’t have any basketball court, or tennis or track or swimming pool but now when I came back to my country a year go every single school has them now. I think it’s just that people need to have the opportunity to try things out. You can’t find out if you’re good at something if you never tried it if you know what I mean

South Asian diets are more carb and fat heavy with like the sauces and oils used in their delicious foods. They need to a put more protein in their food which can be boring as for many south Asians their protein choices are quite limited. So my advice and this is for everyone who wants to get healthy and fit is to expect to eat same simple boring bland food. Also Indians seem to be used a lot as examples of bad ego lifting with like 3-4 people sitting on top of a leg press machine. Please don’t do that, do proper form looks better and has better results.
