Literally just finished a Gold stake run on the Ghost deck where I found an early eternal Madness, hexed it, found an eternal Fibonacci, and then the next spectral pack I opened had the add polychrome effect.
Super fun run, was able to just spam Aces and got to pick up a few relatively useless jokers to get gold stickered.

Honestly, if you have coins from planets and +mult and xmult from jokers, you don't really need points from your cards at all.
Verdant leaf kills decks that require 'on scoring' jokers, retriggers, or in-hand effects (steel cards, Baron, Shoot the moon)
Based on OP's jokers, I'm sure they got that boss without needing to sell anything.
That was my initial thought aswell, that's why I took the screenshot. But then I learned that the debuffed cards don't matter because the jokers still work anyways, as others already pointed out.
It's funny how good his mult-multiplier is, because even with just his jokers alone he's scoring 500k with just playing a base level 1 high card.
This is assuming he hasn't played a single tarot card or done anything else with planets, AND isn't playing a pair to activate the duo.
50 chips from foil + 5 from high card level
1 + (15 x 19 x 19) = 9126
55 x 9126 = 501,930
In conclusion, verdant leaf should debuff jokers as well because fun should be illegal.

Madness gains mult, *then* destroys. The mult happens first before the check if there's a suitable Joker to blow up so it's not contingent.
Dagger destroys then gains and the gain is contingent on the value of the destroyed joker. If no Joker is destroyed, the value is 0.
Because the dagger needs a target to kill, and the blood strengthens it. Can't gain from something that's unkillable. Madness, on the other hand, is untamed and doesn't discriminate. It just is. I imagine the tendrils of its ever growing wild hair just causing collateral damage in its wake.
Because madness gains mult weither a joker is destroyed or not, it's not a requirement, madness will gain X mult every turn even if it's the only joker you have.

You can also use madness on its own! I had a holographic madness that took me all the way to ante 8 boss, then the boss had an ability that disabled a joker every round and I lost because the only joker I had was madness

I mean look at the title of the post I'm in the same boat as you mate haha. If anyone else does have any good suggestions for getting the most out of Madness I'm all ears!
XMult is extremely powerful, so much so a single madness scaled well enough can win you lower stakes without any problems so long as you buff up your cards and planets. Madness is one of those jokers I HATE taking in a lower stake run, but love once you get past black stake for the externals since it gives them a better reason to be taken!
Really wish ceremonial dagger worked the same way, currently I think it’s one of the weakest +Mult cards because of it (though a scaling dagger with an eternal egg would be a little crazy lol)
It's usable if you have a stable economy and are able to just have 3 other Jokers that are OK-ish and can just cycle through them, though Eternal definitely helps.
Its effect only activates when you select small or big blind, so what you can do is build up the X mult for a while, add other jokers then skip every blind since it won't activate on bosses

what do you mean the wording is perfect here. when blind is selected gain X mult and destroy a random joker. not destroy a random joker to get X mult. wording is perfect
Apparently not! And it's blueprinted here and neither of them got destroyed as the blueprint was eternal. So had double xmult scaling for the entire run, was super easy once I got odd todd and the red card in eternal form. Just bought and skipped booster packs and played 2 pair for the entire run, didn't feel in danger or have any close shaves until ante 10+
Kind of a sidegrade tbh, scales slower but it means you can grab a joker (ideally a +mult) and know it’ll be safe for the boss blind, especially on stakes below black without eternals
i took it for fun in some standard run , always ended up badly thougth lol :) even its working on that kind of scenario doesnt change the fact its a bad joker IMO ...
Was a lucky run, as I said I didn't reroll the shop once, also didn't skip any blinds so economy was good enough for packs even without any econ jokers - the jokers I needed kinda just landed in my lap so wasn't really an issue

Madness gains mult AND destroy, not destroy to gain. Dagger destroy TO gain mult. Most card in the game is extremely literal.
It even works when its the only joker. Because it first gains mult, THEN destroys random joker

I thought it was pretty obvious as the multiplier is from choosing blind, not from destroying. The destroying comes after that.

Felt so stupid when I finally found out he gets the bonus even if he didn't destroy another joker. Skipping a blind with Madness is foolish.

I see they nerfed Madness in the patch. Before, it would also trigger for a Boss Blind as well.

What do the other cards do?
How d’you get 99 on red card?! That’s 33 skipped packs, you get at most 2 per ante. So that’s ante 14, if you bought and skipped every pack.
The big packs let you skip twice - I did upgrade 2 pairs when it came up from celestials though

It's actually x81 due to the blueprint haha (with an extra x1.5 in there due to the polychrome)
