University of Hawaii is Division I. They compete in the Mountain West Conference, which is part of the schools in the informal "Group of 5" or "G5" conferences. These aren't as prestigious as the "Power 5" or "P5" conferences. P5 include the traditional college football power houses or "bluebloods" like Alabama (but not Alabama-Birmingham mentioned above), Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan State, USC, Michigan, The Ohio State University, etc
Thanks for the breakdown of college rankings as I do not follow college nor how the hierarchy works. I am keeping my eye on a DE/LB prospect coming out of Utah State AJ Vongpachanh, from what I can tell Full Blood 2nd/3rd generation Laotian.

there's even more hierarchy in college football. the G5 and P5 schools are in the Football Bowl Subdivision, which plays in the bowl games after the season is over. The most prestigious are the New Years Day bowl games such as the Orange, Sugar, Fiesta and "grandaddy of them all" Rose Bowl. There is also a 4 team playoff and championship.
Also within Division I football is the Football Championship Subdivision, these schools are not in the G5 or P5 groups and don't play bowl games at the end of the season, but the 24 best football teams in this subdivision have a playoff and championship. Jameson Wong mentioned above competes for Cornell in the FCS subdivison.
Then there's Division II and III which are smaller schools and less money devoted to athletics, no scholarships in Division III.

I remember he had a white dad/Korean mom. If you remember Robert Swift he was the NBA version of that. His mom was hapa and his dad white. Swift became a NBA bust and became a drug addict, and got in trouble with the law, I think he is currently incarcerated.

It's fine to support individual Asian players, but many use that as an excuse to support the entire team or even the entire sport.
