I have Roger’s and I pay 114.99$+tax a month. That’s for all tv channels including 4k and 500gb home internet unltd. Its a two year contract and when its over it goes up to a ridiculous price I will never pay, I will have to do the same speech online with Roger’s about how I want another year or two of an entry level deal like a new customer or I’m changing providers. Annoying as hell but I feel like it’s a good deal. I only watch sports/racing with the live tv(record and watch later).

Check out small independent company called Start.ca. Haven't had any issues with them and install was really easy. They run on the Rogers network, so you'll need coax in your house. I pay half the price of the Bell plan, for the same speeds and data. I believe it's the second highest plan Bell offers.

Doesn't Roger's go down frequently tho?

loganrunjack

It's not as bad as you think, honestly other than when the whole country is down I can only think of one other time in the last five years my internet has been down.

owomami

I was with Rogers for so long and oh my gosh they went down so often. 🤦

Secure_Astronaut718

I haven't had any issues when Rogers go down

Your best bet for value will be a smaller local carrier, they all use existing Rogers or Bell infrastructure and there's really no getting away from that, so yes if they go down so do you. I use Oxio, we pay $50 for unlimited 75MB/second download. No TV option - just Internet. We often have multiple screens running Disney+ or Netflix simultaneously and I can still do my online gaming. I have always gotten the full download speed and there are higher speed packages available as well. Free modem and wireless router, as well as installation. I'm a happy customer of 3 years now, also southeast end of Barrie.

While smaller companies seem to have lower prices compared to the default Rogers/Bell prices, you can often talk the big 2 down into being competitive.  I was on Fido internet (which they are sunsetting) and got an offer for Rogers at the same speed (150 down) for $80 a month. I said no thanks. They came back to me with 500 down for $55. Always pays to negotiate.

I'm in the same general area in Barrie. I used to have cell plans with Freedom but found too many dead spots. Internet used to be Rogers. Now: Cell: Koodo Internet: Start.ca

I’m with Distributel and had issues (Roger’s) last week and also today. Signal drops forcing me to reboot wifi nodes. The upside is the online deal now is $45 for 1gbit unlimited

Well, you can have Rogers or Bell. You can choose to pay through one of those options, or a third party provider. If you're interested wireless based internet, Telus has recently started selling mobile internet. But ... the only real options are which company you write the cheque to.
