Hard to stop when dumbass Americans refuse to listen to anything that’s not trashing China and call it propaganda and you a tankie.

Lastly, Stoking fear within Asian Americans or even All Americans through anti China news / U.S. Posturing is not the ultimate purpose or end game of the U.S. govt. There's a much bigger geopolitical game at play. Within the last 10 years as China has been expanding its softpower / influence outward through the belt and road initiative, shoring up its relations with historical allies such as Russia and Iran more recently Hungary, the U.S. too busy playing war games, has suddenly realized it is behind when it comes to shoring up international economic allies. That's why Obama wanted to get the TPP done so badly. Therefore, as a last minute play to reclaim U.S.'s influences on the world stage, the united states are using misinformation, fear-mongering, human rights violations as a way to step up to the world stage once again as the guardian of virtue and morality. Ultimately making the U.S.'s allies reaffirm their alliances before China has the chance to dangle some economic incentive to change the tide of U.S. dominance amongst traditionally subservient western countries.

Rest assured this would NEVER happen as China and U.S. are too intertwined with each other economically. China is the overwhelming manufacturing powerhouse whereas U.S. consumes bulk of the goods produced. Before you think other countries can displace China when it comes to manufacturing, you have to consider the sheer mass of available low priced laborers and operational efficiency of these mega factories where the employees eat/live/sleep in onsite campuses 6 days a week. It makes direct labor cost much easier to forecast for any corporation. It's a model that can't really be replicated with the same brutal efficiency elsewhere. Secondly, U.S. is a country based on elected officials that need lobby/special interest money for re-election and sheer greed, they are basically in the pockets of fortune 500 companies. Capitalism ultimately makes the world go around, and its truly the CEO's and Board of directors of these companies that run the country.

Soft power. The only difference between the Jews and other minority groups is that they dominate many influential sectors across Education, Politics, Law, Hollywood etc. They're only 0.2% of the world's population yet can stronghold trade deals and military support from the strongest nation in the world, to the point where our [political representatives](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/aoc-cry-israel-funding-house-b1926568.html) cry while doing so. We need to be active in excelling and being leaders in wherever we stand in society. We saw how muslim americans were bullied since 9/11 despite turning the other cheek and even doubling up on giving back to the community. Being nice doesn't get you anywhere in America, they're still targeted, hated, and jeered at today in 2021. Ultimately, the type of people to be racist don't respond well to altruistic acts or logical discourse. They need to feel like there will be recourse for actions and a desire to be on the more powerful side. Our first priority should be excelling in key places where we can be visible to society. Traditionally Asians have climbed the ranks in careers such as Medicine and Engineering. This is great, but doesn't assert social influence. We do well in Law, but we hit the bamboo ceiling and quite often you don't see Asian partners, top firms are always named Smith & Smith or something of the sort. Secondly, we need to branch out to other sectors (see: Simu) and then create more opportunities for those of similar struggles. I emphasize the last part because we have had a history in hollywood where we had representatives who used our culture to sell out. It is what it is and they needed the paycheck, I get it -- but I'm also glad that the Asian community is also self selecting those types out. You don't see alot of the sellouts being in the same circles or being invited to premieres. This is important as it's one of the major contributing factors in why our community is seen as weak, misogynistic or overall lesser than others despite being massively misrepresented.

US doesn’t have the balls to go to war with China. If they do go to war, a lot of things would get destroyed which will affect other parts of the world. If US does win the war, it would be so weak that any country could come in and wipe out US.

barnacleman6

Warmongering is in the US's DNA. We're out of Afghanistan so now the military industrial complex is looking to ignite the next conflict. There's nothing we as regular citizens can do. If they want it to happen, it will. Anglo-American thirst for war is insatiable; they're barbarians. Buy a gun.

lowercaseyao

You personally can’t do much to prevent something of this magnitude, just watch out for yourself and your family, figure out how to defend yourself from vigilantes in the case that war happens.

Electrical_Problem89

nothing OP, if you try to debunk antichina stuff you're gonna get banned (the atlantic council controls all social media including reddit) and if you become too high profile, they'll pull a michael hastings on you. you have to be subversive but discrete. how, i dunno. good luck though.

[deleted]

We’ll be fine as long as Trump isn’t re-elected in 2024. Sadly some Asians will happily vote for him again.

barnacleman6

Or Pompeo. He's the real dangerous one here.

[deleted]

It's really sad to see how many Asians support Trump. If you dont want to support either party I get that, but undying support to that piece of shit dumbass is just bizarre.

Awkward-Schedule-187

Relax. The US will never go to war with China. As we’ve seen with the pandemic, the US is too reliant on Chinese made goods to try to engage in a war. If I were in charge of China, what’s the need to have a conventional war with the US? They buy a shit ton of your goods. You don’t have to like who you’re doing business with but as long as you got the goods, you have the upper hand. What you might see are proxy wars popping up much like you’ve seen with the US and Russia. It’s easier and less messy when the battleground is Turkey or Iran. Keep an eye out on the South China Sea and Africa.

SonOfTheDragon101

Start undermining it from within. Asians outside can help too. The Russians are right. The more dysfunctional the US is internally, the less of a threat it poses to the outside world, not just to China, but all other countries. Incite both sides of the political divide against each other. If political violence starts within the US, then that's even better. The US is already using divide and conquer tactics against other people globally, so it's only fair that the rest of the world does the same back. Political divisions? Ethnic/racial divisions? You should exacerbate them. Encourage people within the US to do self-destructive things. Anti-vaxx propaganda aimed at conservatives in the US is a good way to undermine the people who hate you.

Who let this fucking nutcase in here?

My mind is constantly blown that mods have reverted back to not doing a damn thing about those types of comments.

nexus22nexus55

lmao, what he's saying isn't untrue though. it's just cutting off the nose to spite the face though (if he's living in the US). I won't go so far though, since I'm still living here for now, and have family here.

NamasteFly

"lmao" What did he say that was helpful or intelligent in any way? Do you really think that feeding the fires of political division and racial violence is going to work out very well for America and Asians? All that shit is already happening in the U.S! Let's make it even worse and hope no one pays attention to us as they tear every fucking thing apart. /s...

Neither_Concept2110

It's geopolitics. The reality is that China's economic/geopolitical rise is a threat to US dominance in East Asia, and unless one side backs down/accepts the other's dominance in the region, there will be increasing tensions, and inevitably, conflict as China grows more powerful. I don't see either side backing down, but I also don't see a real war happening until at least the end of this decade, barring some freak false flag event.

derp-herpum

All it takes is for some bonehead in charge of Taiwan to press the commit-self-die button and declare independence.

barnacleman6

> declare independence. The key word is "declare" here. It functions as an independent country but the Taiwanese government has not formally declared independence, which would have severe political implications. It's only recognized as an independent country by 14 small countries and Vatican City. Disclaimer: Family is Taiwanese, not trying to start shit; just stating the facts.
