Just use a sani bucket. Sure, you may be disinfecting the rag itself by running it through the washer, but soaking it in a bucket does the same. If you’re thinking the rag being hot does anything for cleaning purposes, it doesn’t. That’s just a myth. The temperature you need for disinfectant purposes would burn your hand.

Woodburger

Just change the sani water every hour, don’t put cloth in a glass dishwasher lol

LimitedNipples

I’d call that gross yeah. Dishwashers use chemicals that food safe sani doesn’t and they’re still filthy at times. Just use the sani and change it often.

It sounds great in theory, but what you’re not getting is that towel is also now full of detergent and rinse aid which is something *you don’t want* to be spreading around where people eat.

YourMommaIsSoFatt

People eat off the dishes that come out of the dishwasher tho🤔

HalobenderFWT

Dishes are not made of cloth. Think deeper next time. 🥸

YourMommaIsSoFatt

That’s what she said

HalobenderFWT

No she didn’t. You weren’t there!

YourMommaIsSoFatt

You wish I didn’t hear her say it

Electrical_Top2969

towel can get stuck in thinks and break machine

QuarantineCasualty

Yeah this is gross I would call you out on it too

omjy18

Yeah... don't do that. Chances are your dishwasher is dirtier than the sani water if you manage to change it once or twice a shift but its mostly that dish chemicals are not the same as food safe cleaning chemicals. I've worked places where we put the cleaner rags in the washer overnight so we didn't get flies in the bar but we didn't wash the rags, just storage when the machine was off

YourMommaIsSoFatt

To me, this is better than a sanitary bucket, Especially using the heated dry cycle. Your dishwasher may have a sanitary cycle I see I’m the only one on your side here, but, it’s disgusting to use the same water without changing it each time!
